Yerick said every word sincerely, as if he was trying very hard to prove his innocence.

Rosalie felt slightly awkward. “Yerry, I’ve never doubted you. Please don’t take it to heart.”

“I know you don’t doubt me, but your husband doesn’t seem to like me very much. Did I do something wrong?”

Uneasiness filled Yerick’s eyes, making him look like a deer caught in the headlights, on the verge of tears.

Sebastian sneered. “Do you expect me to like you?”

Yerick made it sound as though he was in the wrong for not liking him as much as Rosalie did. Where did he get that audacity from?

“I didn’t mean that,” Yerick explained anxiously. “Please don’t be mad at me. I’m just here to visit Rose, nothing else. If I’m making you upset, I’ll leave right away.”

Yerick covered his mouth, feeling indignant. He stood up to leave, an anxious look on his face.

Rosalie grabbed Yerick’s arm, and said anxiously, “Yerry, don’t be mad. You’re not making us upset.”
