Sharlynn, starting to feel unbearably sleepy, closed her eyes while still sitting up.

Occasionally, Richie, who was in the chair, looked at her. He wanted to warn her to lie down immediately if she could not resist her sleepiness, but he decided against it because he did not want to startle Sharlynn.
