75 Gratitude

"To my office", I said to him trying to reign myself. This was a hospital I reminded myself for the hundredth time.

"What about the tests? When will you do that?", he asked tersely.

"When I feel like it", I said sarcastically.

"You better do the tests right now", he said.

"Excuse me. Why now? I have to work. I will come in the evening to do them. The doctor will understand", I said.

"Just do the tests Meredith", he said.

"I can't I'm late already", I said wanting to stomp my feet so badly because of frustration.

"You can go after the tests", he said through clenched teeth.

"What about you? You will go to your office like every time after ordering me right? It is always the woman who has to take instruction from a man even if it is about her baby", I said seething.

"I will stay with you of course. I want to be there", he said voice so low and tight with emotions.

"Fine", I said. I knew there was going to be hell to pay while going to my office.
