Cass and I had a night of movies and girl talk while Chase was taking care of whatever it was he’d left me to do. I was assuming he was dealing with Doran.

I told her goodnight and retreated to Chase’s bed, sinking into the mattress and falling asleep so fast that I didn’t even remember my head hitting the pillow.

I was in a field. Not the field of flowers on palace grounds, though. A field of grass with hills and trees in the distance. A meadow. The air smelled crisp and clean, scents of fall in the air as I walked through the tall grass.

The breeze whispered to me, calling my name,

I looked around, searching for the source of the sound. It seemed to be everywhere and nowhere at once. As I walked, I could feel tingling in my fingertips and energy building in my body.

‘Bells, what’s happening?’, I asked my wolf.

‘We’re starting to change, Lyse. I can feel it too.’, she said, sounding more relaxed than I felt.

“Change how?’
