Chapter 27-Feasting with the enemy

The day went by as I spent it exploring the collection with Dominic. I never realized I could paint, and when I attempted to use a brush, I could only manage half of what I used to accomplish.

The night was lovely, and Dominic stayed by my side as we laughed and discussed everything that made sense while watching a movie.

He agreed to take things slow with me, which I truly appreciated, and I eventually drifted off to sleep in his arms. By morning, I woke up in my bed, and just as my feet touched the ground, there was a knock on my door.

I groaned and fell back onto the bed, wondering who it could be.

“Come in,” I called out, and the door opened. I expected to see a servant, but instead, it was Harper. She entered with a bright smile, which immediately made me uneasy.

“Harper... it’s nice to see you,” I said through clenched teeth, trying to maintain a pleasant expression.

“Oh, did I wake you? I’m so sorry if I did,” she said as she approached the bed. I stood up to receive her embra
