Beth's POV

After the Trial, everyone went their way and Rey had to return to his room.

Although he had the freedom to wander the central Living Room, he opted to stay put since he preferred not to.

No one could blame him.

As night descended and everyone else slept soundly, a certain student couldn’t sleep.

"Damn it…" He muttered, his eyes were wide open as he stared at the ceiling.

Before long, he sat upright and clapped his hand over his face.

“I screwed up big time…” He murmured in the dark.

It was hard to make out the expression on his face, but it appeared to be a grimace.

‘I didn’t expect to be asked for another testimony. It wasn’t part of the plan…’

In the dark of the night, Adam Sanchez lay on the bed going over the earlier events of the day.

How he had been humiliated before everyone.

“I really fucked up!”

“Ahh… don’t blame yourself too much.” A voice suddenly said from the corner of the room.

“Eep!”

Like a little child, Adam shrieked as he jumped from his position, startl

“This is the place.”Rey and Noah stood in front of a massive building—one of the biggest in the area.Of course, it wasn’t more than three storeys, but it was very wide.It was clear that a lot of activities went on in this building, and it wasn’t for the faint of heart.“You actually did business here?!” Rey was shocked that someone as timid as Noah had the gall to trade in such an intimidating structure.“W-well, I was approached by an affiliate who brought me here.”“A-ahh… that’s true.”According to Noah’s story, he was initially just looking for a place to sell the Monster Cores when he was approached by a guy who told him he’d help him sell the goods. This man then escorted Noah to the imposing building and guided him through the necessary procedures.‘That guy must be the one behind the scam’ Rey figured, connecting the dots. The company must have dealt directly with the so-called Affiliate, who in turn dealt with Noah.He probably pretended to be the seller and got to bargai

Dorian's POV“So Dorian, what is it you wanted to see me about? You sounded like you were in a hurry.” The speaker was reclining on an armchair across from me. A desk filled with books and journals separated us.I could see his eyes take in my appearance carefully and I knew he had taken my disheveled look into account. He was my lawyer after all.The main reason I had come to see him though wasn't for his law skills. On the side, he was a private investigator. It was for this reason that I had asked to see him in a rush. “The job I'm giving you should be done quietly and you shouldnt involve another soul in it.”He looked offended and opened his mouth to defend himself but I stopped him halfway.“I know you're going to talk about your professional ethics and all and how you don't talk about your work. This is different, you don't even get to involve any of your buddies on it. You do all the legwork by yourself.”“Alright, this sounds serious. I'll do everything as you say,” He said

Anna's POVLater that evening, after most of the office had emptied, I found myself in Dorian’s office. He sat behind his desk, his brow furrowed as he read the note Brenda insisted I bring to him. When he finally looked up, his expression was a mix of anger and concern.“This is serious, Anna,” he said, his voice firm. “We can’t ignore this.”I shifted uncomfortably in my chair. “It’s probably just someone trying to scare me off. I don’t want to overreact.”“You’re not overreacting,” he replied, standing and moving to sit beside me. “This isn’t just petty office drama anymore. It’s harassment.”I looked down, feeling a mix of gratitude and unease. “What do we do?”“I’ll take care of it,” he said, his tone leaving no room for doubt. “First, I’ll speak with HR and make sure they investigate. And I’m arranging for increased security. We’ll install cameras near your desk and around the office.”“Isn’t that a bit much?” I asked, though part of me felt relieved.“No,” Dorian said firmly.

  • Caught in the Mafia net    Chapter 22

Dorian's POVThe email from Anna hit my inbox just as I was about to leave the office. The subject line alone made me pause as it sounded ominous—“Final Warning”. My jaws tightened as I read the message and I stared at the screen for a long moment while my pulse was hammering. The first person my mind went to was Daniel. He had definitely crossed a line there. My cousin had been meddling ever since I took over as CEO, subtly undermining my decisions and spreading dissent. I’d overlooked it for too long, chalking it up to jealousy or bruised pride. But this? Harassing Anna? Threatening her safety? That was unforgivable.I stormed out of my office and headed straight out of the building. I resolved that I was going to take the matter up with him.I entered my car and drove quickly to his office. I furiously slammed the door of the car as I reached his place. In a way, I was surprised that I hadn't been stopped by the cops due to how fast I was driving.“Hello sir, you aren't allowed

“Huu…” Once Rey finished collecting all the Monster Cores, he let out a deep sigh.As frosty breaths escaped his lips and nostrils, he could clearly see the gateway to the next floor. The doorway stood at the far end of the ring, almost as if it was being guarded by the Boss Rey had just defeated. That was his next destination.“I Leveled Up three times just now…” Rey mumbled, realizing just how much EXP he must have received from the Boss and his minions. With every Level Up, it got increasingly difficult to do so again. Because Rey had Leveled Up a total of five times before reaching the Boss Room by killing hundreds upon hundreds of BigFoot Monsters, it was surprising that he was able to Level Up three times just from a hundred others and a Boss.‘The BigFoot Monsters here were holding weapons, so they’re probably stronger than the ones I faced outside,’ he reasoned. The Boss had to also be quite strong. With these thoughts in mind, Rey felt relieved he hadn’t wasted any time.‘I

  • Caught in the Mafia net    Chapter 20

Daniel’s POVI had just finished berating an obnoxious staff when I received the damning report of Dorian's announcement. The announcement was nothing short of audacious—it was hard to remove it from my head. It wasn’t just about Anna; it was about him drawing a line in the sand, daring anyone to cross it.Well, I was prepared to take that dare.I leaned back into my plush chair, scrolling through my contacts as I hashed up my plan. The board members, the influential figures Dorian had cultivated so carefully, would hear from me soon enough. I resolved not to go with overt accusations—that would be too obvious—I would instead plant seeds of doubt among them. A well-timed comment here, a subtle insinuation there.Anna’s sudden rise in the company? Too good to be true. Her relationship with Dorian? Convenient, wasn’t it? People were always eager to believe the worst when ambition was involved, and I was going to ensure that the whole thing blew out of proportion. But this wasn’t just
