REINA

This second wine tasted a lot better than the previous one. But, even as I drank that. I still wanted to leave.

“Ethan. Ethan. Ethan. Ravenna.”

Those names kept on ringing in my ears. He is Ethan. Ethan is him and Ravenna is his wife.

I am in a bar alone with the man that I never wanted to be seen with. The man whose wife was someone that wanted me out of this world.

What was I even doing? Why was I so comfortable that I was sharing a drink with him?

Holy heavens! I'm just out of my mind.

I needed to go but I didn't know how. I have tried all I could to get myself out of here and find Raveena before she ruins my day but I could not.

Ethan has held me captive and won't allow me to leave his sight. I messed up big time reading that message in his presence.

I would have been more careful.

“I am sorry, Ethan. I think this short time we spent today was great and I really need to leave. Let's not forget that we have something to do.”

“I am aware. I never wanted to keep you here. A

REINA“Raveena!” I almost blurted out. I was terrified to the core and I knew that my Raveena had started to plan things that were silly. I looked beside me and saw that Ethan had been staring at me the whole time.“What's the matter? Now, I am certain that something is definitely wrong somewhere and you have no choice but to tell me,” he demanded.I wish he could understand that this is not something I see myself talking about, not anytime soon. I had a lot on my plate and staring here was not helping. I need to find Raveena before she finds me and spoils my day.“It is nothing. Let's go to the hall now. They need us,” I pleaded with him but he decided not to let me come with him.“They are still far away from needing us, Reina. I need you to open up to me and let me know what the problem is. Look, I don't bite. I know that we have had some misunderstanding but that doesn't stop me from helping you if I can,” he disclosed but that was not the problem that I had with him.“Like I s

REINA We both froze and stood still. I recognised that voice. I sure did. “Ravenna! What are you doing here? You should be at the launch. In the hall,” Ethan said, almost stuttering in between words.I was getting embarrassed on his behalf. But, my fear was greater than his embarrassment. I was scared of what Ravenna was going to do next. I just had to stay alert and prepare myself.I faced her and maintained eye contact with her so that she would get the impression that I was not afraid of whatever she was going to do.Besides, she was alone. I would do justice to this. I trust myself.“Stop It, Ethan. I am not in the mood for all of these. I had always known that you had been secretly seeing her. You should be ashamed for going back to your vomit,” she sneered at him but Ethan was not moved by her words. It was written all over his face that he does not love her and he does not see any future with her. But, as always Raveena would keep forcing herself on him even if that was the

REINA“Excuse me?”, I asked Ravenna, who was busy laughing from one end to another. “Are you surprised? Or, have I made you dead struck that you can't speak?” I shook my head continuously as she spoke to me. “Like, I said, Reina. I think the time has come for me to expose your wicked deeds and your lies. Not only to Ethan but to the world,” she revealed and she snapped her fingers.I didn't know how it happened. But, I began to hear heavy footsteps coming in our direction.Very soon people filled the room and they did not just come empty handed. They came with cameras and their phones were held up high as if they wanted to capture everything that was going on.“What is the meaning of this?” I yelled and Ethan on the no other hand who was long lost didn't like what he was seeing. But, Ravenna had her ways of calming him down.“Tell the whole world why you hide your son from your ex husband. The man who impregnated you and dumped you. Why do you parade yourself as someone without a c

EthanThat I was thorn between two ends was an understatement. I hate the way my thoughts run through my mind like a whirlwind.I was not okay. Deep down, the whole Saga that was playing out was making me go crazy. If it was true that Reina had a child that she hid for me for years, then I may never forgive her. And if it was true that Ravenna was lying about this, I won't forgive her too.“I know what you are Reina. But, what you are doing won't work,” Ravenna stressed.“I wonder why you are still emphasizing on this. Haven't I informed you that you are going to hear from my lawyer?” Reina asked. She looked so confident as she spoke to Reina. Someone who was accused of having skeletons in her cupboard was not meant to act this way. If she was guilty, she would have been shaking by now. My head was banging. I was confused. I couldn't choose who to believe.“Please, let's leave here now. We still have an event. Or, do you want this devil to spoil our event?” Reina asked me.She stres

REINAI was not wrong when I said that two people would trend that night. I did a good job in putting Ravenna in her place.Soon enough, the cops came to whisk her away before she could escape after the event.I watched as the cops handled her carefully. I wished that they didn't handle her that way. They would have handled her like the criminal that she was. That would have been better. She cried all through the time she was escorted out of the premises by the cops and I felt no pity for her.In fact, I felt so triumphant and I would celebrate my little win. It was funny how everything she planned against me backfired on her.My phone began to buzz as notifications came in from different blogs and social media handles. Everyone was talking about the launching of the Triple A and they didn't fail to mention the saga that happened earlier too.As I scrolled down, I saw a picture of Ravenna who was already disgraced by me and I smiled again.I knew that this would happen. Didn't I say

ETHANI could count so many times my heart has been shattered by this young lady. Yes, I allowed her to meet the man who texted her. Out of curiosity, I hid behind a pillar and watched as they exchanged pleasantries. She was so joyful around him. The smile on her face was something that she had refused to stop showing me.Now, that project is over. Her stay here has expired and still I was not able to get her back to myself.“I'm a failure. I can't be told otherwise,” I said, biting my lips. Reina was nothing but a woman who thinks I’m here to hurt her. She loves being awfully mouthy to me and keeps on releasing the energy.I watched as he asked her out for dinner and could not stay any longer for my heart to be shattered beyond this.I knew she was going to agree to go with him. I had to leave and give her space. I will not give up on her and there will be signs that I love her and want her to myself. She will see those signs. Walking away from where I hid, I had decided that at

ETHANThat was absurd.I could swear with my life that it was really absurd. “Excuse me?” I asked her. I was about to tell her to explain further what she meant by what she said. That statement made me so uncomfortable that my body began to inch me to get the truth out of her.“I knew it. You know nothing. That's why she is able to use you this way, making you forget that you have a fucking wife who needs your love,” she said.“Can you just go straight to the point?” I asked her.“Reina is hiding something from you. You have to trust every word that comes out of my mouth. I do not know why you find it hard to believe what I say but you will believe everything she says.”“That's not the truth. I try my best to see the truth in everything anyone says. You can't blame me that much, I am a human.”“You try? And everytime, I am the one telling lies? Is that what you are saying?” She asked.I didn't have the answer to her question. “I really want you to tell me everything you know. That'

ETHANThe last thing I could remember was that I walked out of the station with so much anger.I still could not believe my ears that I had to fulfill what she told me to fulfill, before she could tell me what she knew. The anger in me kept eating me deep and I decided to pull over at the nearest bar to cool off.I collected the keys from my driver and sent him back home. This week is an alone time for me. A time when I wanted to be by myself alone.I was gripped with shock when I saw the two people at a table closely.Really? Did she really have to do this? This was a slap in my face. I knew that we were nothing but I felt I would have been respected better.I was hurt beyond anything and I could hardly control myself. My tongue began to taste bitter as I watched them laugh and drink.Out of anger, I charged towards them, with my fist tightened.“Reina?” I scoffed, turning around to face her whose shoulder was occupied by the man wearer beside her.He looked good here and even after

Reina “Do you want a new car? Or a new apartment?” Ethan teased. “Anyone, my love. A Lamborghini won't be bad, you know.” I turned to face him, and there it was, the smile I had come to know and love over the years. It was the smile that had carried me through the darkest days, the one that had reassured me when I didn’t know how to move forward. The evening was calm and beautiful qne Andrew was at a friend’s house for a sleepover, and Ethan and I were alone for the first time in a while. Alone, but not lonely. We were never lonely when we had ourselves. “I’m looking,” I said softly, walking toward him. “And I see a family that’s been through hell and back, and yet we still survived it.” Ethan reached out to pull me into his arms and held me tight as if he was scared to let me go. “We have always been strong. It was just a matter of time before we realized it.” I rested my head on his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. This was home. This was everything

Reina It was a morning like any other, except it wasn’t. I had just received the news I had been waiting for, hoping for, but still uncertain if it would ever come true. I had gotten another job. It was a job that would challenge me, push me out of my comfort zone, and finally allow me to make a real name for myself in the world I had always longed to be part of. As I stood in the kitchen, staring at the email, I could not stop the tears that filled my eyes. I had worked so hard for this moment, and now that it was here, I was overwhelmed with gratitude and disbelief. “Reina? What’s wrong?” Ethan asked, stepping into the room. His voice was soft, and his concern was evident in his eyes. I couldn’t speak at first, so I just handed him my phone, pointing to the email. He took it from me, his eyes scanning the screen. His face lit up as he read the words. “Wait… you got it? You really got it?” I nodded, my throat tight. “Yes. It’s real, Ethan. They offered me the position. I t

Reina The day had finally come. The day I had been both dreading and hoping for. The day Ethan and I would renew our vows. I had spent so much time imagining what it would feel like, but now that the moment was here, I was filled with excitement and a little nervousness. After everything we had been through, I was not sure how I would feel standing up in front of our friends and family, saying the same vows we made years ago. But this time, I was going to say them with more meaning, more depth, and more love than I ever had before. Ethan had gone above and beyond to make this day perfect, and I had already walked into the garden where it would all happen. It looked like a dream. “Mommy, you look beautiful!” Andrew said, his eyes wide with admiration as he helped me adjust my dress. I laughed softly. “Thank you, baby. You look very handsome too.” He beamed in his little tuxedo, looking just like his father. When Ethan walked in to check on me, I could not help but smil

: A New Beginning (Ethan POV) --- I never thought I’d feel this nervous again. The last time I felt anything close to this was the first time I asked Reina out. But now, standing in our living room with the small box in my pocket, I felt like a teenager unsure if the girl would say yes. Andrew was asleep in his room, and Reina was curled up on the couch, reading a book. Her hair was loosely tied back, and she was wearing one of my old sweatshirts. She looked so comfortable, so at peace, and for a moment, I just stood there, watching her. “Why are you staring at me like that?” she asked, not even looking up from her book. I chuckled nervously. “Do I need a reason to stare at my wife?” She finally looked up, raising an eyebrow. “No, but it’s weird when you’re just standing there silently. What’s going on?” I took a deep breath and walked over, sitting beside her. “Reina, can we talk?” She frowned, closing her book. “Is something wrong?” “No, nothing’s wrong,” I assured her. “In

Ethan “ A therapist? We are going to see a therapist, Ethan?” Reina blurted out and I had to calm her down that it's for the better. “Yes. I made that decision and I have already paid for a session. It is a good thing and I think our marriage will get better.” “Oh dear. I'm just scared.” *** Sitting across from Reina in the therapist’s office felt a little weird and I was trying to keep up. This was the first time we had actually met with a therapist about us. The therapist, a calm woman in her mid-50s named Dr. Laura smiled gently at us. “Thank you for coming today. The first step to healing is often the hardest, so I commend you both for being here.” I glanced at Reina, who gave me a small, nervous smile. “We are ready,” I said, squeezing her hand. “Good. Why don’t we start with why you’re here? What made you decide to seek therapy now?” Dr. Laura asked. I looked at Reina, silently asking if she wanted to go first. She nodded and took a deep breath. “I think we h

Reina Evans was at my house again. This time, I was very convinced that he had something off his sleeves. How can someone who I haven't seen in years suddenly show up in the new country where I relocated to? Has he been stalking me all these years? Evans stood at the door, his hands shoved in his pockets, and today he looked so confident in himself. But, I was here to destroy whatever confidence he had. I had hoped I would see the last of him after his first visit, but here he was again, uninvited and unwelcome. “What are you doing here again, Evans? Haven't I told you that I don't want you around me?” I thundered and my pulse was racing. “I needed to talk to you,” he responded calmly, despite my raging anger. “I don’t think we got to finish our conversation the last time.” “There’s nothing left to talk about,” I said, stepping out onto the porch and closing the door behind me. I didn’t want Ethan or Andrew overhearing any of this. “Reina, please,” he said, his eyes pleadin

Ethan I didn’t know where I was driving. I just needed to get out of the house. My hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, my mind racing with thoughts of Reina, Evans, and everything that had gone wrong. Evans. Just hearing his name made my blood boil. The nerve of him to show up out of nowhere, to text me like he was some concerned friend. And Reina, why hadn’t she told me right away? She keeps doing things like this and it pisses me off. She of all people knows that something like this was the cause of our problem sometime ago. I pulled into an empty parking lot and turned off the engine. When I finally walked back into the house hours later, the living room was dimly lit, and Reina was sitting on the couch, her knees pulled up to her chest. She looked up as I entered, her eyes red and puffy. “You are back,” she said softly. I didn’t answer, dropping my keys on the table and heading for the kitchen. “Ethan,” she called after me with her voice trembling. I paused, leani

ReinaI was wiping down the kitchen counter when the doorbell rang. Andrew was upstairs, resting after a long day of physical therapy, and Ethan had stepped out to pick up a few things from the store. It was odd for someone to come by unannounced, especially at this hour. I wiped my hands on a towel and I headed for the door to check who was there. I was so curious and at the same time cautious that I checked the security camera three times. When I opened it, my heart stopped. I thought I was dreaming or something. “Evans,” I whispered, gripping the doorframe right. He was standing there, looking exactly as I remembered him. He was quite tall, with those piercing blue eyes and well shaved beards. But seeing him now didn’t fill me with the same warmth it once did. Instead, it felt like a bucket of cold water had been splashed over me.“Reina,” he said, his voice soft but steady. “I hope I’m not intruding.”“What are you doing here?” I asked, my voice sharper than I intended. He w

Ethan “Our anniversary was tomorrow?!” That was my exact reaction when I checked the calendar and I saw that I had long forgotten the date of our anniversary . An idea had come to me while sitting in the car, waiting for Reina to return from the grocery store. Our anniversary was tomorrow, and I wanted to do something special. Something that would remind her of the good times we had shared before everything got complicated.I had been racking my brain all week, trying to come up with the perfect plan. Reina deserved something meaningful, something that was not just flowers and a card. She needed to see how much she meant to me.“Okay, Ethan,” I muttered to myself as I parked in front of the house. “You will get our way around this.”The plan was simple yet heartfelt. I was planning a surprise dinner at the place where we had had our first official date before we got married. It was not the fanciest restaurant, but it held a special place in our hearts. I had reserved a private cor
