Chapter 6: Facing the next challenge

All that happened explained what the Alpha king told me was my next challenge; to sharpen my senses.

Letting me go home alone is one of the examples that could happen to me at any time. It's hard to maintain being active in my senses every second. If I have a mission to fulfill in the future, that is what I need to train myself.

In my current situation, honestly, this is the hard training I'm facing. But no one proceeds with an easier step than the previous challenge. The only thing I don't know now is, if there's a chance for me to get out of here.

But there is one question in my mind, what is the real reason why I need to train and why are Alpha King and Adam involved? Is there a reason behind his chasing me? I've been running away from him for almost 5 years, I don't know what his reason is. I mean, I know that he feels an attraction towards me, well... he often admits that but I'm not an Alpha Princess. I'm just a Beta Princess of one of the packs under their pack. My only question is, is he chasing me because he's mated with me? But how did that happen?

I don't see from him that he cares about me once he is done with his trips, for me to think that I'm his mate. Honestly, he just leaves me running away alone with his girls who are willing to mess up my life because of him.

It's so confusing, I don't understand! I mean I understood something but I don't want to assume. I mean, what if, I will be his future Luna but who am I to achieve that position? That's why, I chose to say that I don't understand the situation instead of assuming.

Anyways, I had to turn off my thoughts. I have to find a way to get out of this dark place. It's like a riddle, or a puzzle or a logic, and I think I can only see it in this projector pen.

Aside from the buttons, I noticed that I can rotate it. I tried turning it once. A new message appeared on the projector that hit the wall. 'That's why you're locked in this doorless room because you failed in your first challenge. Now, open your eyes.'

I breathed a sigh of despair. It was said in the message that the room has no door and I was surrounded by darkness. How can I sharpen my vision especially since I don't have a wolf yet? I tried moving the projector's light around.

I didn't see anything to the right, the projector light also passed the things from my direction to the wall that was hit by the light. I thought they were chairs, but they turned out to be large chess pawns made of thick wood. When I lighted the floor I was stepping on, it was like I was standing on a chess board with pawns inside. I moved the light to the left. I saw nothing but plain white walls. The wall behind me was the same as the wall in front—I mean, there was nothing written on the wall.

I moved the projector light up. I saw an egg shape attached to the very center. I'm curious about that but I don't know how to get it. Again, I wandered the light to any corner until it hit a bow hanging from a white rook. That bow also gave me curiosity but I think I can use that to get the egg shape on the ceiling.

I took that from the white rook. When I saw that it was fully equipped, I realized that this bow was prepared for me. I put the pen projector in my mouth, I had to adjust the position while aiming the arrow at the egg shape above.

When I released the arrow, I hit the egg shape and it fell to the floor. I approached the egg shape and picked it up. It seemed to open so I didn't hesitate to look inside. It is also a letter and it says, 'Kill the most powerful.'

My brows knitted, that's all I read in the message and nothing else. I thought of something the letter might be referring to. And since I'm here in the room with the pawns, the letter might be referring to one of them which is powerful. To play chess is not in my vocabulary, but the letter seems to say that this is what I should play, and what it refers to as powerful is none other than the queen.

I just don't know how to play chess especially since it looks like I'm the only one here and I don't have anyone else with me. I wonder who I'm with. I just decided to move a pawn. I was shocked to notice that I can push it ahead. Black pawn moves automatically and this game seems to have an automatic opponent. 

I moved the rook to line 3 third white box. The rook moves to the black side line 6 third Black box. Using the rook, I kill the black pawn then the black rook move to kill my white pawn. I moved my queen to where my pawn came from. The black rook on the left side moved forward. I check my white rook, the black queen moves out. It matched my queen and it was my turn to move it then viola! I killed the most powerful piece of black chess.

Not long after, the place I was in shook and the wall moved, it swung open and revealed another room to me. My mind was asking whose room it was, my feet just took a step and when I got out of the room with chess inside it shook again. I turned around for a moment when it is completely closed and started to find out whose room I was in then.

I heard some footsteps, apart from the footsteps there was clapping of hands. I heard a male voice say, "You make me proud, Dessy. Good job!"

My lips parted, the room I'm in now is none other than Adam's! And now, he was standing in front of me as if he had just finished taking a shower and was only covered with a towel. I automatically covered my eyes so that I could no longer stare at his hot physique as I yells, "I really don't understand why I'm here! What do you need from me, Adam?!"

And he answered, "You played as the white queen and you beat the black queen. That means you are a queen." I felt him grab my arm and pull me closer to him. His warm breath hit my ear while whispering hoarsely, "I want you to be my queen, wit dear."
