AFTER what happened at William's house, it was immediately overshadowed by another news. The whole world immediately became noisy with the news released by the government.

"Currently, what the government has announced is talk. We know that the government has given a huge amount of money for a huge project and support for Baoye's harmaceutical Corporation where it is said that they are making an immune boosting drug. The government said that the drugs that will boost your immunity are currently a hundred percent successful. Two people tested are now immune to any kind of virus. The government has stated that the first dose and mass vaccine will be distributed at Rowan Village. Please stay tuned, we will be back!"

"Huh? Aren't they afraid of that?" asked William's Manager.

William and his Manager Lukas are currently working.

"Isn't your brother one of the staff of Baoye's Pharmaceutical Corporation?" Manager Lukas asked.

William nodded. "Yeah, as far as I know, he's not part of the corporation's inner circle," William said immediately.

William will not ruin his sister's reputation. William will do his best to protect his sibling's reputation.

"Oh, isn't it?" Lukas immediately reacted. "Anyway, I don't really have a good feeling about that medicine. I hope they don't make it compulsory," he added.

William looked up at the television inside the Happy Convinience Store and then sighed. He didn't know how he would react to the news because he heard that the government was still looking for Liesa.

"I don't know if I should be scared or excited about this new drug."

"If we can be given a good reason to inject that why not?"

"I won't pierce that no matter what. We'll just die together."

The people of the town expressed various opinions in their respective interviews about the new drugs released by Baoye's Pharmaceutical Corporation and even though its backer is the government, if people are afraid they can't do anything.

"Will it be safe?" William asked himself.

"Whether it's safe or not, it's quite intriguing," a man said, and put some food on the counter.

William looked at the person in front of him and he immediately looked away. That man is his type.

Right, William likes men. He knew it since he was a child and he had already admitted it to his siblings. He was quite worried before, but he realized that he worried for nothing.

"It's two hundred and seventy-nine," William said after he punched the barcode.

"Here," the man said, and put the three hundred bills on the counter. "Aren't you scared that something might happen because of that drug?" The man asked.

William looked at the man. "It's the government's responsibility. But I hope they won't ignore the plea of the people who refuse."

The man nods his head. "Right," he said, "Not everyone wants to inject a liquid they don't know where it came from," he added.

William looked at the man because he felt that there was something different about what he said. William just nodded.

"Yeah," William commented. "Thank you for purchasing," he added.

The man left, and William sighed. She didn't know how much longer she could keep talking to such men as if they didn't exist.

"That man looks so fine. He's handsome and has a muscle," William said to his mind. He shook his head. "No, focus on your work, William. Don't flirt!"

"Are you okay?" Manager Lukas asked when he saw William shook his head.

"Ah, yeah."

Manager Lukas immediately grinned when he realized what had happened. "Was that man your type?" he asked and smiled mischievously.

William looked away and immediately blushed. "Sir, please, don't tease me."

Manager Lukas burst out laughing. "William, don't worry. I'm not homophobic. Also, I guess that man is really good. I mean, he's handsome. But of course, I'm more handsome."

William laughed weakly because he already knew his Manager's behavior. Lukas only accidentally found out that William was gay and because of that they became close. Lukas' brother is also gay, which is why he doesn't care what William's sexual preferences are.

THREE days later when the government announced about the vaccine, they immediately withdrew it. They said that the vaccine needs more research because of the reactions of some to the medicine. Because of that, it immediately created panic, especially among people who have relatives in Rowan Village.

There were also some who rallied because they were not allowed to enter the boundary of Rowan Village and they did not receive any news about their family. Because of that, the whole country is even more confused.

"You better be careful on your way to your job, William," Natasha immediately reminded as she put on her shoes.

"You too, sis," William immediately reminded him.

Natasha sighed. "I called Jarvis last night and told him not to join the rallies. We should be careful or else we will join the rally without our knowledge. The government has thin patience right now, the rallyists are becoming more and more aggressive," Natasha added.

"I know, sis. You should be more careful because you'll just be walking to your interview," William warned.

Natasha nodded and then said goodbye to William. William held his chest because of the strange feeling he was feeling. He felt that something bad was going to happen. Even so, William ignored it.

William walks towards the Happy Convenience Store. When he arrived, he immediately greeted his manager. "Good morning, Manager Lukas."

Lukas turned around and smiled at William. "Oh, good morning, William. Come here, look at my baby's chubby face," he said as he waved his hand, telling William to come closer.

Lukas was just married a year ago, and three days ago, his wife gave birth to a cute baby boy. William saw the baby's face from Lukas' lock screen.

"Wow, he's so cute!" William complimented.

"I know, right?! My wife gave birth to such a handsome little boy," Lukas flexed.

William just laughed softly and then they went back to work.

For a few days everything remained normal until one day, while William was at work he was almost nailed to where he was standing.

Everyone was running away from their place. Even though he was inside the store, he could see and hear everyone's screams. It made William feel afraid.

"Why is everyone screaming and running away?" Manager Lukas asked when he got out of the staff room.

"I also don't know..." William replied, as his eyes were glued to the outside of the store.

A person launched an attack on another person and bit their neck. Both Lukas and William shuddered at the scene. When not one, but two people bit the other person, their eyes widened and glued. It's as if the person who bites someone has no mind at all!

A moment later, the person who got bitten suddenly had a seizure and then stood up and bit the other people. William covered his mouth when he saw the scene.

Due to the shock, William is unable to move. Until Manager Lukas grabbed his hands and they both went to the staff room.

"What the… what the hell was that?" Luke commented.

William was shocked and stared at nothingness. All he could think of in his mind was his siblings. He wanted to go out and find his siblings, but he couldn't. There's a lot of commotion outside.

"Oh my god! Why wife and my child!" Lukas cried as he straightened himself.

William clenched his fist as he tried to calm himself down.

"This isn't good. What the hell is happening right now? Who's biting who? What the hell is this? Is this some kind of movie or what?"

When Liam finally got out of the store, he shivered. He saw how the beautiful city he had been working in for years became desolate. Cars everywhere, bags and personal belongings lying on the floor, blood everywhere—the building almost got ruined. There’s no tsunami or earthquake, but what happened for the last two weeks makes things even worse than a natural disaster.“We should go now. We have to leave this place as soon as possible. Even though this city is small, it’s still a city. A lot of people came by and worked here.”Liam nodded his head, and his grip on his improvised baseball bat tightened. When he heard the growl and groans of the mindless creation, it left eerie feelings in the silence of the day.Brandon put his weapon on his back and looked at Liam before he looked around and started to look for possible threats for the two of them. He calculated everything, even the mindless creature not far from them.“Based on my observation for the last two days, these mindless zom

As the light dimmed and their shadows cast inside the pharmacy, Liam looked out, and that's when he realized it was getting dark. His nervousness now is worse than the nervousness he felt when he was still in the personnel room of the store where he worked. Even though he had someone with him now, he couldn't help but be nervous. It's not because of the company he's with that he's nervous; it's not because he's changing, but because of himself. He didn't know if he could control himself.Liam just nodded and then looked at the supplies he and Brandon had gathered."If it's true what you said that they can see in the dark, then I think it's okay that we stay here tonight. It's too dangerous out here in the dark," Liam said, nodding his head in appreciation.Brandon leaned on the pharmacy shelf with his arms crossed, studying Liam with his casual smile. "Sounds like a plan. Safety first, right?"Liam nodded. Brandon is right—safety first. If they don't put their safety first, how will he

It was early morning, but Liam still couldn't sleep. He wet the towel he was putting on Brandon's forehead several times because it dries quickly. The flickering lights did not help either. Because the light wasn't that strong and he couldn't create a strong light so that the mindless creatures outside wouldn't notice them, Liam had a hard time moving. He's used to this setup; yes, that's because he takes care whenever one of his siblings gets sick. But that was on normal days. What is happening now is not normal; how will he act?Liam's restless from the unsettling sounds coming from the outside; he couldn't sleep and might as well watch the sick person. He glanced at Brandon, who lay on his side on the makeshift bed, his face creased with discomfort. It was obvious that he was struggling at the height of his fever."Brandon, are you feeling okay?" Liam asked. Concern could be heard in his voice.Even though Brandon was struggling, he slowly opened his eyes. Even if he tries to show

Brandon, sitting on the other edge of the bed, began to speak in hushed tones, his voice carrying an air of sincerity. For some reason, Liam felt that this was one of those incredible events."Liam, I needed to tell you something important," he said, full of concern in his voice. "I don't know if you're going to believe it or not, but it's all true." Liam didn't say anything and let Brandon do the talking. He took a deep breath before continuing, "The fever that I had, it's not just a regular fever or illness. It's a manifestation—a sign that someone's ability is finally awakened. The people that gained in order to survive this chaos."Liam, perched on the other edge of the bed, looked at Brandon as he listened to him intently. Upon hearing those words, his curiosity was piqued. "Abilities?" he asked, full of confusion in his eyes. "Like superpowers?" he added.Brandon nodded his head. When Brandon laid down next to Liam, he immediately hugged him. Liam looks okay, yes, but Brandon still sees that it's not really okay. Just as he expected, when he hugged him, he felt his shoulders go up. He's crying. The room was shrouded in silence, and the air was heavy with grief. Soft moonlight filtered through the broken window, casting a pale glow on the scene inside. This is the second time Brandon has seen Liam this broken. It hurts, but he can't do anything because he knows that the only thing Liam can do right now is cry. Liam kneeled beside the lifeless body of his sister, Jasmine, his fingers trembling as he gently brushed a strand of hair from her face. Seeing his sister's face for the first time after the end of the world is really heartbreaking. What he expected was that he would be able to hug her. Who would have thought that he would see a cold corpse? Her once-vibrant eyes were closed forever, her body still and cold. He could barely recognize her through the

Brandon, who was just listening, looked at Liam. Even she couldn't believe what her boyfriend said. That's because he knows how much Liam loves his siblings. "Let me explain," Liam said immediately. "Yes, you will only be a burden. First, we know that your ability is not offensive, Jarvis. Yes, you will help me and Brandon, big time, in the travel because you know where there are many and few mindless zombies, but what if we're fighting? We don't know if we can protect you and Brandon at the same time." This time, Liam turned his gaze to Nathalie. "And yes, your ability was offensive, but it's not enough for you to fight against many mindless zombies. You still need more experience." Everyone is silent; no one talks. They all listened to what Liam said, and it was all on point. Everything Liam said made Nathalie and Jarvis unable to say anything, even though they admitted it. "Fine!" Especially mindless zombies. They did not become humans again and return to normal, but only lost their ability to use abilities. According to Brittany and Sophia, who studied it, that is because their body has become immune to the virus and their body no longer agrees to remove the virus from their body, which is why the zombie virus gives the body something to sacrifice, just like the ability that disappears in mindless creatures that are injected with the cure. Many are disappointed, but they are still thankful that there is still a chance that they will not become mindless zombies in case they are inj

A few days ago, Luis and his caravan left. "Hmm?" You could see the worry on Liam's face, and Brandon knew what it was for. Because of that, he sat down, and he yanked Liam a little. "So, what's your worry?" Brandon asked softly as they sat down and hugged Liam from behind."Do you think Luis will be okay?"Brandon placed his chin on Liam's right shoulder. "Don't worry about them." He gave Liam a kiss on the cheek. "You know that I wouldn't give them a job like that if I knew they couldn't do it. Meanwhile, on the other hand, half of the caravan members wandered inside the base. Look around and see how they can start with what Luis did to them. This is not against their will because they also know that this is the only thing they can do in return for the return to normal of the only child in their group. They stopped in front of a building. The man paused in his work, wiping sweat from his brow as he turned to face Luis and his caravan. "Ah, a caravan," he said, greeting them with a weary smile. Even though he was smiling, Luis could still see the tiredness in his eyes. Who wouldn't be tired if you used not only physical strength but also mental strength, which is very difficult to replenish if you didn't use crystal nuclei? "You've come at a chaotic time. We recently faced a siege of mindless zombies that breached our defenses and wreaked havoc on our safe zone." He sighed. "I don't even know why the mindless zombies suddenly came together. Not only that, even if those at the top of the military were aware, even if they dispatched immediately, it still happened like this," he added as he sighed again and smiled. "If you're going to enter, go through the east gate. The process is long because everything has to be secured, but if there's no problem, you can enter."Luis nodded, understanding dawning on his face. "I see,"
