‘Hi, beautiful mate! Welcome to the family. Now that Dylan is connected to you I can see your wolf through our family link, but she is not awake,’ Ace’s wolf, Aspen, says in my head.

‘Yeah, she is nearly always asleep. She has stirred once or twice since I have been here but I get headaches and she goes back into deeper sleep from the weakness,’ I reply.

‘Ace and I will fix this, but we will need to go further away to do that. You won’t have your full power until she is healed,’ Aspen says solemnly.

‘Aspen, stay safe!’ I call through the link but I know he is leaving range as I say it.

“He’s strong and he told me earlier that Ace is returning to himself and grieving over his actions. Aspen is in charge in both forms while Ace tries to sort everything out in his mind,” Dylan says, wrapping me in a loving embrace and smiling at the heat he feels radiating from my abdomen.

“I’m surprised with her asleep that I can go into heat,” I admit.
