The bullet pierced her heart, and in an instant, she collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

As I looked at her body, which had been full of life just moments before, I felt nothing, no sympathy, no joy, no sorrow. She had been cruel to me, attempting to take my life on several occasions.

She was a terrible person, never once fulfilling the role of a mother, always prioritizing her daughter above all else.

“Take her body and burn it. She won’t have a grave; make sure of that,” Dominic ordered with disdain. His men moved forward, seizing her lifeless form and dragging her away.

Once they were gone, it was just the two of us. Dominic approached me, and I braced myself for a confrontation, expecting anger. Instead, he stood silently before me.

He was strong, holding back tears he didn’t need to shed, but I could see the depth of his pain. The guilt in his eyes struck me hard.

He took my hand, speaking with conviction.

“You belong to me, my body, everything is mine. I know you despise me, and

Dominic pov I felt miserable, I felt like a monster, I knelt there as I watched her walk away, and for the first time, I realized what my actions had caused her. How much I had hurt her, how I had pulled her heart out of her chest. I was broken, but not once did I shed a tear, she didn't deserve what I did to her, she deserved better than what I did. And I deserve to get the treatment she gives me, because of my reckless behavior, I hated myself for my actions, and my way of life, for how to had destroyed my family. Ivan was with my son, a son I didn't know existed until a few minutes ago, and I felt weak. Ivan probably was laughing in my face after what had happened, and I was ashamed of myself because she was right. I had personality pushed her into the arms of the enemy, and I had abandoned her and chased after someone who destroyed us, and took her away from me. It wasnt a shock that, Harper was a traitor, it was like I expected, and I had always ignored the signs, i c

Clarissa’s POVI didn’t look back as I walked away from him. I noticed Aiden standing there, and he made no effort to stop me, fully aware that he had been eavesdropping on our conversation.“I need to leave; I have to take one of the cars,” I stated firmly.“I can have one of my men drive you to your destination, is that alright?” he inquired, but I shook my head.“No, I prefer to be alone,” I replied as I continued walking. He made no attempt to stop me as I headed toward the garage, where I was acutely aware of Dominic's impressive collection of vehicles, from luxury cars to SUVs.I opened the door and got into the car, wrapping my arms around myself. I had cried so many times because of him, endured so much pain due to what he had put me through. But that was over.I wouldn’t shed another tear for him; he was dead to me. His redemption meant nothing, and I didn’t care about his feelings.Leaving the mansion was simple. I was going to take Ivan's offer, even though I had no idea wh

Clarissa’s POVI didn’t need to ask to understand he was referring to Dominic; his furious gaze was enough to confirm it, and I could only return his stare in silence.I was taken aback that Dominic was present, and I had no idea how he got here since I hadn’t brought him, except for the fact that the car had a tracker.“I will kill him, and I will revel in his blood, and I will place his head at your feet, Clarissa, I swear to you, mark my words,” he shouted, and I stood there, speechless.“Take her and ensure she doesn’t escape,” he commanded his men, who moved behind me and gestured for me to proceed. I made no effort to resist as I held my baby tightly. As I entered, a loud gunshot rang out, startling me. I was too stunned to speak, and my only focus was on calming my baby, who was wailing at the top of his lungs.“I need his bottle; he needs to eat,” I turned to tell the man, while I could hear gunfire outside, leading me to assume a shootout was occurring.“I don’t care, woman.

Third PovAs I saw her rush out of the house, my eyes widened and skipped a beat as I took in the baby clinging on to her, all I wanted right now was to kill I am and watch him burn in hell for what he did to me.He took her from. I hid her and tried to marry her for himself even when he knew she needed to belong to him. I clenched my fist as I looked at him, but seeing my son for the first time looking calm and relaxed.Though he was wailing, so loudly as Clarissa letter him, to make him quiet the boy wouldn't keep quiet. As I stood there, my heart raced faster than it should, and yet, my hand remained steady as I pulled out my gun. I locked eyes with her, Clarissa. I could see the fear in her eyes as Ivan hovered near, taunting her with every breath he took. But I had to act. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I will make it right,” I shouted as as pulled out a gun and fired. But to my horror, Ivan was too fast. Clarissa POV I ran. I didn’t stop to look back. I only wanted to get away from both of them. The baby in my arms wailed, his cries loud and desperate, as if he was begging me to stop. But I couldn’t. I held him tighter, silently thanking Ivan for dressing him in a thick fur jacket that kept the cold at bay as I pushed on. I wasn’t thinking straight when I bolted into the forest. It was a rushed decision, probably a foolish one, but I had no choice. I had to leave. The trees closed in around me as I ran, branches slapping at my face, but I didn’t care. The only thought in my mind was escape. My breath came in sharp gasps as the forest thickened, my legs aching from the strain. After what felt like forever, I stopped. My lungs burned, and I realized I had no idea where I was. The dark canopy above let in only slivers of the fading daylight. I had no sense of direction anymore. I looked down at the baby. His cries had turned to soft whimpers, and I shushed him gently. “It’s ok

“Vincent, please!” I begged, my voice raw. “You don’t have to do this. I’ll disappear. I’ll leave the country. No one will ever hear from us again, I swear.”He sighed, stepping closer, his face shadowed by the growing darkness of the forest. “Eve, you’re not getting it. This isn’t something you can run from. Not anymore. Do you think Ivan or Dominic will just let you vanish? They’ll hunt you down, no matter where you go, they are nowhere safe for you, e Owu with me.” he said as he grinned, I knew so well that his intentions weren’t good, something told me they weren’t, and I believed it.“I don’t care!” I shouted, my voice cracking. “I’ll keep running if I have to. I’ll protect him.”Vincent’s eyes flicked to the baby in my arms, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of hesitation. But it vanished as quickly as it appeared, replaced by that same cold, detached smirk. “You’re trying to protect him, I get it. But you don’t understand the bigger picture. That child… he’s not jus

As I looked at him all I saw was vengeance in his eyes, then I understood, he wanted revenge and wanted power.I knew and saw how Dominic treated him, but I didn’t see it as a bad thing, as Vincent had always been an ass, I knew he was snitching on Ivan as I was sure he came here to meet with him.I looked at him and I saw no remorse in his eyes, all I saw was so much hate, hate he had for Ivan and Dominic.“I have never done anything to you, my son has been in the woods too long, your fight with Ivan and Dominic let me go” I called out as I held my baby in my arms I could tell he was tired of wailing and could only Cry slowly as he gripped me.“I wouldn’t rest, and everyone would be the enemy until I get what I want” he snapped as he men came close to me. A year laterEverything had been going well; for the first time in my life, I didn’t have to run or live in fear. After the conflict, we held a large burial for the men who had lost their lives while protecting me and Harper.I ensured she received a proper burial, as she had sacrificed her life to save me in the end. She had been a wonderful sister, even though I had pushed her away time and again. We began to rebuild, and new laws were established within the mafia. Dominic sold our old house and moved us to the countryside. Everything seemed to be going smoothly; we renewed our vows after all the people we once knew were gone.It was just the two of us. We hadn’t heard from Valentina since then, only that they had paid a hefty price for killing our men. The last I heard, Valentino was forced to marry Camilla to a drug baron as their economy collapsed. It turned out they had gone bankrupt, which explained why they had tried to take everything from us.Life with Dominic has been wonder

Dominic squeezed the trigger, and the silencer did an excellent job of concealing the sound, preventing the men from realizing that their leader had been shot. For a brief moment, I feared he had killed her—that Valentina was lifeless. However, as she fell to the ground, clutching her shoulder, it became clear that he hadn’t delivered a fatal shot. He had only wounded her, just enough to ensure her survival but render her unable to defend herself.Initially, I thought his plan was foolish, but I placed my trust in him. He had used her to help us escape, a feat that had seemed impossible just moments ago. I had nearly lost hope of ever being alive or seeing my son again, but he made it a reality. We were finally safe.Dominic approached me, his dark eyes searching my face before he enveloped us both in his strong, steady embrace. It felt secure. I took a deep breath, burying my face in his chest. It was finally over."You can go now," he whispered, pressing his lips gently against my f

After my confrontation with both of them, theydraged me toward a van. My head throbbed, and my vision was blurry, but I could still make out the figures around me. Someone yanked the gun from my grasp as I was shoved into an SUV. Vincent drove, and Camila sat beside me. The sight of her still wearing Clarissa’s dress pissed me off. It was like she was mocking me—mocking us. No one spoke. The air was thick with tension, but I could feel Vincent’s anger radiating off him. I knew exactly why. The words I had said to him earlier still lingered in his mind, cutting deep. As for Camila, she was so rattled that she casually dropped the gun on the seat beside her and turned to stare out the window. It was a careless mistake, and I took full advantage of it. Swiftly, without drawing attention, I palmed the gun. By the time we arrived at the warehouse, my mind was sharp, my pulse steady. As soon as the SUV came to a stop, I opened the door and stepped out. Camila followed, but before

The air grew heavy with tension. My heart pounded as the door swung open again, and Dominic stepped inside. His dark eyes scanned the room, landing on me. Something flashed in his gaze—anger, concern, relief. He looked like a man ready to burn the world down for me. Would he?“mother, “valntina called, as she walked over to her and whispered in her ears.“Where the fuck is my son?”dominic asked the them , as hey turned to look at him.“camila , bring the boy to his parent”she ordered, camillla who walked out the door shuting it.But I knew what Valentina was about to do. She would make him choose. Me or his empire. Valentina clapped her hands together. "Ah, Dominic. So good of you to join us." "Cut the bullshit, Valentina." His voice was low, dangerous. "Let her go, and bring my son , i dont have tie for games" She smirked, taking a step toward him. "Now, why would I do that? You walked right into my trap, just as I knew you would." My wrists ached from the tight bonds cutting into my skin. My eyes were blindfolded, leaving me in a world of darkness. But I wasn’t alone. There was someone in front of me—singing. A soft, haunting tune. The voice was feminine, sultry, and laced with amusement. I knew it wa sher singing , tauting me.I shifted slightly, testing my restraints. Rope. Tight. No way out. My pulse pounded as I forced myself to breathe evenly. Panicking wouldn’t help me now. "You know," Valentina said, her voice smooth as silk, "I once loved a man."she started. My body stiffened. "I loved him so much, but then I realized men are shit, one moment they love ou and the next the cheat on ou with another woman" She chuckled, a dark, humorless sound. "People are shit." My jaw clenched. I didn’t respond. "I grew to become the only Donna in my county—a female one. And to hold power, I had to be ruthless. There was no room for softness, no space for love." The blindfold was suddenly ripped from my face

  • Chasing His Betrayed Ex-Wife   Chapter 113- The power of greed

Dominic POVI stared at Vincent, whose eyes gleamed with unrestrained greed. He wanted the empire I held—no, he craved it. It wasn’t just about power; it was about proving he was better than me, that he could tear down everything I built and reshape it in his image. I smirked. “This is your idea, isn’t it? This power struggle?” My voice carried amusement, but beneath it lay a sharp edge. Vincent frowned, his lips pressing into a tight line. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he snapped, his tone impatient, defensive. I stepped closer, my gaze never leaving his. “You held the empire for a week—just a week, Vincent—and in that time, everything our family worked so hard to build collapsed.” I let the words sink in, watching the flicker of irritation in his expression. “Now you want it again? To destroy everything and hand it over to these foreigners? Do you really think they’ll let you rule? No, Vincent, they’ll make you their puppet, and you’ll be dancing to their tune fo

  • Chasing His Betrayed Ex-Wife   Chapter 112- To lose everything, or to lose her

Dominic POVI drove like a madman. The engine roared beneath my grip as I pushed the car to its limits, weaving through traffic without care for rules or consequences. My men followed close behind, their headlights flashing in the rearview mirror as they ignored every law in existence just to keep up. I didn't care about the chaos we left behind. The only thing that mattered was her. My hands tightened on the steering wheel, my knuckles turning white. The thought of something happening to her, of losing her forever, made my chest tighten with unbearable fear. I had made a deal with that Mexican witch to take Ivan down, to regain the power that had been stripped from me—but now, the cost was staring me in the face. I should have known it wouldn’t be that simple. But i was deperate , deperate to have her as mine. The mansion came into view, its towering structure bathed in the cold moonlight. • Chasing His Betrayed Ex-Wife   Chapter 111- fear

I stood there, frozen. My breath hitched in my throat, my body locked in place as fear coursed through my veins. The world around me seemed to blur, the sounds distant and muffled, as if I had been submerged underwater. Panic tightened around my chest, squeezing the air from my lungs. "Miss, we need to go!" Elise’s urgent voice cut through the fog of my fear. I snapped back to reality, my wide eyes meeting hers. She was staring at me, her expression filled with alarm. "Now!" she urged, grabbing my wrist. I turned on my heel and ran, my heart pounding against my ribs. Panic took over, and my mind swirled with the worst possibilities. The thought that Harper had been killed, that she was gone, clawed at my sanity. She had been my enemy once, but despite everything, I loved her. No matter what had happened between us, losing her wasn’t something I could bear. Tears blurred my vision as I stepped outside, the cool air hitting my damp face. But I didn’t get far. I stopped dead.
