ELORA’S POV
At this moment, I should have moved my feet and run. But for some weird reason, my body froze on the spot.
There was something in the way he looked at me that made my knees wobble. I was like this already when I caught his indifferent gaze. But when I heard his voice the first time, I felt that my heart stopped beating for a short while.
“WHO are you?”
His deep, husky voice echoed through my ears. His demeanor was shouting danger yet I found it incredibly sexy. And yet, I restrained myself. I should not be blinded by how good he sounded. I knew too well how ruthless the Alpha King was.
Perhaps I zoned out with convincing myself how dangerous the alpha of the Royal Cavern was that I failed to realize that he was already a few inches from where I was standing. Once again, his pair of electric orbs bewitched me, keeping me motionless and out of words.
“I won’t repeat my question. Answer me,” he said while lifting my chin. Damn! Why am I acting like this in front of this dangerous alpha?
Gathering the remaining strength inside of me, I whispered audibly. “Victoria… My name is Victoria Collins,” I stuttered as I tried my best to keep on standing.
Hiding my identity under a fake name was the most logical thing to do. While I was afraid of the things he could do to me once he found out I was lying, I couldn’t risk being found by my uncle. This was a risk worth taking given my current situation.
“Victoria…” he repeated as he scanned me with his sharp eyes. Finally, he let go of my face. This time, the rest of the guards arrived.
“Bring this woman to a better room. Make sure she will be cleaned, fed, and dressed nicely. From now on, she would stay with us,” he commanded with much authority. While some of the guards, including me, were shocked by his decree, no one attempted to question his words. With that, he left me with the rest of the guards.
A few minutes later, I was led by one of the guards to what seemed like a guest room in one of their towers. My jaw dropped realizing that the room was twice as big as my uncle’s room back in our pack. It was so big and elegant that I almost forget that I was in dangerous territory. Sighing, I sat on the bed for a few seconds before letting my back fall on it. It made me groan in pleasure as I had never felt a mattress as soft as this in my entire life.
‘Whoa! Did you hear that, Elora? The Alpha King wants us to stay here and will look after us from now on. Isn’t he the sweetest?’ Arwen screamed inside my head. I could imagine her rolling in joy at the moment. I didn’t want to spoil her happiness but hearing the stories about the famed Alpha King, it would be hard for me to let my guard down in this simple display of happiness.
“Don’t be too excited. Alpha King Dominic is a ruthless alpha. We don’t know what’s running inside his head.
‘What are you saying? Our mate is an Alpha King. Aren’t you happy that after years of living as a rogue, we finally had a roof on top of our heads and would never go hungry again?’
I rolled my eyes and sighed once more. “What I am saying is to not trust him that easily. You know what his reputation is, right? Not only he is known for his cruelty, but he is also a playboy. What made you think he would be loyal to us? Remember, we are nothing but a filthy rogue in everyone’s eyes.”
‘Well, you have a point there. I guess...’ Arwen didn’t say anything else after that, letting me immerse myself in my thoughts on how to protect myself while in Alpha’s Dominic territory.
My train of thought was interrupted when a maid came inside.
“Greetings, Luna. Pardon my interruption. My name is Maira and I am the omega assigned to serve you.” She bowed her head as a sign of respect and continued, “It would be my pleasure to assist the future Luna of the Royal Cavern Pack.
Arwen felt giddy inside while my cheeks heated in shame. Did we hear what this omega had said? Did she address me as…Luna?
Seeing Maira with a still lowered head, I came to her and let her stand straight. “Oh, please! Don’t do that!”
“But—”
“No buts, okay? Don’t call me Luna, just Victoria,” I uttered while posing my sweetest smile. Maira was still surprised but no longer uttered a single word. Instead, she prepared my bath, gave me a set of nice, clean clothes, and brought a tray of food for me to munch on.
The food she brought was a feast and I let myself indulge in it. All the while, Maira remained silent, not daring to move or speak without prior notice. Her presence made me feel awkward yet I let it slide. I wondered what the other members of Royal Cavern felt having me here.
After I was done, Maira dismissed herself. Bored, I decided to roam around. But a few minutes into strolling, I bumped into a woman that would soon become the thorn in my side.
“So the gossips are true,” a beautiful woman muttered as soon as we bumped our way into the corridor. She twitched her lips while looking at me disgustingly from head to toe. For some reason, she hated me and I would soon know why. “You are still here.”
Her hateful looks were enough for me to avoid her but the woman had no plans of letting me go that easily. She grabbed my arm, with eyes full of rage. “You better stop thinking that you will become the Luna of this pack. Dream on but it will never happen!”
Frowning, I replied through my gritted teeth, “I don’t know what you mean. Who are you and why are you telling me this?”
The woman held my arm tighter, with her long nails already digging through my skin. “The name is Ashley Blake, the future Luna of the great Alpha Dominic.”
Arwen was ready to claw her face but I subdued her. While I didn’t like that someone was threatening us face to face like this, I also understand that I was stepping into the thin ice staying here in their pack.
Surprisingly, Ashley let go of my arm but not before leaning her head into my ear and whispering something.
“Wanna know a secret? The great Alpha King only shared his bed with me. In fact, I am on my way to his chamber to satisfy his need for my body. If I were you, I will leave this instant. You will only embarrass yourself if you continue to stay. You are not needed here.”.
‘That filthy bitch! How dare she talk like that when she was nothing but the alpha’s slut?!’ Arwen yelled in my mind. She was furious and I couldn’t blame her. In fact, I felt the same hearing the woman’s insults.
“What? You don’t believe that I am the Alpha King’s lover? How pathetic! If that’s the case, why don’t you come with me to his room so he can confirm how I was able to satisfy his—”
“Shut up,” I yelled, not thinking about the consequence of what I did. The woman looked at me with disbelief. Perhaps she wasn’t expecting me to retaliate like that.
“Did you just tell me to shut up? How dare you!”
“Yes, I did,” I said without backing down. “You call yourself the Alpha King’s love when you were nothing to him but a slut ready to warm his bed. At least I didn’t have to use my body to gain favors from him. Who's more pathetic now?”
I didn’t know what had gotten into me but her words triggered me. Gone were the days that I would cry into my bed when someone insulted and degraded me. The wild forest had taught me to stand up for myself, and I couldn’t be any more proud of what I achieved.
“You ugly, good-for-nothing rogue!” She raised her hand, ready to slap me in the face. But before her hand hit me, a familiar voice asked from behind.
“What the hell is going on here?”
Ashley looked alarmed and in a blink of an eye, her demeanor changed into a gentle sheep.
“Oh, nothing. I just greeted our guest.” With that, Ashley strode away but not before throwing me an I-will-get-you-next-time look.
I was left alone with the mysterious man who looked very familiar. After a few minutes of staring at his face, I finally remembered where I met him. He was the one who grabbed me yesterday!
“Do you need someone to show you around?” He asked in a gentle voice. Unlike yesterday, he seemed kinder and harmless but my lips remained shut. He might have sensed my discomfort. With that, he smiled and said, “My name’s Hunter, the royal beta. I am sorry about yesterday. I can show you around if you want,” he added.
Who knows how many sluts the Alpha King was having, and I didn’t have much energy to deal with them one by one. So, I accepted Hunter’s offer. In return, he gave me a nice tour. But the smile disappeared from my face the moment when I noticed some carvings on the wall. It was a list of all the pack names and their current alphas throughout the continent. Curious, I began to read through them quietly. But my anger rose when I read a familiar name I detest. It was my Uncle Lucian’s name, sitting proudly next to my beloved Moon River Pack!
“Remember this, Arwen. One day, this bastard will pay for what he did to my family.”
‘Yes, Elora. We will give your family the justice they deserved from that prick!’ Arwen answered inside my head.
“Is something wrong?” Hunter asked. He probably noticed my dark expression.
I didn’t say anything to him and just shook my head. After thanking him for the short tour, I decided to go back to my room. I could only count on myself and Arwen. No one should know about my true identity or else, I would die before I could exact my revenge.
Tired, I decided to calm myself under a hot bath. I was in the middle of taking off my shirt when I heard something that freaked me out.
“Where have you been?” Alpha Dominic’s voice roared like thunder ready to strike me.
But somehow, I felt giddy and excited hearing his dangerous voice. However, I decided to keep it within me. My body was shaking, not because I feared him, but because I was furious hearing about his sexcapades with Ashley. How could he be this demanding if I knew that he was fucking another woman every night?
Feeling hurt, I decided to ignore him. Big mistake, for I saw Alpha Dominic flushed in rage. He walked towards me and pinned me against the wall.
“When I asked you something, rogue, make sure to provide me an answer!” I flinched for a moment with his use of Alpha's voice but that didn’t bother me for long. He wasn’t my alpha so I have no obligation to follow his lead.
“Oh, baby.” The mood inside the bedroom changed for the worse when Ashley stormed in with fake tears flooding her eyes.
“Ashley,” Dominic became alarmed hearing his woman’s distress so he released me and opened his arms to her.
I smirked, losing every inch of respect I had for my so-called mate. He wanted me to obey him when he couldn’t even show respect to his mate. What an asshole!
Ashley started sobbing like an amateur actress while pointing at me. “That woman! She called me a slut and insulted me when all I want is to be friends with her. Oh, baby! She humiliated me in front of Beta Hunter!”
Ashley buried her face in Dominic’s chest. By the looks of it, Alpha Dominic seemed to buy her mediocre acting.
“What can I do to make you feel better, Ash?” Alpha Dominic asked lovingly.
Ashley looked into his eyes, pleading, “You have to punish her for me. I’ve never felt so low in my entire life. I can’t believe that I had to experience all these just because I serve you. I deserve better than this!”
“Alright,” the Alpha replied.
What the heck? Is he that stupid to believe her words without even taking my side?
Alpha Dominic kissed Ashley’s forehead while looking at me with anger in his eyes. “From now on, you will become an omega and Ashley’s personal maid. I hope this will teach you lessons about humility and respect, ” he added. Meanwhile, Ashley posed a victorious smile.
Damn! What did I put myself into?
Hearing the Alpha’s words, I froze on my spot, seething, and trying to suppress my anger from emerging inside me. The rage that was lingering within the corners of my body stayed until I reached the omega’s quarters. I heaved a sigh, remembering how he punished me that easily just because his slut said so.Are mates supposed to be like that? And even if we aren’t mates, isn’t it proper to take my side of the story too in the name of fairness and just?‘I know you are still mad at him,’ Arwen uttered softly in my head, trying to justify Alpha Dominic’s action. “Mad?” I rolled my eyes hearing her. “I am not mad at him. I fucking hate him!” ‘Don’t be like that, Elora. He is still our mate and the Alpha King. It is much better if you will obey his every word. It’s for the best.’“Obey him? Are you out of your mind?” I responded, opening the curtains of my new room in the process. “I would never submit to a shallow man like him. You know what? I didn’t have to put up with all of this. I
ELORA’S POVI didn’t know where I get the courage to ask him that. Perhaps the complicated emotions circling the way we met had taken their toll on me. Or maybe, I was just looking for some answers regarding the way he was treating me. We were supposed to be mates, yet, I didn’t feel that whenever he was around. “Are you that dumb to not figure out why?” he asked arrogantly. “Imagine the shame I would be getting if the world would know about you. You are nothing but an embarrassment to me and my pack. I don’t know why the moon goddess chose a disgusting rogue like you to become my mate.”For the first time since we met, I was out of words. The way he delivered those sentences was like sharp daggers piercing through the depths of my soul. My chest tightened to the sting of pain yet I tried my best to ignore it. I shouldn’t feel like this but somehow, my body reacted differently and I couldn’t control it. ‘Tell him the truth, Elora! Tell him you are not a rogue but an Alpha’s daughte
ELORA’S POVIf I had stayed with Beta Hunter a minute longer, I wouldn’t have had to face my mate with his slut in his arms once again. Obviously, my wolf was hurt. Unexpectedly, so was I…I wanted to curse the mate bond for feeling this way and yet I knew that this was a bond with divine origin. It was created by the moon goddess herself, making it both sacred and indisputable. So I guess I had no choice but to deal with this shit, not until I found a way to run away from this hell.Yeah, that’s the plan. And so, I continued walking. I paused and curtsied when I became nearer before dismissing myself with my head held high. I almost heaved a sigh of relief when Alpha Dominic didn’t say a thing but my nightmare was far from being over. “What is that smell?” Ashley asked, walking toward me and sniffing deeply. Seconds later, her face lit up. “I knew that smell, it was from Beta Hunter. Wait, don’t tell me you moved your interest in him now? Did you flirt with him?”I rolled my eyes
ELORA’S POV THE next morning, I was greeted by an empty room. Maira was no longer on her bed. She probably woke up early to do her chores. Meanwhile, I silently thanked the goddess for this opportunity. It would be hard for me to prepare for my journey if Maira was still around. Without wasting any more time, I started packing. I couldn’t contain the happiness I was feeling. For today, I would be leaving this place, making everything that happened in the past few days nothing but unwanted memories. ‘Are you sure you wanted to leave? Is there anything I can do or say that would change your mind?’ Arwen asked. Her face was a picture of sadness. I shook my head and continued packing my things. “Start forgetting him, Arwen. He’s not worth it.” When I was done packing, I tiptoed near the door. As I pressed my ears to the hard, wooden door, I heard some footsteps on the other side. The earthy, manly smell indicated that the guards assigned to watch over me were just standing by. My
Elora’s POVI had gone from hell and back since my parents died. And today, it made me remember all that.My breath hitched as I tried my best not to let my sobs hear. It had been a while since I last heard my uncle’s voice but the memories it imprinted on my mind were as clear as water. My nightmares were filled with his croaky, cold vocals. I thought I had forgotten it but obviously, I didn’t. Now, my system was filled with unwanted memories. All because of him. ‘Calm down. Your uncle hasn’t seen you in three years. He might have forgotten how you smell.’The words of my wolf gave me some assurance. She was right, three years was quite a long time for him to remember how I smell. I also shifted to my wolf form around this time so it affected my scent. Arwen got a solid point about her argument. ‘Breath, Elora. You can do this,’ Arwen added. After a few seconds, my heart rate became normal and I could feel that my body was no longer tense. Thank the goddess, I had a reasonable and
Dominic’s POVI slammed the papers on top of my desk, frustrated that until now, the paperwork didn’t seem to end. I had been scanning my eyes through this the moment I woke up and yet, nothing seemed to enter my head. Lazily, I leaned my back in my office chair and looked at the ceiling. I had been an Alpha King for years and the administrative tasks were part of my life. I ate mountains of paper for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if there was no training, pack convergence, or out-of-the-pack trips I had to attend. These never bored me, for I took my duties and responsibilities very seriously. Some even joked that I was married to my post, which I didn’t mind for it was the truth. So what’s wrong with me? Why am I feeling this way? I only started acting strange ever since Victoria Collins entered my pack. Ah, that woman. She hadn’t been here for a week but the damage she inflicted was far beyond any rogue had done to the Royal Cavern. She constantly quarreled with sweet Ashley, the
Elora’s POVMy feet went to a sudden halt hearing him utter my real name for the first time. I remained rooted in my spot, still trying to figure out what I should do next. ‘He already knows the truth, Elora. What are we going to do?’ Normally, Arwen was the one who would tell me what to do. But now, even she was caught off guard by the turn of events.A few hours ago, I was so sure that I would be leaving this pack for good. But now, my very existence was being threatened by the truth that I was desperately hiding for three years. There was no point in hiding the truth from Dominic. He was an intelligent wolf and probably read between my lines. I wanted to scold myself for being so emotional. Maybe, I wouldn’t be caught lying only if I hid my emotions expertly in front of the Alpha King. Yeah, I screwed up, and would probably be the end of me. But, no! I wouldn’t let myself be handed over to my evil uncle that easily. I would not give him the satisfaction. If I had to fight Domini
Silence engulfed us over the next set of minutes. I turned my head on him, and he did the same. Our eyes met in the process. Lub-dub!My heartbeat became louder. It was like my chest was going to explode. I knew to myself that I hated the Alpha King but at that moment, I saw something different in his eyes making me think twice about what I felt for him. Is that a hint of concern? Compassion? I have no idea. His eyes remained fixed on mine, making me uncomfortable. It was different from the way he looked at me in the past. His gaze was full of warmth. Finally, he moved. He lifted his hand and began caressing my upper arm. In a normal circumstance, I might have shoved his hand away. But this moment was different. No, it was he who suddenly became different. Is he beginning to sympathize with me? ‘Can’t you feel it, Elora? Dominic’s heart is aching for us’ Arwen stated.‘How did you know? Have you talked to his wolf?’ I asked her back in my thoughts.‘No, I haven’t,’ Arwen answered
Shea's POV"Where the hell is your father, Bradley! He swore to be here with me always, but where is he?!" I vented at my firstborn, clutching my belly. It had grown so big, resembling a watermelon that I had swallowed whole. It wasn't surprising, considering I was carrying Hektor's twins."Calm down, Mommy! Daddy would be here any moment. I am sure he is on his way," he answered. "He is right, Shea. Come on. Let me help you deliver your twins. My grandsons are ready to come out," my mother, Elora, encouraged as I shifted my attention to her.I gritted my teeth while I endured the throbbing pain in my stomach. My twins wanted to come out in the world, but I wouldn't let them until their father was by my side. When I delivered Bradley, Hektor was not on my side. So, we promised each other that this time, he would be present as I birthed our twins. "Come on, Shea. Don't be stubborn. Your husband is gonna be here soon. Let's go inside so you can free yourself from this pain. Let your t
Shea’s POVAfter what felt like an eternity, the guard finally disappeared into the castle to bring my family out. I stood there, my heart pounding, anxiously awaiting their arrival. The castle doors swung open, and my eyes locked with Mom, Dad, and Ajax, who stepped out into the sunlight. Their faces were etched with surprise and disbelief, mirroring the emotions swirling within me."Mom! Dad! Ajax!" I called out, my voice trembling with joy and relief. Tears welled up in my eyes as I ran toward them, unable to contain my emotions any longer. My legs moved as if guided by pure instinct, carrying me closer to the people who meant the world to me.They stood there, frozen in astonishment, their eyes wide with shock. It was as if time had paused for a moment, allowing our eyes to meet and our souls to reconnect. The distance between us narrowed with every step, until at last, I threw myself into their outstretched arms."Sweetheart, is it really you?" Mom's voice quivered with a mixtur
Shea’s POVI live as a rogue now, far from the princess life I once knew in the Royal Pack. I approached our simple shelter and smelled the aroma of roasted herbs in the air. Opening the creaky wooden door, I saw Vlad, illuminated by warm light from inside. He looked relieved and proud as he saw me, and his face brightened with a gentle smile."Welcome back, Shea!" Vlad exclaimed happily. "And look who's here to greet you!"Beside Vlad stood a young boy, his eyes wide with curiosity and excitement. My heart skipped a beat."Mommy!" I smiled widely, reaching out my hand to welcome him. Yes, I found out I was pregnant when I left the White Fang Castle five years ago and Bradley was the fruit of it. I knelt down, letting the game fall from my shoulder, and smiled at my little boy.He looked at me intently and reached out to touch my shoulder. "You're really strong, Mommy," he said in awe. I ruffled his hair in return, making him pout. I glanced at Vlad, my eyes filled with gratitude.
Hektor's POVI can’t believe that five years have flown by…I stand on the balcony of my luxurious chamber, gazing at the vast territory of the Royal Pack. It's like a beautiful painting, with lush greens, towering trees, and colorful wildflowers. Suddenly, I thought about the White Fang Castle.I shut my eyes, remembering it very vividly. The sun's warm rays bathed me in golden light as kept my eyes shut, recalling the grandeur of the castle. The library's scent of old books, the mouthwatering aroma of feasts in the dining hall, and the laughter that echoed through its corridors during celebrations. Memories of my childhood flooded my mind. Ah…the nostalgia it brings. I went back to my room and quickly put on my training clothes. Even though memories of the White Fang Castle still floated in my mind, I felt a sense of comfort in my new home, in the Royal Pack. I decided to focus on the present and leave the past behind as I started my day.Walking through the training ground, a fe
Hektor’s POVI jolted awake, my body drenched in sweat, my heart pounding in my chest. The nightmare had shattered my peace, bringing back haunting memories of my mother's treachery and the twisted acts she forced upon me and Pops. It left me hollow, like an endless abyss of despair. With a heavy sigh, I dragged myself to the bathroom, craving the soothing embrace of a warm shower. The hot water cascaded over me as if trying to wash away my worries and anxiety, even if just for a fleeting moment. But the putrid stench of my mother's lies clung to me, making me cringe in revulsion.Shit! When will this nightmare end? Once the water ceased its gentle flow, my thoughts drifted to Shea, my lovely mate. I rushed out of the bathroom, searching for her possible whereabouts inside our chambers but my search was futile. My mind convinced me she must be in the kitchen, so I rushed there, my heart pounding with a growing sense of dread. I need to see her. Her presence is like a vitamin that I
Shea’s POVA whole week had slipped by, like sand through my fingers. The Royal Pack had finally reached an agreement of peace with White Fang Castle. It turned out that Yamir was nothing more than a pawn, a victim of Ashley's cunning lies. Dad also acknowledged his sacrifice in saving Mom so he showed mercy and granted them a pardon. He even arranged for a proper burial for Yamir, a final act of respect. Mom, on the other hand, remained in a deep slumber, but we were relieved that she was safe and out of harm’s way. Inside the White Fang Castle, we gathered to discuss our uncertain future. We pondered what lay ahead now that Yamir and Ashley were gone, leaving Hektor in charge. While everyone was engrossed in the meeting, I found myself at my mother's bedside, replaying all the cruel words I had hurled at her. Guilt weighed heavily on my heart, and tears streamed down my face as I clutched her hand. I“Mom, can you hear me?” I asked. But she remained motionless, sleeping peacefully
Shea’s POVChaos consumed everything around me, and I felt my heart race with panic. The shocking realization hit Hektor like a thunderbolt. The weight of that truth seemed to crush him, leaving him speechless.Mom’s life slipped away before our eyes, and I found myself paralyzed, unsure of what to do. At that moment, Ashley's callous laughter filled the air. Mom and Dad’s words were proven right all along.“Hahaha! Finally, I can sleep at night knowing that—”Driven by an unseen force, without any warning, Dad charged forward, unleashing a storm of fury. His fists struck like wild animals, pounding relentlessly on Ashley's fragile body. Each blow expressed his pain, a desperate cry for justice. The place echoed with the sickening sound of flesh hitting bone, a terrifying display of revenge. No one dared interfere, frozen by the horrifying scene.Between his clenched teeth, Dad whispered with chilling intensity, his voice cutting through the violence. His gaze locked onto Ashley's eye
Shea’s POVDad froze mid-strike, his eyes widening with a mixture of shock and disbelief. The place fell into an eerie silence as the weight of my words settled upon us all. Hektor, battered and bruised, looked up at me with uncertainty. He had never expected my confession, let alone in the midst of such a volatile confrontation.Dad’s eyes fixated on me. His voice quivered as he questioned the truth behind my words. “Did I hear you correctly, Shea? Is this man your destined mate?”“Yes, Dad,” tears run down my face. “Hektor is the one. He is the man I was waiting to meet all my life.” “No…”“It’s true, Dad. In fact, I was already marked by him. I already accepted our bond with all my heart and soul. ” The weight of my revelation hit Dad like a thunderbolt, causing him to release Hektor and drop to the ground in shock. Hektor instinctively took a step back, while tears streamed down my face as I rushed to his side, filled with worry for his well-being.“Are you okay, my love?” I qu
Shea’s POVThere was a sense of imminent danger in the air, urging us to hurry. We raced out of our room and into the open, readying ourselves for whatever awaited us.As we stepped outside, a startling scene unfolded—the castle was surrounded by a powerful fleet. I quickly spotted my parents, Elora and Dominic, standing amidst their loyal Beta, Uncle Hunter and a group of warriors. Worry and curiosity mingled within me, compelling me to ask about their unexpected presence."Why are you here?" I asked, my voice trembling slightly. The words slipped out before I fully grasped the situation.“What kind of question is that? Of course we came here to rescue you,” Dad exclaimed, responding with genuine concern, confessing their desire to rescue me. But I couldn't accept their offer, not after everything I learned about my mother’s evil acts. “Go back to the Royal Pack, Dad. I am not coming with you,” I stated with conviction, making them raise their eyebrows in confusion. “What are you s
