Chapter 122

Marcus's POV

When the trial ended we headed home.

Amari fell asleep from crying too much so when we arrived at the house I carried her in my arms and headed inside the house.

"She's sleeping," I said when Alice welcomed us.

She smiled at me and then shifted her gaze to Amari.

"I already prepared her room," she said.

"Thank you,"

I followed Alice as she climbed upstairs after a while we stopped at the pink door where Amari's name was written.

Alice prepared this room a week before the trial happened.

It made me happy that she made an effort to make Amari feel welcome.

Alice opens the door for me. We stepped inside Amari's room and I walked towards her bed.

I gently lay my daughter on her bed and tucked her in before facing Alice.

"I think she hates me," I said.

I saw how she tried to remove my hold earlier.

She wanted to run to Lillian but I stopped her.

Alice held my hand and looked at me directly in the eyes. She smiled at me and shook her head as if telling me to stop worrying.
