"Elena and I were madly in love," Declan began, his voice barely a whisper, and my breath caught in my throat. He paused, letting the weight of his words settle over the room. I clenched my fists, feeling the sharp sting of my nails digging into my palms.
"What... what are you talking about, Declan?" I managed to choke out, my voice trembling. He turned his gaze toward me, his eyes hard.
"On the day I attempted to take my life," he continued, "I received a letter and a dagger from Elena. I recognized her handwriting immediately. Every curve of every word was hers." His voice wavered for a moment, a flicker of the old Declan surfacing, but then he forced it down, his expression hardening.
"In the letter, she revealed that Alpha Alexander had decided to marry her off to a disabled man. She pleaded for me to take a stand for her, and if I failed, she threatened to end her life with the very same poisoned dagger she had sent me. I did what she wanted. That’s all I knew." His voice grew colder, each word hitting me like a blow.
"Why, Declan?" I asked, a sob breaking free from my chest. My voice cracked, and tears blurred my vision. He glanced at me then, his eyes empty, like a stranger wearing Declan's face. His mouth twisted into a bitter smile.
"You wouldn't have understood," he said dismissively, as if my pain meant nothing, as if I meant nothing. Then he turned away, his back to me, cutting off whatever connection we once had.
The last bit of resistance and courage left me like a broken thread snapping in the wind. My legs buckled, and I collapsed to my knees, the weight of betrayal crushing me. My sobs echoed in the silence, but no one moved to help.
“Now, it is time for punishment. Alpha Logan, you are free to decide her punishment.” The Alpha King's voice rang out, cold and triumphant, a cruel smile tugging at the corner of his lips. His pleasure was evident, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction as he watched my despair.
Alpha Logan rose from his seat, each step heavy with purpose as he began to close in around me. His eyes burned with malice, and I could see no trace of mercy in them. It felt like the walls of the hall were closing in, the air growing colder with every breath.
The inevitable approach of death loomed over me, closer with each passing second. My head began to spin, and a dark part of me craved the end, a release from this unending torment. I squeezed my eyes shut, wishing it all away.
"I want my death now," I whispered to the shadows that swirled inside my mind.
“She should be killed, Alpha. She is dangerous.” Voices rang in my ears, loud and venomous, echoing in the vast hall. I couldn't tell who spoke, but their words cut deeper than any blade. I bit down on my lip to keep from crying out, feeling the taste of iron flood my mouth.
“Please. Spare me from all of this pain. Kill me, Alpha Logan,” I begged, my voice breaking, each word laced with despair. I knew he was listening—he was always listening, watching me like a predator cornering its prey. His expression didn't change, but the silence that followed was thick with tension, wrapping around me like a noose. The room went still, everyone waiting with bated breath for his verdict.
Alpha Logan's growl reverberated through the hall, a sound that made the air shudder with its ferocity. He turned to the gathered audience, his voice booming. “I, Alpha of Red Crescent pack, want you to hear that…..” He paused, and his gaze flickered toward me for the briefest moment.
I couldn't hear anything more after that—his words seemed to fade away, as if the world had turned the volume down on reality. My ears rang with silence, and panic clawed at my chest. What was he saying? Was he condemning me to die?
Desperation clawed at my mind, and I struggled to focus on his moving lips, but my senses failed me. A wave of dizziness overtook me, and the faces of the crowd blurred into a faceless sea of judgment and disgust. My vision darkened at the edges, creeping inward like a suffocating fog.
And then, the ground seemed to shift beneath me, my knees giving way entirely. My mind slipped into darkness, cold and unyielding. Perhaps this was the embrace of death. Perhaps it would be merciful, after all.
When my eyes opened, I felt a sense of unease, as if I were in a dark place. The absence of light made me question my surroundings. Was I in a grave? The thought sent shivers down my spine, but I quickly dismissed it as something I felt strange. Confusion clouded my mind as I tried to piece together the events leading up to this moment.Suddenly, a memory resurfaced. I remember the council meeting. The realization hit me like a wave, leaving me bewildered and disoriented. What happened to me? How did I end up in this mysterious situation?“Where am I?” Curiosity overcame me, and I couldn't help but wonder: Despite the initial confusion and apprehension, the cozy room provided a sense of refuge, a temporary respite from the unknown. As I gathered my bearings, I was back into the same room.“He took me back? Didn’t he kill me? Maybe Declan save me?”Feeling strange, I woke up from a deep slumber. As I removed the blanket and checked my surroundings, a wave of fear washed over me. To my
“Remember me?” He leaned closer, his voice a low, rough whisper. His smile was cold, almost mocking, as he watched me struggle to find my voice. My mouth opened, but no words came out—I was too stunned, too scared. Why hadn’t he killed me yet? I was at the council meeting but now….I yanked the blanket over myself, retreating back against the wall, my body trembling. He chuckled softly, the sound dark and unsettling. “Don't worry, Omega. I don't eat sweet things so quickly. I like to savor them... slowly.” His eyes gleamed with something dangerous. My breath caught in my chest—did he just smile? No, he can’t. He is a devil.“M-My clothes?” I stammered, my voice barely a whisper, fear tightening my throat.“Gone. Threw them away. I don’t like dirty things.” His voice was deep, and rough, sending shivers through me. I couldn’t understand—why did he bring me here? What did he want from me?I forced myself to ask, though my voice shook. “Where am I?” His eyes never left me, sharp and in
"Beg me." His voice was like a jagged edge, slicing through the tension in the air.“What?” I gasped, my heart racing in disbelief at his command.“Beg me for forgiveness by looking into my eyes.” I hesitated, then lifted my gaze to meet his. His eyes were mesmerizing, shifting colors in a way that felt almost magical—deep amber swirling into a warm honey hue. It left me stunned, almost dizzy. Why was he doing this? If he wanted me dead, he could easily do it. I was just an omega—so fragile and weak in his presence."Don't look away," he murmured, his voice low and dangerous. "You know I can make you my puppet, but I don’t want to do that. I want to see your helplessness. Look into my eyes and start obeying me."“What if I don’t?” I managed to say, finding a flicker of defiance within me. I was alone in this world; no one loved me. Nothing could be worse than the emptiness I felt. What did I have left to fight for?His eyes narrowed, shifting to a furious crimson, streaked with yellow
When I opened my eyes, I found myself in the same bed, but this time it was filled with bright morning light instead of darkness. Panic shot through me, and I jumped up. I had no idea when I fell asleep or when he left. The memory of last night made my blood boil, but I felt powerless. His gaze was intense; he could control anyone with just one look. I glanced around, desperate to find him. Why was I still here?He wasn’t around. As I stood, I noticed I was wearing a navy blue sweater and a shirt. Something felt off, so I pulled off the blanket and saw I was in gray sweatpants. They were a little loose, but at least my legs were covered. Then the realization hit me.Had he dressed me? A chill ran down my spine. Just then, the door swung open, making me jump. A girl wheeled in a food trolley, and I was left speechless.“Did he really do this?” I thought. No way.“Good afternoon!” she chirped, and I snapped my head up. She wore a white shirt and black jeans, with fair skin and blonde ha
“She is wolf-less, worse even than omega. How dare she try to marry my son? She must pay for it.” Alpha King was yelled, walking furiously. Hearing these words, Declan stood frozen in the doorway, his heart pounding. His father's words hung heavy in the air, suffocating him. He quickly entered the room. Alpha Logan, his older brother and the Alpha King's right hand, turned to look at him with a hardened expression. The disappointment in his brother's eyes cut Declan deeper than any blade ever could.“I want her alive or dead. Kill that low girl.” The Alpha King's voice echoed through the room, commanding and cold. Hearing the order to kill her, Declan felt a surge of anger rises within him. His father's words were like a death sentence, a request that tore at his very soul."No!" Declan's voice rang in the room. “She is innocent. This was just my intention. You won’t touch her.” Alpha King's gaze turned to Declan, his eyes flashing with fury."You dare defy me, boy?" he growled, the p
Elena’s P.O.V.“That is strange,” I murmured, sitting before the mirror, my gaze locked on my reflection with a mix of surprise and confusion. In my black hair, some thick braids were turning golden. This looked pretty, but strange. My hair was black, and now it was turning golden in one night. Is this magic?“Ahhhh, Beta’s daughter, you are never so lucky to possess any power. You are weak and even wolf-less. Everybody hates you, especially the Moon Goddess, and do you think that she will give you a hidden power? Oh no. She just gave me a good appearance that proved to be useless.” I sighed in helplessness. But a tall figure’s reflection waved in front of my eyes.“Declan.” He claimed that I was his mate, but I knew he couldn’t accept this bond. He was Alpha King’s son. He can’t do that. But he was kind in a place filled with mean and selfish people. He listens to me, cares for me, and has a kind heart.“Elena, it's 8 o'clock. Where have you been?” A commanding voice took me out of m
Lying in the cold dungeon, my body throbbed with pain from the beating I endured. I tried to get up, but the pain in my body made me paralyzed. My mind raced with fear and anger. How could they treat me like this just because I hadn't shifted yet? It wasn't my fault that I didn't have a wolf.If I weren’t so weak, I would not be there. This thought made me cry. Everyone knew that I was weak and wolf-less.Why did I have to bear all this? Why was I born, Moon Goddess? There was no need for me. I was born years ago, got humiliation every day, and now I will die like that.I always longed for someone to love me, but it never happened. Nobody talked to me nicely except Declan."Declan..." His thought gave me hope. Where could he be? Did he know what was happening to me? Would he come to save me? He promised he would protect me, but why isn't he here now?I looked at my bruised and swollen body, the evidence of their cruelty. As I tried to sit up, I heard the sound of the door opening, and
“Stop.” A heavy and commanding voice cut through the silence. My heart raced as I turned to see who it was. A big man entered with four men beside him. Our pack’s guard struggled to get out of his grip but couldn’t. Standing in front of us, he cut the throat of the guard and then tossed the lifeless body at Alpha Steven’s feet.Alpha Steven got up from his seat. His face turned pale, and sweat appeared on his forehead. I never saw him like that.“We thought you would be troubled. That's why I have come.” I heard his heavy, arrogant voice.“Alpha Logan.” Everyone bowed in reverence to him. In shock, I looked at him again. He was sitting majestically on the couch.Dark blond hair, almond-shaped eyes whose ice blue color was giving me a chill, strong cheekbones, short stubble, and full lips, with a slightly flat upper lip. Three buttons on his shirt were unbuttoned, revealing perfectly toned chest muscles. I never saw him, but Declan always talked about his perfect brother, ‘Alpha Logan’
