I don't understand what everyone wants from me? I am just sick of explaining everything to people around me who won't understand me and my Bloody situation.
I decided to go to see Robin. She is so moody. I took off my apron and left it on the side of the table. But before I could go to her my phone begin blarring into my pants pocket. I took out it, My hands are shaking as I stare at my phone. The name on the screen is like a punch to the gut. I can feel the blood draining from my face, leaving me cold and numb. I can’t believe what I’m seeing. This can’t be happening. My mind is racing, trying to make sense of it all, but the words just keep swimming in front of my eyes. I feel like I’m going to be sick.I just totally forgot about him. I haven't talked to him after what happened yesterday." Should I pick his call or not... What would I tell him? why I wasn't talking to him and why I ran away last night? and why is he calling me? Did heather and Robin tell him the truth? Oh, God Please save me." I thought and jarred snapped me out of my mind by telling me, my phone is still ringing.I simply nods and redirect my feet towards the toilet to pick his call. Upon entering into the toilet. I locked the door, still thinking.I’m sitting on the toilet, staring at my phone as it vibrates on the sink. The sound echoes off the tiled walls, making it seem louder than it really is. My heart is pounding and my palms are sweaty. I know who’s calling, and I’m not sure if I’m ready to talk to them. I take a deep breath and try to steady my nerves. Should I answer? What will I say? The phone keeps ringing, and I can feel the pressure building. I glance around the small bathroom, taking in the familiar surroundings. The white tiles, the blue shower curtain, the stack of magazines on the back of the toilet. It all feels so mundane compared to the turmoil inside me. Finally, with a shaky hand, I reach out and pick up the call.“Hello, Heather. Where are you? Why haven’t you been answering my calls? I’ve been trying to reach you since last night. Is everything okay?” Ed asked, concern evident in his voice.“I’m fine, Ed. Don’t worry about me,” I replied.“Where are you? Why didn’t you answer my calls? And why did you leave last night without telling me anything?”“I’m sorry, I didn’t check my phone. I’m at the hospital,” I lied, unable to think of a better excuse.“Hospital? What are you doing there? Are you okay?”“Don’t worry about me. I’m fine. I’m here with a friend,” I said.“Which hospital? Give me the address, I’ll come over. Are you talking about the friend who came with you last night and was acting strangely?”I wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear. He must think I’m some kind of freak. Oh no, he definitely thinks I’m just a crazy person acting like a psychotic bitch.“Heather? Hello? Are you listening to me?” Ed’s voice brought me back to reality.“Yeah… yeah, I’m listening. And you’re right, the girl who was acting all weird and crazy in front of you is in the hospital. She needed to fix her brain so she wouldn’t act crazy in front of you,” I mumbled.“What are you saying? Just forget about it and tell me which hospital you’re at. I’m coming there.”“Oh no, you don’t have to come. I’m leaving for home soon. I stayed up all night with her and I need to rest,” I said, yawning for effect.“Are you sure? You sound exhausted. Do you want me to bring you something to eat or drink?” Ed asked, concern lacing his voice.“No, it’s okay. I’ll be fine,” I replied.“Okay, but if you need anything just give me a call,” he said, and I breathed a sigh of relief that he believed me without questioning further.“I will. The doctor is calling me now, so I have to go. Bye,” I said, ending the call. After ending the call. I sat on the toilet seat for a while, thinking about I need to talk to Robin about it. She can help me with this situation.I wash my hands and quickly made my way out of the toilet but as I was about to the leave the kitchen. I was stopped by Paul." Stassie, where are you going?"" I am going to get Robin I need her help with the cake,"" You still haven't finish the cake decorations?" he looked on to the my counter. The unfinished wedding cake sat on the counter, a work in progress. The bottom tier was complete, a perfect circle of moist vanilla sponge cake layered with rich buttercream frosting. The second tier was partially finished, with the cake layers in place but the frosting still in progress. The top tier was yet to be started, and I completely forgot about it." I am just finishing it."" We need to deliver this cake by evening. So, move your hands fast and less feet." He ordered me and I nodded it.With Paul’s words ringing in my ears, I turned my attention back to the cake. I worked quickly but carefully, determined to finish the decorations before the evening deadline. I smoothed the buttercream on the second tier, creating delicate swirls and rosettes with practiced ease. Then, I moved on to the top tier, carefully stacking the layers of moist vanilla sponge cake and spreading rich buttercream frosting between each one.As I worked, I lost track of time, completely absorbed in the task at hand. Before I knew it, the cake was finished, a beautiful three-tiered masterpiece adorned with elegant swirls and rosettes. I stepped back to admire my handiwork, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment.I glanced at the clock and realized that it was still early afternoon. I had finished the cake well before the evening deadline. With a smile, I cleaned up my work area and went to find Paul to let him know that the cake was ready for delivery.Paul was at the register, serving the customer in the bakery." Paul, I finished the cake and it's ready to be deliver." I said with a hint of proudness." Well done! but your job haven't finish yet."" What do you mean?"" We need to deliver this cake to the venue personally because this client is very special and I don't want anyone to make mistakes. And we are short on staff today so, you have to come with me for delivery." he said and I thought, " As much as I want to get out of here. I am just digging deeper hole for myself. I need to go and find Robin. But now, I've to become the delivery guy."" I would love to personally deliver this cake to the client but I can't go with you I need go somewhere urgently. You can take jarred with you." I suggest him." I can't take jarred with me because today is inventory delivery. Jarred need to be present in the bakery in my absence. And trust me, it won't take much of your time." He said in his convincing voice and it made me rethink.I decided to accompany Paul on the cake delivery, as I needed my salary to pay Biddy her rent. “I’ll come with you, but what about my salary? I told you I need it today,” I reminded him.“You don’t have to remind me. I remember, and that’s why I’m taking you with me to collect the money from the client and pay you. Now, I have to go tell Jarred to load the cake into my van,” he said before instructing me to work the register and serve customers while he went into the kitchen. As I stood behind the cash register, the aroma of freshly baked bread filled the air. The line of customers seemed never-ending, but I greeted each one with a smile. “Good afternoon, what can I get for you today?” I asked the next customer in line.“I’ll have a loaf of sourdough and a croissant, please,” she replied.“Coming right up,” I said as I rang up her order and handed her the change. “Thank you, have a great day!” I said as she left.“Thanks, you too!” she called over her shoulder as she walked out.The n
“Paul, we can’t just sit here and twiddle our thumbs.” I said.“Then what do you suggest we do, huh?” He snapped back, sounding irritated.“I’ll call Robin! You work on fixing this piece of crap.” I told him and he took his tool box from under his seat and got out of the van. I followed him and took out my phone and called Robin’s number. She didn’t answer at first and I wondered if she was still angry with me for ignoring her advice. But luckily she picked up after a few more rings.“Why are you calling me, Stas? Leave me alone. I have nothing to say to you.” she said and I could tell by her tone that she was furious. But before she could hang up, I said:“Wait, don’t hang up! I need your help. It’s urgent.”“Oh, really? You expect me to fall for that? Just stop bothering me!”“Please, just listen to me. We’re in big trouble. Paul and I were on our way to deliver the wedding cake but his van broke down and now we’re stranded on the highway and the wedding is in an hour.”"What? You’r
I decided to go upstairs and inform the bride first then the cake is in the van and I need some help to get the cake there.I look to an elevator on the side of the Hallway just as a man steps through the cold steel doors before he begin toclose." Hold the door!" I said out loud, ignoring my frantic plea, the man presses a button several times, attempting to close the door." What a jerk!"In a desperate attempt to stop the elevator, I fling my shoe in a Hail Mary and it thuds against the button. The doors open and I sheepishly collect mymakeshift projectile." Can't believe that worked."I hurriedly, made it inside I dust myself off, doing my best not to shoot daggers at the stranger who tried to shut me out of the elevator." That's was impressive."" Excuse me?"I turn to the stranger. As I looked at him, my mind went blank. The man who stood before me was unrecognizable, his face contorted in a way that made my stomach churn. I felt a cold sweat break out on my skin as the shoc
I looked at him one last time before heading out and I heard him saying to stop. My heart completely sink in my stomach but I didn't dare to look back at him or stop.I fasten up my pace and saw a beautiful sign, and the names of bride groom written in to beautiful lettering outside of the venue. As I step out onto the rooftop, I am immediately struck by the breathtaking view. The city skyline stretches out before me, with skyscrapers and buildings of all shapes and sizes. The sun is setting, casting a warm glow over everything and making the sky a beautiful shade of pink and orange. The rooftop itself is beautifully decorated for the wedding. White chairs are arranged in neat rows, facing a small stage where the ceremony will take place. Flowers and greenery are everywhere, adding to the natural beauty of the space. To one side, there is a bar set up, with bartenders mixing drinks and serving guests. On the other side, there is a buffet table laden with delicious food. The smell of t
I can't believe this is happening to me. Why does everything always go wrong? I thought I had it all figured out, but no, the universe just had to throw me another curve ball. I'm so sick of this. Why can't I catch a break? Just once, I want things to go my way. Is that too much to ask? Ugh, I hate my luck. It's like I'm cursed or something." I am asking you what is happening in here?" He asked the manager and Robin looked at me in disbelief. Like, I've intentionally brought Ed here. I don't know what he is doing here in the first place. She shoot a glare into my direction and I shrugged off and returned my eyes back on Ed who was looking me. The manager step forward to answer him." These two girls are causing trouble. They want to enter into Miss Rebecca w party and when I refused to let them enter and call the security. They begin screaming and this one attack the security guard."The manager point the finger at me and I squeeze my eyes shut o
I cussed Robin for leaving me alone. I thought, She is going to help me but nah why would she do that? Because I have created this mess and now, I have to clean it. I heard Ed cleared his throat to caught my attention.I turned around hesitantly to face him, finding it impossible to meet his gaze. Guilt washed over me as I thought about how much I had lied to him. I felt like a terrible person.“Hey… again,” I said, waving my hand awkwardly and forcing a smile. I cringed at my own behavior, feeling ridiculous as I stood there waving my hand in front of him. I quickly grabbed my own hand to stop the waving.“So, I haven’t heard a thank you from you… Oh, wait, I forgot. I’m that kind of man who doesn’t treat women properly! Right?” he taunted, referring to our unexpected encounter in the elevator. My face flushed with embarrassment as I stood there, wishing I could disappear. But all I could do was take a deep breath and try to mainta
I call for a cab and get in the car before Ed comes back and try to stop me.I sat in the back of the taxi, tears streaming down my face. The cab driver glanced at me in the rearview mirror, concern etched on his face."What's wrong?" he asked gently.I sniffled and wiped my eyes. "Everything," I said, my voice choked with emotion. "I'm just a horrible person."The cab driver shook his head. "No one is a horrible person," he said. "We all make mistakes. It's how we learn and grow."I shook my head, not believing him. "You don't understand," I said. "I've hurt so many people. I don't know how to make it right."The cab driver was silent for a moment, then he spoke again. "It's never too late to make amends," he said. "It takes courage to admit your mistakes and try to fix them. But it's worth it in the end."I looked at him, considering his words. Maybe he was right. Maybe there was still hope for me.The cab driver nodded and started the car, pulling away from the curb. "Where to?" he
I walked into the bakery where I work, the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries filling my nose. As I made my way to the back, I saw Jared, my coworker, working at the cash register. He looked up and our eyes met, but he didn’t seem excited to see me.“Hey, Jared!” I greeted him with a smile.“Hey,” he replied, his tone flat. “Wait, you can’t go in there yet.”I stopped in my tracks, confused. “What do you mean? Why not?”Jared sighed. “The boss wants to talk to you first”" For, What?"" I don't know. He told me when you come to the bakery send you to his office. He wants to talk to you." He replied.“Oh,” I said, feeling a little deflated. I had been looking forward to starting my shift and getting to work in the kitchen. “Okay, thanks for letting me know."I turned around and headed back to the front of the bakery to find the paul and see what was going on. I begin wandering that why Paul wants to talk to me
I spun around, presenting the USB drive to Heather. Her eyes sparkled with relief and excitement. "Thank heavens, we've located it just in time. The runway show has already started," she exclaimed. "What? The show has begun? We need to get this USB drive to Alan Soros before the show ends," I responded, a sense of urgency creeping into my voice. "You're absolutely right. Hand me the USB drive. I'll rush it over to Alan. Meanwhile, you should go and locate Declan and Robin," Heather instructed, extending her hand towards me. Without a second thought, I placed the USB drive in her outstretched hand. Heather curled her fingers around the USB drive, a smirk playing on her lips. It was an expression I hadn't seen on her face before, "Heather, what's going on?" I asked her. In a split second, Heather's demeanor changed. The friendly, supportive Heather I knew seemed to vanish, replaced by a stranger. She looked at me, her eyes cold and distant. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice devoid
The Next DayWe all three got ready at robin house and took her Robin puff: The magic wagon. We left earlier because we don't want to be stuck in the traffic jam forever.Currently, we are waiting for Declan, outside of a hotel where the collection launch will happen. " Should we call him, Stassie?” Heather’s voice cut through the silence, her silhouette outlined against the dashboard lights of the wagon.“No, he’ll be here any moment now. He told us to wait,” I replied, my gaze fixed on the hotel entrance. As if on cue, Declan emerged from the hotel, his eyes scanning the area. Robin, quick to react, slid the back door open and waved to catch his attention. Her efforts were rewarded as Declan spotted us, crossed the road, and hopped into the back of the wagon. In his hand, he held our golden tickets to the event - the invitation letters for the fashion runway show. “Everyone got their invites?” he asked, his eyes meeting each of ours in turn.“Yeah, I guess so…” I responded, my fing
I looked up and found a dark silhouette in n the window of the of the second floor which was obvious to my eyes was heather's. She didn't do anything to help me. She just stands there and looking at my mesirable life.I turned around and walked back to my former home and took my suitcase from the porch and stopped a cab. "Take me to a budget hotel," I told the cab driver, my voice barely above a whisper. The city lights blurred past as he nodded and steered the cab towards the less glamorous part of town. Before long, we pulled up in front of a rundown building, its neon sign flickering intermittently. "Here we are, miss," the driver announced, his eyes meeting mine in the rearview mirror.I paid the fare and stepped out, my suitcase in tow. The hotel lobby was dimly lit, and a sense of unease washed over me. I approached the front desk, where a disinterested receptionist handed me a key."Room 204, second floor," he mumbled, not bothering to look up from his newspaper. As I unlocked
"He's heartbroken, Stassie, You have broken up his trust and he will never forgive you for it" he finally said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Why did you do this to him?"I do not think I responded immediately, for it took me a moment or two to fully digest these words I felt a lump in my throat, my heart aching at his words. "I... I never wanted to," I managed to say, my voice trembling. "Believe me, Declan, hurting Eden was the last thing I wanted." "I didn't even know I was talking to Eden Wylon," I confessed, my voice barely above a whisper. "He never told me who he was. The first time I met him in person, I wanted to tell him the truth, but he didn't even look at me."I paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "He was smitten by Heather's beauty. That's why he proposed to her."Declan looked at me, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion. "Eden didn't propose to Heather," he said, his voice firm. "Who told you that?"Robin and I exchanged a glance, a realization dawning
Three days later...It's been three days since I last saw Eden. And since then I have cried so much that no tears left in me to shed.My head aches, my eyes burn, my arms and legs have given up, and my face in the mirror has a grayish cast. The bed, across the room, calls in its unmistakable lover's croon, Come to me, come, only I can make you truly happy, oh, how happy I'll make you, don't resist to cry.I blame myself for everything that occurred in my life and I wanted to fix it but Eden didn't give me chance to speak. I've been calling him continuously form past three days but didn't attend single call and I guess he didn't want to do anything with me. And I totally got it why? but my heart doesn't want to understand. All of a sudden, I heard a knock on the door and Robin emerged from the door and I have been staying with Robin for the past three days because she insisted me."Get ready, we're going out," Robin announced, her voice breaking through my thoughts.I looked at her, p
" Do you want me to be honest with you?” he finally spoke up and asked me. I nodded because of course, I wanted him to be honest with me so I could be honest with him too. My heart was racing so fast that it felt like it was about to burst out of my chest. He looked at me, his gaze intense and unwavering. "I've been grappling with these feelings for a while now," he confessed, "It's like I've been caught in a storm, and you're the only shelter I seek."He paused, his hand gently squeezing mine. "When you're not around, it feels like the colors are less vibrant, the world less interesting. It's like I'm seeing everything in grayscale. But when you're here, it's like the world comes alive. You bring color to my world, you make everything seem brighter, more beautiful."He moved closer, his eyes never leaving mine. "Your passion, your creativity, your spirit... they've enchanted me. You've become more than just a friend or a colleague. You've become my muse, my inspiration. And somewhere
A Week laterIt's been a week since I have last talked to Eden. Robin was so mad at me for not telling Eden the truth when I had the opportunity to come clean but how can I tell him when he telling me that he don't want me to leave his life. I can't act so cruel and break his heart. Robin don't understand me and nobody understands me. Everything thinks I am so selfish and just thinking about myself but it was nowhere near truth... I sigh heavily and the doorbell rings of our house and billy was busy in his room, working on his music and I was designing the wedding dress for Greta since I promised her that I will make her wedding ceremony dress. As I opened the door, I found Amy standing there, her arms filled with fabrics and beads for the wedding dress. I remembered asking her to bring them over. "Amy, come in," I said, stepping aside to let her into the house.I led her into the living room, which was in a state of creative chaos. Pieces of fabric were strewn across the floor, a tes
Robin’s face hardened as I mentioned Paul’s name, her usually calm demeanor replaced by a storm of anger. “That… that traitor!” she spat out, her hands clenching into fists. “I can’t believe he would do something like this!” She got up from her chair and started pacing the balcony, her steps quick and agitated. “He had no right to give Victoria that recording,” she fumed, her voice rising with each word. “That was our private conversation!” She stopped pacing and turned to face me, her eyes blazing with fury. “And to think we trusted him!” she exclaimed, throwing her hands up in frustration. “He’s nothing but a backstabbing, manipulative liar!” Robin vent her frustration, but I wasn't worried about Paul. I was more about, what should I do? Should I tell Eden Victoria being the traitor or should I just keep my mouth shut. "I... I'm a bad person, Robin," I confessed, my voice barely above a whisper. "I lied to Eden, I made so many mistakes... I don't even know if it's fixable an
The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. Paul, the one I had trusted, had betrayed me. The shadow I saw at the bakery last night was indeed him. He had overheard our conversation and relayed it to Victoria. Robin was right about him all along. He was a manipulator, exploiting my vulnerabilities for his own gain.Victoria broke into my thoughts, her voice laced with triumph. "What are you thinking, Stassie? Still thinking about telling Eden the truth? If yes, then you should listen to this first," she said, a smug smile playing on her lips. She pulled out her phone from her pocket and hit play. The familiar voices filled the room - our voices from last night's conversation. I felt my heart drop into my stomach. I was in utter shock. The room spun around me as the reality of the situation sunk in. I had been played, and the consequences were unimaginable. The feeling of betrayal was overwhelming, and the shock was paralyzing. Victoria's threat hung in the air, a chilling ultimatum.
