Elena’s mind went completely blank. It was as if the world had come to a standstill, the air thick and suffocating around her. Her hands trembled ever so slightly, her heart waging a silent battle between disbelief and despair.

Lily’s mocking voice sliced through the fog like a sharp blade. “Oh, come on, Elena. Don’t look so shocked. It’s perfectly normal for men to have affairs.”

Elena’s breath hitched, and she shook her head in disbelief. Her voice cracked with emotion. “No. No, this can’t be true. Stephen loves me. He loves me. He would never replace me.”

But Lily’s smirk only deepened, her voice dripping with cruel amusement. “Oh, sweet, naive Elena. He already has. And why wouldn’t he? Stephen has always been desperate for a child—a desperation you couldn’t fulfill.”

The words slammed into Elena like a physical blow. Her chest tightened painfully, an invisible weight pressing down on her heart. It felt almost unbearable.

Lily leaned in, her hand resting lightly on Elena’s shoulder—a gesture that felt more like mockery than comfort. “Face it, Elena. Stephen has moved on. It’s better for you to walk away with whatever dignity you have left. Otherwise, you’ll spend the rest of your life like this—crying over something you can’t change.”

Elena’s grief sparked into a flicker of defiance. With sudden strength, she shrugged off Lily’s hand and stood taller, her eyes glistening with unshed tears but burning with resolve.

“Stop trying to provoke me, Mom,” she snapped, her voice firm despite the tremor. “I’ll talk to Stephen myself. This isn’t over.”

Without another word, Elena spun around and stormed away, anger simmering beneath the surface. But as she walked, the screech of tires halted her steps. Her heart skipped a beat as Stephen’s car pulled up in front of her.

For a moment, hope flickered in her chest. Maybe he had come to explain, to deny everything. But that fragile hope shattered when Mia  stepped out of the car beside him.

They were unbearably close—Mia’s hand rested possessively on Stephen’s waist, and his arm was draped casually over her shoulder. Their intimacy was undeniable, and seeing it sent Elena’s heart plunging into an abyss of despair.

Her chest tightened as if the air had been stolen from her lungs. Breathing became a struggle, and her vision blurred with tears. This wasn’t a misunderstanding. This was betrayal—a wound deeper than any she had ever known.

Behind her, Lily’s voice rose again, venomous and dripping with false pity. She placed her hand on Elena’s trembling shoulder, her words like poisoned arrows. “See? I told you, Elena. Stephen doesn’t need you anymore. You’ve lost your place in his life. If you have any pride left, step aside and let my son live in peace. Mia will give him what you never could—a child. A future.”

Each word felt like a knife in Elena’s heart, shattering it into countless pieces. Her gaze remained locked on Stephen and Mia, who stood together as the perfect picture of a couple in love.

Unable to bear the sight or the words any longer, Elena turned and ran. Tears streamed down her face as she fled, the ache in her chest growing with every step.

As she disappeared into the distance, Lily’s mocking laughter echoed behind her. “Run all you want, Elena,” Lily sneered. “I hate you—and I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you and Stephen apart.”

At the Mansion

Supporting Stephen by the arm, Mia guided him into the mansion with care. She helped him settle onto the plush sofa, crouching beside him, concern etched on her face.

“Sir, is there anything else you need?” she asked softly.

Stephen leaned forward, pressing his hands to his temples. His voice was low and strained. “No, Mia. Just leave. I need to be alone.”

Mia hesitated, her eyes scanning his pale face. Stephen looked utterly drained, a far cry from the confident man she once knew. Unable to walk away, she rose and took a tentative step closer.

But before she could speak, Stephen’s voice cut through the silence, sharp and irritated. “Didn’t you hear me? I said, leave! Go back to being what you’re supposed to be—a secretary. Nothing more, nothing less. Now get out!”

The harshness of his words stung, but Mia didn’t flinch. Instead, she lowered her gaze briefly before meeting his eyes with quiet determination. “Sir, before I’m your secretary, I’m also your friend—your college friend. And I won’t leave you like this, no matter how much you push me away.”

Stephen’s frustration deepened, but Mia pressed on, her voice soft but resolute. “I know you’re hurting. I know about… Elena’s betrayal. It’s tearing you apart, Stephen. But you don’t have to face this alone. Let me help you.”

At the mention of Elena’s name, Damon’s entire body tensed. A storm of emotions surged within him—anger, heartbreak, longing. He clenched his fists, his voice trembling with pain.

“I loved her,” he said, each word like a dagger in his throat. “I loved her more than anything. I would have fought the entire world for her, Mia. But she… she didn’t think twice before betraying me. She left me. Just like that.”

The weight of his grief hung heavy in the room, and for a moment, even Mia fell silent, her heart aching for the broken man before her.

Pain was etched into Stephen’s eyes—raw and unguarded. Mia saw it and took the moment to inch closer to him on the sofa.

Gently, she placed her hand over his, her voice soft and persuasive. “Stephen, why are you tormenting yourself over someone like Elena? She cheated on you, broke your heart. Why waste another second of your life thinking about someone so undeserving?”

Her fingers traced light circles on his hand as she leaned in closer, her voice almost pleading. “Look around you, Stephen. There are people—I’m here—who care for you, who love you. Why not let go of the past and—”

Before she could finish, a servant entered, holding an envelope in one hand. His presence broke the moment like a thunderclap.

“Sir,” the servant said politely, bowing slightly, “I found this letter while cleaning. It seemed important, so I thought I should bring it to you.”

Stephen jerked his hand away from Mia’s touch, as though it had burned him. Mia froze, her expression shifting from confidence to shock, as Stephen reached for the letter without a word.

Taking the envelope, he held it with a frown, curiosity growing. The room fell into an awkward silence as Mia’s frustration simmered. Her carefully laid plans to get closer to Stephen had just been derailed by a mere servant.

But Damon wasn’t paying attention to her anymore. He unfolded the letter slowly, his expression darkening with every second.

And then he froze.

The air seemed to leave the room as Damon stared at the contents of the letter. His face drained of color, and his hands began to tremble. His mind raced to understand what he was seeing. It wasn’t just any letter—it was Elena’s pregnancy report.

The weight of the revelation hit him like a punch. His breath quickened, and the words blurred before his eyes. “Pregnancy…?” he murmured, his voice barely audible, but the anguish in it was unmistakable.

Mia’s eyes narrowed, both confused and afraid. “What is it, Stephen?” she asked, trying to peer over his shoulder.

But Stephen stood abruptly, his mind spinning. The world as he knew it had been turned upside down, and he couldn’t comprehend what he was holding in his hands.

Stephen’s eyes widened as the realization sank in. His hands flew to his head in despair. His voice cracked with regret. “Shit! What have I done? Elena is pregnant… she’s carrying my child!”

A flood of emotions surged through him—joy at the revelation, grief over his actions, and guilt that threatened to overwhelm him. He sank back onto the sofa, his head in his hands, as the weight of his mistake bore down on him.

Meanwhile, Mia’s face twisted with panic and jealousy. Snatching the report from Stephen’s trembling hands, she read it quickly, her lips curling into a mocking sneer. “Elena? Pregnant? Seriously?” she spat, her voice dripping with venom. “She’s gorgeous, I’ll give her that, but even as your wife, she’s carrying someone else’s child. What does that say about her?”

Stephen sprang to his feet, his anguish giving way to anger. “Stop it!” he shouted, his voice booming through the room. “I don’t want to hear another word against Elena—not from you, not from anyone!”

Tears welled in his eyes as he paced the room, his mind racing with memories of Elena—the way she smiled, the love they once shared, the trust he had foolishly broken. His voice cracked with regret as he muttered, “How could I have been so blind? So stupid? I didn’t trust her when I should have… when it mattered most.”

Mia, desperate to regain control of the situation, stepped closer, her voice sharp and manipulative. “Oh, come on, Stephen. Don’t do this to yourself. Are you even sure the child is yours?”

Stephen looked at Mia  with sharp eyes and said  "Mind your tongue you are talking about my wife"

Mia tighten her fist and said  "but she betrayed you! don't be fool Stephen. Elena is carrying someone else's child"

Mia tried to come closer but Stephen pushed her and said in rude tone "i dare you to talk about my wife again!"

Looking at Stephen's anger mia took a steo back and Stephen left the mansion in hurry.

Mia took out the phone from her pocket and dialled a number intantly "Everything is finished, our plan is failed"
