“Are you going to do something about it?” Ray asks again, seeing how relaxed I was while watching unknown men go into my apartment.

“Nah, let them have their fun.” I returned my attention back to Jade and switched out her towels again. Her temperature was starting to go back to normal now which I was happy about.

I could feel Ray’s eyes on me, questioning me so I looked up and quirked a brow, asking without words, what she want to say. I loved the fact that she was vocal. It is something I have started to see in Jade, who I knew usually bottled things up. There was no need to ask, it is clear as day whose influence that is.

“Don’t you have personal items in there? Maybe something you don’t want anyone to see?”

I shook my head as I wrung out the towel one last time and placed it on Jade’s forehead. I shook my hands away from the bed after I was done.

“No. Nothing important.” I wasn’t stupid to do that. “They are there for one thing, and they’ll find it.”
