My mind reels as I try to make sense of everything. I read the entire first journal of Dylan’s mother. Much of what she wrote was about family lineage and somehow that lines up with a prophecy. She believed Ash and Dylan were one key to the prophecy. She also said something about her husband’s infidelity and her suspecting I was possibly the product of that, but she was uncertain. Which is odd, given the amount of kindness she always showed me.

I was about to crack open the second journal when Dylan came in looking wide eyed and bewildered. His jaw was hanging open and he was a mess.

He told me he had to execute Carson and do so publicly, because if not there were people who would destroy our pack because of something he had done but he looked too horrified to explain further. He looked into my eyes and held my hands as he told me Carson has known for years that he is my father. I broke down in tears and would have collapsed had Dylan not caught me.
