Arwena bit her lip, glancing at her friend, whose gaze now shifted between her, Tandre, and the doctor.

Thankfully, neither the doctor nor the nurse seemed to have overheard their conversation. Instead, they focused on examining Nathan. After confirming that the boy showed no visible complications or abnormalities, the doctor turned to Arwena and Archie.

“How is my... Nathan doing, doctor?” Archie hesitated, avoiding the word son in Tandre’s presence. He felt embarrassed claiming Nathan as his son when the boy’s real father stood right there.

For the first time, Archie understood why Arwena hadn’t told Tandre the truth about Nathan. It wasn’t just complicated—it was a tangled mess. His earlier plan to provoke Tandre with Nathan was now out of the question. Worse, Archie had no real claim to the boy. He was merely an uncle, while Tandre was the biological father.

“Your son is fine,” the doctor said reassuringly. “However, we’ll conduct further tests to ensure everything is in order. For

Arwena glanced down at her hand, which Tandre was now gently squeezing. With each squeeze, it felt like electricity was coursing through her body. Her heart pounded harder, struggling to keep up with its rhythm. She didn’t like what she was feeling. She pulled her hand away, cleared her throat, and approached her parents. But before she fully approached them, she glanced back at Tandre. She just wanted to see his reaction. She wanted to know if there was a spark in his eyes again, to see if he felt the same way she did. But all she saw was disappointment. He was still serious, and it looked like he was still angry at her.She let out a breath and gave a bitter smile. "Idiot! He was holding my hand, yet he’s still mad," Arwena grumbled to herself. How could Tandre not frown even more when she pulled her hand away? He thought she would let him hold her hand while she told her parents what had happened between them years ago. But no, it was as if Arwena was sending him the message that sh

"Sir, are you Jake Cuevas?" the police officer asked again, glancing at his cellphone to verify that he was speaking to the right person."Yeah, that's me," Jake stammered, clearly startled by their presence. Archie was also deeply suspicious of Tandre’s true motives. Did he genuinely want to be a father to Nathan, or was he merely trying to claim Arwena for himself? The question gnawed at him, and he shook his head in disbelief. His brother was something else entirely. When Tandre set his sights on something, he would always find a way to get it, no matter the cost.Tandre’s gaze narrowed as he met Archie’s eyes, fully aware of the anger simmering beneath the surface. He could sense the doubt in Archie’s mind. After all, what boyfriend wouldn’t be suspicious and hesitant about allowing his girlfriend to live with another man—especially when that man had a history with her?It seemed his plan to be involved with Nathan was now at risk, all thanks to Archie.Thinking quickly, Tandre devised a solution—one that he was certain Archie couldn’t refuse. “Fine,” Tandre said, his voice low, almost a whisper. “To stop your incessant talking and to avoid all the judgment you're so worried about… come

“What are you doing? Let go of me!” Arwena screamed, her voice raw with panic. She threw her elbow back, driving it with all her strength into the gut of the man who had grabbed her from behind. Her movements were frantic, fueled by desperation, but the man barely flinched. "Archie!" Tandre shouted. He had clearly seen Archie fall onto the road after being hit by a car.Tandre couldn’t explain it, but it was as though he could feel the pain his brother was enduring. "Archie, please wake up. I'm so sorry. You got hurt because of me. I’m sorry you were dragged into my mess," Arwena whispered, her voice weak and trembling. She blamed herself for everything.
