"Welcome, ma'am. Welcome, sir," Sarah greeted Lexi and Ryan as they returned from lunch.

Lexi responded with a smile and said, "Get me a cup of coffee." Darting her gaze over Donald, she asked, "Do you care for?"

"Uhm... Yes. A cup of coffee for me too," he replied, and Sarah left to carry out the task she was given.

Donald and Lexi sauntered into Lexi's office and went to settle in the visitor's corner, where there were two couches facing each other and a small table in between.

Five minutes later, Sarah returned with two cups of coffee and placed them carefully on the table.

"Thank you, Sarah," Donald muttered smilingly, and Sarah's face flushed. She lowered her head and nodded before she walked out.

Lexi picked up a cup of coffee, placed one leg on the other, and folded one of her arms as she took the cup to her lips. However, as she sipped the coffee, the door flew open.

The banging sound of the door made Lexi and Donald glance at each other, and they hurriedly stood up

I had the urge to laugh at him when I suspected him battling with his emotions, especially his temperament, but I held back. With what I did, I knew he would not come back to work for me henceforth, and I couldn't be happier. As I pretended to work, I felt Donald's gaze over me, and it made me uncomfortable. How could I have forgotten that I still have a lot to explain and it isn't over yet? Gosh! Can't he just let things be and pretend like nothing happened?"Don't you think you owe me an explanation?" My greatest worry happened. He finally broke the silence and demanded an explanation.I shut my eyes, gritted my teeth dejectedly, and shook my head unhurriedly. With a smile, I opened my eyes and raised my head."An explanation? What explanation?" I questioned, feigning ignorance, and I hoped he wouldn't drag up the issu

GENERALDonald stepped out of his car and walked straight into his flat. He was staying on the first floor of a two storey-building. Getting into his apartment, he tossed his bag, flinging it on the couch, removed his suit, undid his tie, and collapsed onto the couch, flopping his hands and leaning his head backward. He had been exhausted from the day's activities. It was evident in his eyes and the way he breathed. He took his phone and grimaced at the screen, which revealed Lexi's picture as the wallpaper, and he sighed. They didn't talk to each other since the argument. Lexi was too stubborn to apologize to him and he was also standing on his manly ego. He missed her.Swiping the phone, he went to the recent calls and stared at Lexi's number, contemplating whether to reach out to her or not. The urge to give in and call her first was strong but he overcame it, turned the phone off, hissed, and tossed the phone to the side.Sitting up, he thought about the whole thing. From the orig

GENERALJasmine's blood boiled. She thought Emily was about to act the way she acted the last time she was there to look for Ryan, so she had mentally prepared herself to return the same energy without being at the losing end. However, Emily surprised her when she got to where she was standing. She halted in front of Jasmine, folded her arms, and said, "You must not let go of Ryan. You will be a fool to lose this battle to Lexi," Emily spurted out, venom in her voice. The last thing she wanted was to have Lexi as her sister-in-law again.Deep down, she was a bit scared of her. Not after her last encounter with her. Lexi had become fearless and independent, which was her fear that she wouldn't be able to order her around the way she did in the past.Jasmine's guards crumbled immediately. She blinked and sniffed back the snots, threatening to fall out of her nostrils. "How, Emily? He clearly doesn't want me anymore. That wench has blinded his vision with her father's wealth," Jasmine le

LEXI"WHAT!" I blurted out, utterly speechless. This was all he claimed he found out. That Ryan was my ex-boyfriend? And how did he even come up with such a theory? I couldn't help but dart my gaze over him. Donald is everything a lady wants, but one thing is certain: he is slow."Don't even think of lying, Lexi. I know you guys had a relationship in the past, and he acted like a dick at the end, which was the reason you hated him so much." He continued defensively and unblinkingly. He was so certain about what he was saying.I felt the urge to erupt into laughter, but I held back, pinching myself and reminding myself that it would be rude to burst into laughter in this situation. Struggling with my laughter, I raised my head and shook it negatively. "You are wrong this time, Donald. He isn't my boyfriend or ex-boyfriend," I said, pausing briefly.Sighing, I continued, "He was once my stalker," I revealed, earning a deepened gaze and raised brows from Donald. He exclaimed, "What!""Ye

LEXI Two weeks later, "Have you packed the bags into the car?" I asked Ryan as we stepped out of the company. "Yes, ma'am. I packed everything you brought to the office this morning. He responded humbly, causing me to tilt my head and sway suspicious eyes over him. It had been two weeks since he started acting this way, and I didn't think I would ever get used to his new attitude. Did I say that I was disappointed when I realized that he hadn't returned to his usual self? Will I be called a mad woman if I confess that I prefer the old Ryan to the new one? Don't judge me. I'm certain every lady prefers the bad guys. I retracted my gaze and began walking to the car. Hopping into the backseat, Donald also joined from the other side. Ryan went to sit beside the driver taking us to the airport, and the journey began. Forty-five minutes later, we got to the airport and were assisted to the runaway by some of the staff there. The jet was there, shining and ready to fly us to Korea. "Do

LEXI"What! A storage room?" Everyone exclaimed; their eyes widened and fixed on me. I couldn't care less."Yeah! A storage room. Can't you do that for me?" I asked the manager with nonchalance. He gulped, finding my request weird. His eyes scrutinized the faces of everyone who was at the scene. He didn't know the best way to respond."I'm sorry, ma'am, but plans have been made for everyone coming, and his room is also ready in case you think he might be an additional cost to the organizers." The manager explained with a smile, hoping that I would understand, but I wasn't putting on a grin, which meant that I was damn serious with my request."I don't care if his room is available. This is what I want. Let him stay in your storage room," I stubbornly insisted, avoiding Donald's and Ryan's eyes. I knew that Ryan must be extremely shocked at this point, and he must be battling with his emotions because of the way his eyes were fixed on me unblinkingly."It is against the hotel's policy

RYANLexi is a bastard. If only I could pounce on her and claw her face with my fingers. She kept pushing me to the wall because she knew that I wouldn't be able to turn against her and attack her. How could she possibly ask me to stay in a storage room when there are hundreds of rooms in this gigantic hotel? She even proposed to pay a sum of three million dollars to them if they allowed me to stay in their storage room. Was that how much she hated me and wanted to punish me? Was that how much she wanted me to be humiliated every time? I scoffed, "You are so pathetic, Ryan. Your life is so pathetic." At this point, it looked impossible to win her to my side. She had changed. This wasn't the Lexi I knew. She wasn't the woman who would fall on her knees to beg for my love. The woman who was ready to do anything just to make me excited and touch her. I chuckled in my head. It all made sense. The same way she was ready to do anything to make me happy, the way she was ready to do anything

Yes, I wanted my company back, but I wouldn't stoop so low to do something as embarrassing as that. She didn't believe it. I could see the disappointment and pain in her eyes as she looked at me. The news headline says, "Alexandra Lexi and Ryan Middleton set to walk down the aisle as they got engaged yesterday in Korea." There was a picture of them at the hotel when Lexi was drunk and stumbled over Ryan's body. The angle the picture was taken made it seem as though they were in an intimate position. Lexi's eyes darted between the phone and Ryan. Her eyes darkened as inexplicable irritation swirled within her. It was glaring. It didn't need to be investigated. Ryan was the only person who could gain access to the photos because he was the only one who knew about what transpired between them aside from her. She snickered bitterly inwardly. She couldn't believe that he could be this desperate. This was the same man she had a plan of returning his position to when they returned to England.
