LEXI

It came so suddenly, like a shock, that it took me a few seconds to comprehend what was happening. He had kissed me. Donald had really kissed me. I didn't feel anger, but I felt like we were doing the wrong thing. I felt like we weren't supposed to be doing this. Scrape that! I felt like I wasn't supposed to be doing this; it was all wrong.

A gentle bite on my lip jerked me out of my train of thought. "Ah!" I groaned. Donald took advantage of the little time I parted my lips to prod his tongue into my mouth. Expertly, he twirled his tongue in my mouth. I was supposed to find it enjoyable, right? Gosh! It was disgusting, yet I couldn't bring myself to stop him.

After what seemed like a long hour, which wasn't even up to five minutes, I stylishly broke the kiss and took a few steps away from him. "That was cool!" I mumbled, forcing out a smile.

I guessed he noticed what happened there because I saw a weird glint flash across his eyes, but he never mentioned anything about it, whic

GENERAL Ten minutes after Donald left, Lexi's vision began to turn blurry, and a splitting headache ran through her head. Even though she was on a chair, she almost collapsed on the floor, but she held the edge of the table, which supported her and helped her maintain her composure. "Ah!" She groaned, tightening her eyes close. She shook her head as though shaking off the blurry vision and opened her eyes back. At this point, her eyes were spinning, and she felt a weird sensation crawling over her body. She wondered what had gone wrong. She hadn't shown any sign of sickness before she went upstairs for the party, so what was happening? Could it be the drink? She picked up the glass of wine, which was trembling in her hand, and inhaled, but she didn't perceive any weird smell. Suddenly, she became hot and heated. The urge to remove all she was putting on surged powerfully and it was at this point that she asserted that she couldn't be at the party anymore. She needed to leave before

RYAN As our skins collided, it felt as though my body was set on a fire of lust. It responded to each of her touches, and I kept having the urge to take it deeper. I realized that I had missed her so much. Although we had an intimate session once, I could remember everything. The feelings and sensations were vivid in my head. I remembered how I insulted her and accused her falsely of spiking my drink and seducing me to get in bed with her. I was such a dick that I refused to accept that I lured her into it, and I enjoyed every bit of it. She was a virgin, and I took the precious gift from her. Inching closer to her, just when I was about to press my lips against hers, a warning resounded in my head and propelled me to stop whatever I was doing. I froze, leaned backward, and shrugged off the myriad of obscene thoughts from my head. What was I trying to do? Did I just try to have sexual intercourse with Lexi? I was just about to take advantage of her vulnerability and intoxication. H

GENERALImmediately, Donald locked eyes with the woman who called his name; he blinked and tilted his head to the side, making it obvious that he was avoiding her gaze. He bowed curtly and turned back, focusing on what he was about to do before she stopped her.Seeing how he acted, the woman smiled, "Donald!" She called, dashing to stand in front of him. She lowered her head so that she could take a full glimpse of his face. "It's really you. I know this is you. I have been watching you from the party, but I needed to be certain it was you before I made a move." She continued to talk, grinning excitedly like someone who met her friend after many years. However, Donald put on an indifferent countenance. He was neither elated to see her nor acting like he recognized her from somewhere. All he was doing was avoiding her eyes. "I am sorry, Miss. I think you've gotten the wrong person. I am not the person you are looking for," he denied, his voice husky but shaky. There was fear in his ey

GENERALStepping out of the elevator, he walked toward Lexi's room and was about to knock when he heard his name again. It was from none other than Cinderella, the same woman he threatened seconds ago."Donald!" Cinderella called, causing his hands to hang in the air.The smile on his face dissipated. Sighing, he twirled around to face Cinderella. Before he could turn properly and ask questions, Cinderella wrapped her arms around his neck and clasped her lips against his. She nibbled on his lips hungrily.Donald was shocked. He stood transfixed for a few seconds as he assimilated what was happening. Finally, he jerked out of his reverie and pushed Cinderella away."What the hell are you doing, Cinderella? You know me so well. Don't make me do what I promised myself not to do," Donald shouted, pointing an accusing finger at her.Unlike when they were on the rooftop, Cinderella's eyes were devoid of fear. He could see the brazenness in her demeanor and eyes. Leaving him to wonder what s

I stretched my head, attempting to hit the pillow beside me, and perhaps pulled it to myself when my hand hit another surface different from the pillow. To be certain, I hit the spot again, and it was still the same sturdy surface, which caused me to open one of my eyes slightly. Instantly, my eyes flew open when I saw the person I mistook for a pillow. "Ah!" I shouted, sitting up and dragging the duvet to my chest. I was terrified. I didn't know what had happened or how it had happened. At the same time, Ryan, who was sleeping beside me, jumped out of his sleep and sat up on the bed."What is it? Are you okay? Did something happen? Is it a bad dream?" Ryan asked in a worried tone; the sleepiness in his eyes had dissipated immediately, even without rubbing them off. He tried to touch me, but my body stiffened, and I shifted it backward."Don't you dare lay your filthy hands on me? What are you doing in my room? Why are

RYANI hated everything. I hated myself for being such a fool. I was such a dummy. Why didn't I just listen to her and do what she wanted yesterday? Why did I have to restrain myself?I obviously didn't have any dignity left because Lexi kept trampling on it without any care. I should have just fucked her until she called my name. I should choke her and make her shed tears of joy while begging me to bang her aggressively. At least, I would be excited that I got something in return for the humiliation and slap I received from her today. I was an idiot. I was disappointed in myself.I dashed into the storage room and punched the wall many times until there was a crack. The atmosphere of the room changed drastically, becoming dark, terrifying, and eerie. I was certain that I could hurt somebody at this point.Still lost in thought and my aggressiveness, the creaking sound of the door wafted into my ears, and I tilted my head in that direction. As soon as I did that, a huge, weightlifting

Returning the smile, I settled on the seat, and he went to sit on the chair in front of me."Tell me, what do you want?" He asked."Let me try Tteokbokki. I need it spicy, please," I responded with a smile. That was one of the Korean foods I have been looking forward to eating. "Okay. "Enjoy your meal!" He said, bowing curtly before walking away.Adebola and I tucked into the food immediately after he left. It was so spicy that I felt my mouth burning, but I enjoyed every bit of it. I didn't drop the chopsticks until I gulped the last Tteokbokki on the plate. "Ah!" I breathe out loudly. LEXIIt happened so suddenly. I knew I was so stupid for walking freely on the road without checking for coming vehicles. With the manner in which the truck was approaching me, it was glaring that I wouldn't be able to evade the danger looming even if I tried to run. Fuck it! I couldn't even run. I was too shocked to carry my feet. It was as though my feet had been glued to the cement road. The rear light of the truck shone brightly in my face as it closed up on me. Immediately, I shut my eyes and anticipated the excruciating pain that might send me to heaven because the chances of escaping death were slim.As expected, the pain came, and I heard a crashing sound, but it wasn't as painful as I expected. To me, it seemed impossible because that was a damn truck, and I could imagine the kind of pain it would cause if it hit anyone. Could it be that I was already dead? Was that the reason the pain didn't envelope me like I presumed?"Dowajuseyo! Dowajuseyo!! 119 jeonhwahaejuseyo," I hea

GENERALIsabelle ran out of the classroom when she sighted the chauffeur. "Uncle!" She shouted, running toward him. The chauffeur tilted his head in the direction of the voice and smiled brightly when he saw the young girl running toward him."How was school today, Isabelle?" He asked, holding her hand and taking the lunch box and backpack from her. "It was fine, uncle. It feels good to be in school again," she answered heartily, leaping and reciting a nursery rhyme as they walked to the car.Getting into the car, she hopped into the back seat, and he assisted her to do her seatbelt. Afterward, he went back to his seat to begin the trip. However, before he could do that, Isabelle stopped him. "Excuse me, uncle," she said. The chauffeur's hand froze. He left the key he was about to turn in the ignition and tilted his head to give her the attention she requested. "Is there any problem, Isabelle? Do you want me to do something for you?"Clamping her mouth, she shook her head. "Can yo

LexiDriving into the car park, I turned off the ignition and stepped out of the car. I walked into the elevator, and a ding sound ripped through the air as it reached the floor where my office was located. The moment I stepped out, a loud sound filled the air, startling me and causing me to take a few steps backward. Widening my eyes to look in the direction of the sound, I realized that it was a party popper. Before I could comprehend what just happened, I heard, "Welcome back to work, President Lexi. And congratulations on your recovery," my staff said in chorus, and that was when I saw everyone's faces. Aside from the staff from other departments, the office area is filled with staff from the Presidential Department. My heart tingled with admiration and excitement. I loved that. They all clapped their hands afterward. Donald sauntered out of their midst, holding a bouquet of red roses. "Welcome back to work, Lexi," he mumbled, handing over the flower to me.I narrowed my gaze as

GENERAL"Can you hear me?" Lexi asked again when he didn't answer her previous questions. She stood up and held his arm, her brows raising and her eyes widening.Since he couldn't talk because of the oxygen fixed in his nose, he blinked his eyes and nodded to her question. At the same time, Zoe and Emily ran over and intentionally pushed Lexi away. Thankfully, she was able to maintain her composure with the help of the bed. She knew the two witches were just trying to frustrate her and make her act like a madwoman, but she would forgive them today and deal with them another time."My son!" Zoe called. "Brother!" Emily spurted out, holding his arm. The duo smiled, looking at Ryan, whose gaze was focused on Lexi."How are you feeling?" Zoe retracted her gaze from him and moved it to Emily, "Go and inform the doctor that he's awake," she ordered.Nodding, Emily left the room and returned almost immediately with the same doctor who attended to Lexi. GENERALAnger coursed through Zoe's veins as she heard what Lexi said. It was as though she was slapped hard in the face. Her face turned crimson red with lines of anger scribbled on her facial features. She gritted her teeth and took steps forward. "What! What did you just say? How dare you call me by my name?" She shouted, her veins popping out due to anger.Lexi chuckled nonchalantly, "What was I supposed to call you with? Your daughter's name? Zoe is your name, so I will call you by that. Or... What were you expecting me to call you?...." She paused, raised her brows, and glanced at her quizzically. When she finally thought of something, she erupted into laughter, covering her mouth with her hands, "Don't tell me you are expecting me to call your mother? Oh my goodness! Have you forgotten that you are not my mother? You reminded me many times back in the days," She taunted with her words, ignoring the murderous glares emitting from them. She was less concerned. She loved it. Tha

She asked again, her eyes dilating in anticipation of what her parents' response would be. She just hoped that it wouldn't be bad news. She owed him a lot. She would have been dead before they got saved if he hadn't intervened and stalked enough time for them. The last thing she wanted to hear was that he was gone. "The doctor said that he was in a more critical situation, and it was only by a miracle that the bullet didn't get to his heart because it was just a tiny space between his heart and the spot the bullet pierced into. He has been operated on and is out of danger, but he hasn't opened his eyes since then," her mother explained calmly. There was guilt in her eyes. Even though Ryan had once maltreated their daughter, they couldn't help but feel indebted to him. It would have been a differ

  • Chasing Love After Divorce   Where Is Ryan?

GENERAL FLASHBACK TO 12 HOURS AGO Ryan sat in his car, resting his arm on the steering wheel and staring at the mansion in front of him. He was contemplating whether to enter or not. He was there to check on Lexi, but he was scared to step in because he didn't know the reaction he would meet. The memory of the humiliation he received at the hospital was still vivid in his head, and he wouldn't want to suffer the same thing again. "You just need to go. Isabelle isn't her daughter alone. She is also yours," he mentally told himself. Shutting his eyes for a few seconds, he sighed and opened them back. Just as he unlocked the door and was about to step out, he sighted Lexi running out of the house with an oversized gown that she clutched to avoid stepping on as she walked. His brows crinkled. Why was she running? Where was she going? She looked like she was in a haste, yet she didn't take a car with her. He suspected something and decided to discreetly follow her to find out what was h

GENERALSilence overwhelmed the atmosphere at the sound of the gunshot. Ryan glared at Jasmine, shocked and afraid. What was that sound? Where did it come from? "Mommy!" Isabelle cried out, her voice lingering in the air with a lot of worry mixed with it. Her voice jerked Ryan out of his reverie, and he looked behind him. That was when he realized what was happening. It turned out that the gunshot that reverberated in the room was real and Lexi had been shot instead. Blood gushed out of her side as she clutched it tightly with her hands. Her body shook. "Argh!" Lexi winced as her body hurriedly wallowed in the pool of pain. An excruciating pang of pain coursed through her like fire on dried leaves. Ryan blinked with his mouth widened, his eyes darkened, and tears rushed to his lids. What! Jasmine really did that...? "How dare you, Jasmine?" He growled. His voice resounded like thunder, sending fears down the spines of Jasmine and her men, but they were smart enough to conceal th

Unlocking her eyes swiftly in fear, she was shocked to find Jasmine, standing over her and pouring water over her and her daughter. The craziest part of it was it wasn't clean water, and it was already emitting a stench odor. She almost puked as the horrible smell drifted into her nose. Thankfully, she had shielded Isabelle, which protected her from the water. "What are you doing, Jasmine? What water is this?" She yelled at her, hovering over her daughter. Her voice was shaky and pathetic. None of her words wafted into Jasmine's ears. She didn't stop pouring the water until she finished the one in the bucket. Then, she flung the bucket away. She was totally not bothered and nonchalant about her actions. "And you think waking me up this way is the best way? How

It was already 8 pm, and she hadn't gotten back since she left home. She didn't dress extra when she left in the afternoon, so they didn't think where she was going was far. They wondered if she was still with Donald, as she had said before she left the house.Mr. Alexandra picked up his phone and put a call across to Donald, who picked up on the second ring. "Hello, President Alexandra," Donald greeted on the other side of the phone the moment he picked up. For some reason, he found the call surprising, and he was curious. Did something happen to Lexi?
