Chapter 2

The fields looked freshly viridescent. The sound of birds and the laughter of children could be heard all over. The cherry blossoms looked mind-freshing. Their pink shades made it look imaginary, It felt as if it was some kind of wonderland. The sun was like a ball of fire. It stood proudly over the sky, giving the world a new ray of hope.

The park was accented with creamy vanilla and soft, almond-like aromas of the pink cherry blossoms, making earthlings aware that that the spring had arrived again.

9:20 AM, Sunny Day

Sharlene was already 19 years. On this beautiful sunny day, a sense of happiness filled her body. Her sixth sense was sensing something good. She felt more energetic than usual days. Her high school life had ended and she was having a holiday before starting her university life. As usual, Sharlene was searching the web for a good rom-com manga.

Ms. Jennifer shouted," Sharlene, do me a favor will you??",

"Yes mom as you say.", Sharlene wore a skirt.

"Go to the grocery shop and buy some fish and sausages will you dear?? If you are busy then I'll go by myself."

"No mom I can go. I need to buy some stuff too so it'd be better if I go by myself."

"Be safe on the way"

"Come on mom I've already grown up. You don't need to remind me of these things. Okay, then I'll be off. I may come a little late, I need to meet up with Lex and Clara to discuss which major to choose."

"Okay, come home soon"

She headed out.

Humming the songs she walked in the path covered with cherry blossoms, She saw a guy standing under a tree. He looked like he was somewhat 20 years old. His skin looked soft and clear. His face looked quite familiar, but Sharlene didn't care. She had a glance at him and then she entered the store to buy her things.

"Little meowww, why are you here?", Lex was at the shop too.

"Heyy, how many times do I have to tell you? Don't call me little meow. That name is so weird." Sharlene frowned.

"Not weird it's cute. Why are you here? Did aunty ask you to buy sausages again?",he chuckled.

"Yes, she told me to buy sausages and fish. So, what major are you gonna choose?? You know university is starting soon."

"Errm yes..... I am thinking to choose Agriculture... what about you?? which major are you choosing??"

"I think I will choose Architecture. What about Clara??"

"She said she's gonna enroll in the fashion department.", Lex picked up a packet of noodles.

Sharlene suddenly remembered the guy standing under the tree. He gave her the aura of Daniel. Sharlene knew the familiar face was Daniel.

"Meow? Meoww?? Heyyy what are you thinking??" asked Lex

"Do me a favor. Please take these fish and sausages to mom. I will tell you later. I'm in a hurry, byee."

Sharlene ran off. Cold air bit into her lungs. After several thrusts forward her legs became tired. But she wouldn't want to let him go again. A few steps away she stopped. He was still there.

"Daniel!!!!" she called out. He was the only one to turn around and look at her eyes because he was Daniel.

She ran off with her little tired legs and wrapped herself around his arms. She felt a sudden relief as if all the grief that she had been holding all these years suddenly disappeared. It was the most spectacular sight. She hugged him under the pink shades of cherry blossoms as the little flowers gave a strong aura of love.....

He was confused at first. A stranger had called his name and hugged him all of a sudden.

As her hair Brushed around his cheeks, he could get a whiff of Sharlene's scent. At instance, he knew it was her. The one he had been searching for all these years. He clutched her in his arms as tight as he could to remove all the griefs and pains he had all these years.

Sharlene was so happy tears welled up in her eyes.

"S- Sharlene is that you?", Daniel patted her head softly.

"Where were you..... all these years?", asked she, sobbing, looking into his sorrow and happiness-filled eyes.

"I was having some family problem. My mom and dad were in bad terms with each other. They divorced..... and now I am with my mom.....", tears filled his eyes as he spoke.

Talking about the past they fell into long conversation~

The evening sun cast long shadows on the ground. They were in their own worlds, happy to meet each other after 4 years. Not knowing twilight took over the world....

"So why are you back to G city?", asked Sharlene.

"I really missed my hometown and you know what I will stay here now and I am enrolled in J University!! "

"Woww, what a coincidence Lex, I, and Clara are also enrolled in J University. I am so happy right now. Judging from your grades back then I thought you must've been enrolled in T university", said Sharlene in a state of excitement.

"No, I'd never get enrolled there.", said Daniel.

*But deep inside he knew he lied because he actually declined the request of T university to come and meet Sharlene. T university was one of the topmost renowned universities in the country.*

"Who's Lex?"

"Lex is my new friend. He transferred to our school 3 months after you left. His full name is Lex Han and he is very good to me. Just like you.", Sharlene smiled.

Daniel felt a sudden heat in his body after he heard those words. 'Just like me.... I wonder what are his characters'

"Okay let's go. It's getting darker. I will go drop you by your home."

"Okay"

"Mom, I'm home!!", said Sharlene.

"Dear, where have you been so late. Oh! and you look fresh and happy today. Lex came and said you had some works so you left. Come and sit I've made your favorite dumplings.", said mom.

"Mom.....", said Sharlene.

"Yes, what's up??"

"Mom, Daniel is back"

"Don't tell me you had the same dream again", said mom frustrated.

"No mom, I met him, I really met him in the park in front of the grocery store.", said Sharlene. "He said he also got enrolled in J university. We talked for so long. Mom I am not lying."
