She's your new maid

The school was so terrible. Ariana got home to meet her drunk father talking to himself and crying.

''If those God damned wolves hadn't taken her away, I would still be in good shape" Mark lamented as he gulped down beer.

"Hey, Dad" Ariana muttered as she covered her nose.

"Oh welcome daughter, I was just thinking about your mother. Why were the wolves wicked and why did they take your mother of all people" Mark questioned rhetorically.

"I've told you countless times that mom died due to a stroke. Her whole body went stiff and blood didn't circulate around her body. Don't you get it!" Ariana yelled as anger overwhelmed her.

"You always talk about wolves yet none has been discovered and it seems beer seems to make you mentally unstable" Ariana said, pained as she remembered what her mom looked like.

Ariana went inside her room and scattered the whole wardrobe where she usually kept her money and with a look of horror fell to the floor and wept.

"Mom, does it feel right to leave me to suffer all these alone?" Ariana whispered as tears flowed freely.

Money intended for paying the debt her father had brought upon her he has taken it and probably used it for beer. 

"I'm sick of working my ass off only for him to steal my money" Ariana thought as she went to the sitting room.

"Where's the money I kept in the wardrobe?" Ariana asked as she looked at him with strangling eyes.

"Oh daughter, I had to pay the debt for the beer and the little balance I used to get myself a few bottles" Mark said with a hiccup.

"So you mean to say you used the money I saved up while working my ass all day and you just feel it's right to use it on drinks?" Ariana asked with tears as she stared at the man she called her father.

"The money I saved up to pay the debt you brought to this house. The same money I save up to get food for you rather than let you starve. I work my ass off trying to get money for the drug the doctor administered and you just go into my room and take it like it's not a big deal?" Ariana said with a voice that carried so much pain.

"Oh my little daughter, I didn't take too much money, I had been the one providing for your needs before you grew up so why not return the favor" Mark said staggering towards the kitchen

Ariana went inside the house and packed up the belongings she had inside a bag and went to the parlor.

"Since you don't deem it fit to change your behavior, I'm leaving the house for you. I don't give a fuck if loan sharks take the house and make you leave on the street. Just pretend I don't exist anymore because the father I had died when my mother died" Ariana spat out angrily as she left the house and banged the door roughly.

"She'll be back soon I guess" Mark said he lay on the floor to sleep.

Ariana took her bag and went to Burger It All, where she kept her bag in the changing room.

"Is everything alright, because your face isn't all that good?" Charlotte asked as she looked at Ariana.

"I'm okay, there's nothing to worry about" Ariana said, trying to keep her voice calm.

"Ari we've been friends since childhood, you can think of me as your sister. if you ever need a shoulder to cry on I'll always be there for you" Charlotte said solemnly as she held Ariana's cheek.

"I can't take it anymore" Ariana burst into tears

"School was the worst, I got taunted and insulted just because my background isn't like theirs and only to get home for my father to take the money I intend on using to pay for the loan he got" Ariana said as she cried on Charlotte's shoulder.

"It's all gonna be alright, just hang in there. It'll be over very soon" Charlotte said as she patted Ariana's back saying soothing words.

"When just when would everything be over. If mom hadn't died I wouldn't be in this state" Ariana cried more.

"Shh, you just have to keep striving, very soon it'll end in something good" Charlotte comforted.

Ariana went to the bathroom and washed her face before starting the day's job.

When Ariana finished late at night she realized she had nowhere to go and kicked against going back home.

Walking down the road, Ariana was lost in her thoughts and wasn't aware of the oncoming car that almost ran into her.

With a screeching sound, the wheels of the car came to a halt and a woman richly dressed hurried out.

"Are you okay dear?"  She asked.

Ariana, who was brought to earth by the noise made by the car just stared at the woman and passed out due to shock.

"Hurry, let's take her to the hospital!" Fiona said to her driver as she held Ariana in her arms.

"Ma'am, going to the hospital might be risky because there's a heavy road jam and the distance is far, it's best if we took her home" The driver suggested.

"Okay just help me get him into the car" Fiona instructed.

Fiona took Ariana to her house and got the maids to take care of her and got a doctor ready to check up on her.

Ariana woke up startled as she looked around the room and tried to remember how she got to where she is but it only brought a dull ache to her head.

"Oh, you're awake dear" Fiona said as she entered the room.

"Go. Good eve.. Evening ma'am" Ariana stuttered as she tried to rise from the bed but stopped when she felt a sharp pain in her head.

"Doctor" Fiona said as the door opened revealing a doctor with a work bag.

He used his stethoscope to check her heartbeat and checked her temperature and nodded his head a few times and wrote a few notes which he handed to Fiona who glanced at them then ordered a maid to get the drugs he prescribed.

"She's just stressed up and lacks vitamins and sleep, try getting lots of rest and you would be perfectly fit in a few days to come" The doctor said and bowed slightly toward Fiona's side and left.

"Hello" Fiona said as she looked at the stranger she brought home.

"H... Hi" Ariana stammered as she bowed her head.

"Hope you don't need anything? Do you feel hungry or thirsty?" Fiona said as she sat down at the wooden end of the bed.

"No not at all ma'am, please how did I get here" Ariana asked carefully.

"Oh dear you almost got hit by my car last night and you passed out from shock, so I brought you here" Fiona explained calmly.

"Thanks a lot, ma'am" Ariana said, bowing her head slightly as she sat up.

"But dear what were you doing out late, it's dangerous for people to be outside late at night especially young girls" Fiona warned.

"Thanks, ma'am" Ariana replied as she looked around and found her bag in a corner of the room.

"Tt's alright, the maid would bring your food and you would take your medicine okay?" Fiona said looking at Ariana who nodded and then went outside.

The maid brought chicken and waffles in a tray with orange juice and a few drugs.

Ariana took a few spoons before she knew how hungry she was, she ravished the whole food and used the juice to take the medicine before retiring back to sleep.

"God so this is what being rich feels like?" Ariana muttered as she drifted to sleep.

"Mom, it's risky to help people" Brooklyn whispered to his mom who sighed.

"Son I just couldn't leave her there, she looked so desolate" Fiona said feeling pity for Ariana.

"Fine mom if there's any problem you have your alpha son to help you" Brooklyn said as he stormed out of the house angrily.

"Huh hmm" Ariana said as she coughed to alert Fiona of her presence in the sitting room.

"Oh, you're awake dear" Fiona said as she offered a seat to Ariana.

"I appreciate your kindness but I have to get going now" Ariana said.

"Oh, is it because of what my son said? Oh he's grumpy, you don't have to worry, how about you tell me about yourself?" Fiona said as she sat close to Ariana.

"I'm an only child living with my father and my mom is dead" Ariana said briefly.

"Oh, that's sad" Fiona comforted.

"Do you attend any school or something?" Fiona asked.

"Yes, I attend Sawyer college" Ariana replied, making Fiona look at Ariana with astonishment.

"I got a scholarship" Ariana said, clearing Fiona's doubt.

"Okay, that's cool". Fiona muttered.

"I need to go ma'am, I can't thank you enough" Ariana appreciated it as she went to the room and took her bag.

"Why are you in such a hurry, do you have somewhere to be, it's the weekend so you should have time for yourself" Fiona said to Ariana who was about to leave.

"I have a job and I might lose it if I don't get there fast" Ariana fidgeted.

"Oh, so you work during weekends?" Fiona said as a thought came to her head.

"How about you work for me?" Fiona asked.

"I don't seem to understand you, ma'am?" Ariana said with confusion.

"What I mean is my son requires a maid, you could work for him while attending school and you don't have to work extra time since the pay is enough" Fiona aid as she studied Ariana.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry but I can't accept the job . I'll have to live with a man alone in the same house and it doesn't seem proper" Ariana said timidly.

"You're just the maid I need for Austin, he doesn't like girls and he expects you to be invisible when he's home but you can do anything you want when he's out" Fiona said and muttered a prayer so Ariana would accept her offer.

"Oh okay" Ariana said, nodding her head slightly.

"Name your price and you will have it" Fiona said to Ariana who was more than happy to have a fixed job that paid more than her previous jobs.

"Okay, when do I have to start ma'am?" Ariana questioned.

"Oh anytime you wish I'll take you to his house to get acquainted with him then you start when you're ready" Fiona said.

"Okay, I could start today?" Ariana said.

"You sure because I don't think you feel too well to start a job, won't you inform your father at home?" Fiona questions. 

"No, I won't" Ariana muttered with her head bowed.

"Okay then" Fiona muttered and went to her room and got changed.

She went to Austin's house with Ariana who was nervous throughout.

They got out of the car and went inside to find Austin playing a tune silently with his guitar.

Austin was shocked to see his mother and the newbie at school, she never informed him about the coming today.

"Hello, mom" Austin said as he glanced up and stared at Ariana.

"Hey, darling, I brought you a guest and roomie" Fiona said cheerfully, making Ariana smile secretly.

"Who?" Austin asked with a blank mind.

"Here meet... What's your name again dearie?" Fiona asked.

"Ariana Stuart" Ariana answered.

"Okay, meet Ariana Stuart, your new maid" Fiona said with a broad smile.

"What the hell, no mom she can't be the new maid. She's lousy and doesn't seem like a quiet person" Austin complained, utterly surprised.

"Uhh, son you complain a lot" Fiona said and took Ariana gently by the hand to the room at the end of the house.

"This would be your room, I'd advise you not to get on his bad list. He gets angry when he isn't given privacy" Fiona said with a gentle smile that emitted the love she has for her son.

"Okay thank you, ma'am" Ariana said and bowed a little.

"I've got to go, dear, see ya... Bye" Fiona said and went to the sitting room where she met the amazed Austin staring into space.

She kissed his cheek before leaving Austin and his maid alone
