I felt them rubbing my back.

“Hush now, my child. Didn’t I tell you before you left that no matter what problem you have, you should just tell us because we’re ready to help you? But what did you do? You hid it and ran away from the truth,” I shook my head at what Mom said to me.

“M-Mom, I didn’t want to… I didn’t want you to know. I have so many dreams for the three of us, and I haven’t even repaid you both, yet here I am, pregnant. Mom, Nay, I promise I didn’t mean for this to happen.”

“Shhh, calm down, Claire. Crying isn’t good for the baby. I’ll get you some water,” Nanay said to me before standing up.

I looked at Mom, who was staring at me in disbelief.

“Mom, I’m sorry. I know I disappointed you. I’m really sorry,” I hugged her, and she rubbed my back.

“I accept your apology, Claire, but God has a plan. I know there’s a reason why there’s a baby in your belly. I just can’t believe you’re going to have a family now, my child. I just can’t believe it. By the way, where’s the baby’s father?” I froze at Mom’s question.

“Yeah, Claire, who’s the father of the child you’re carrying, and where is he now?”

Nanay handed me a glass of water when she returned. I took a sip before answering.

“He doesn’t know about my baby, and I don’t plan on telling him. What happened between us was a mistake. I was drunk that night—it was during Bea’s wedding in Batangas.” They nodded in understanding.

“If that’s your decision, but remember, no father would refuse to know and be with his child. And besides, even if it was a mistake, he should still take responsibility for your baby,” Mom was right, but I wasn’t ready.

“We’ll see, Mom. It’s just not possible.” She sighed in frustration at my response.

“Alright, fine, let Claire be, Erin. By the way, Claire, have you had a check-up yet? Are you taking any vitamins?” Nanay asked, making me frown.

“Is that necessary, Nanay?”

“Oh, you silly girl! Of course, it is—you’re pregnant! Alright, tomorrow we’ll go for a check-up. Mom and I will come with you.” I smiled at her words and hugged them both.

“Thank you, Mom, Nay, for accepting my baby! I’m sure he’s happy about what’s happening right now,” I told them with a smile.

“No wonder you were always sleeping before you left—you were already carrying a baby!” Nanay joked, making the three of us laugh.

---

THE NEXT DAY, the three of us left early. By 10 AM, we went to an OB-GYN Mom knew and had a check-up.

We also scheduled an ultrasound to check on the baby’s condition.

Now, I was lying on a hospital bed, staring at the monitor. I glanced at Mom and Nanay, who were just as nervous as I was about what we might find out.

A few moments later, the sound of a heartbeat echoed through the screen like music to my ears.

“You have twins, Ms. Sanchez!”

I was shocked by the doctor’s words and stared at her in disbelief.

“Huh? How, Doc?” I asked, and she pointed at the screen.

“Look, there are two heartbeats.”

Overwhelming joy filled me as I saw two consecutive heartbeats on the screen. No wonder the heartbeat sounded so loud—there were two of them.

I couldn’t stop my tears from falling.

“Congratulations, my child—you’re having twins!” Mom said tearfully as she hugged me. Nanay did the same. I still couldn’t believe my baby was twins.

The doctor gave me a prescription for my vitamins and a schedule for my regular check-ups. She also handed me the ultrasound photo.

“Congratulations again, Ms. Sanchez. Come back, okay? So we can monitor the twins,” she said with a smile, so I smiled back and nodded.

We got into the car, and Mom drove us home.

“I still can’t believe they’re twins!” Mom said excitedly while driving.

“Me too, Erin! The house will surely be noisy once the twins arrive!”

“You’re right, Lucing! I hope they’re boys!”

“For me, I hope they’re girls!”

I smiled at their conversation. They were happy, and I was even happier. I took a picture and sent it to Bea. When she saw it was twins, she couldn’t believe it and congratulated me.

I placed a hand on my belly.

“So there are two of you in there? You didn’t even tell Mommy. I promise I’ll take good care of you.”

That’s a promise, my children.

-FOUR MONTHS LATER-Several months have passed, and my baby has been in my womb for six months now. They’re getting heavy. Sometimes, I even struggle to stand. How could you not, when there are two babies inside? I don’t know how you wouldn’t find it difficult. "There’s nothing you can do, Bea. I’m going there now, and that’s final." Bea and the others returned home a week after I found out I was carrying twins. At first, Dylan didn’t know I was pregnant, but when my belly started growing, he realized—and was shocked to find out it was twins. He never asked who the father was. He probably respected that I didn’t want to say, especially since I never mentioned anything to him. Now, Bea and I are arguing because I want to see Zekiel. It’s been so long since I last saw him in person. I need to see him face-to-face—it feels like I’ll die if I don’t. "Claire, you’re losing your mind again! What if something happens to you?! What if he recognizes you?! Claire, come on!" Bea’

DYLAN I’m currently in Kiel’s office because we need to have a meeting about the woman he’s been searching for a long time. He entrusted me to find her. On the day of our wedding, he had a one-night stand with a woman, and according to him, they were supposed to have a child. That’s what he said, but I don’t believe it. If they were really having a child, the woman should have come forward to hold him accountable. But months have passed, and she’s still nowhere to be found. "Why can't you all find her?! It's just a simple task!" I winced at Kiel’s outburst—this is how he always reacts whenever we fail to locate the woman. Ever since she disappeared, he’s become even more hot-tempered, colder, and harsher toward everyone around him—even toward me, his friend. "We need to find her! We have to see her!" He said this in frustration, even pulling at his hair. This was the first time I’ve seen him in such a state—going crazy over someone he doesn’t even know. I stayed quie

"HELLO?""Love, are you okay?! Did something happen to you and my child?!" I immediately asked, but the person on the other end just laughed."What’s wrong with you, love? We’re fine—you’re such an overthinker. By the way, why did you call?"I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders upon hearing that, but why was Claire outside? And what was she doing at Gray’s Company?I took a deep breath before telling her the truth. I didn’t want her to know because I was afraid something might happen to her and our child, but I knew how important Claire was to her.I saw the joy on Bea’s face when she found out Claire was pregnant. On our wedding day, she had cried endlessly because of what a friend had said."Love, please don’t be shocked—it might affect you and our baby.""Okay, sure. CLAIRE I woke up crying and immediately held my stomach. "My baby! My baby!" "Claire! Shh... Claire, calm down. The twins are okay now! They're fine!" I looked at Bea because of what she said and grabbed her arm. "Bea, my children! My children!" Bea hugged me to calm me down. "Shh, the twins are okay, Claire. Don’t worry anymore." Because of her words, I looked at her, seeking reassurance. "Yes, they're fine now. That’s what your doctor said. He told me your babies are strong—they fought hard." I burst into tears again at her words and touched my swollen belly. "Forgive Mommy for what I did, my babies. It won’t happen again! We’ll never show ourselves to your father again—he almost killed you!" "What? What do you mean, killed?!" I looked at Bea at her question, seeing the confusion in her eyes. "Z-Zekiel, Bea. Zekiel did this to me. He pushed a woman onto me, making me hit the floor and fall. H-he said we deserved it for being attention-seekers." I cried

  • Carrying the child of a CEO (English)   [07] I can't tell... yet

“WHY were you at Gray Company, Claire? And of all the places you could stop, it had to be right in front of Kiel? I already told you, that guy has a short temper—and it’s gotten worse now.” I couldn’t answer Dylan’s question. Mom and Nanay were already here. They said they were so worried about me that they even went to my house to get my clothes while I was asleep. I glanced at Bea, who also seemed uneasy about Dylan’s question. I scrambled for an excuse to get out of this. He might suspect something about why I was really there. “Uhh, well… I was supposed to meet a friend—mine and Bea’s friend. She works at Zekiel’s company. But then my stomach started hurting a little, so I had to stop right in front of Zekiel… and then, well, that happened.” Dylan nodded, but I doubted he believed me. He must have seen the CCTV footage—and I definitely didn’t look like I was in pain. The pain I felt was… different. “Oh, Kiel said he’s really sorry. He didn’t mean to do it. He wanted to a

THREE MONTHS LATER “Keep pushing, hija! Don’t stop now!” I didn’t think I could take the pain any longer—my body felt like it was breaking apart. I didn’t have the strength to push anymore. “Ahhh!!!” I forced myself anyway until, finally, my first child was born. The cries of my newborn filled the room as I collapsed onto the bed, gasping for air. “It’s a boy! Your firstborn is a boy, Claire!” Dr. Anderson—Dylan’s mother—announced excitedly. On the day the twins were in danger, I learned that Dylan had taken me to his mother—my own doctor. We were shocked at the coincidence. I’d never even met his mother before. “Claire! Claire, wake up! There’s still another baby inside you!” Her voice echoed in my ears, but my eyelids were too heavy to lift. “Claire, you have to wake up! If you don’t, your baby will d!e!” I tried. I needed to save my child—but the pain was unbearable. I felt like I was dying. “I… I can’t, Auntie ,” I choked out, sending the room into chaos.

CLAIRE couldn’t stop her tears when the baby boy was placed in her arms first, followed by the baby girl. She cradled one in each arm, and the moment she held them close, they suddenly quieted down. “T-twins… I’m your mommy,” Claire whispered. As soon as she spoke, both babies opened their eyes—revealing two pairs of striking gray eyes that made her cry even harder. “You got my eyes!” she said joyfully as they instinctively nuzzled closer. “Our grandchildren are so beautiful! Though it seems they only got your eyes, Claire. They must take after their father,” Lucing remarked. “Well, he must be handsome too—look how gorgeous they are!” Erin chimed in happily, making Claire glance at her through her tears. “Mom… I’m so happy,” Claire murmured as Erin gently wiped her tears away. CLAIRE A few days later, our lives returned to normal, but now it’s even happier because we have Zayne and Zoey. When I gave birth, Mom and Nanay were overjoyed, and even now, they’re still so happy taking care of the twins. Sometimes, they even fall asleep on my bed, so I just let them stay there while I sleep on the couch. I can’t contain the overwhelming happiness I’ve felt since the moment I saw the twins. I remember how Zoey’s and my life were almost in danger—I didn’t even know I had a heart condition. From what I know, that kind of illness is hereditary, but how? Has it ever been in our family? Maybe from Papa, since I’ve never met him. Thankfully, it was caught early, because otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to bear losing one of the twins. There are two of them, and as much as possible, I want them to always stay together. As for Bea, from what I know, she’ll be giving birth any day now, but the thing is, they’re all in another country. They chose to have

They were already on their way home because after that encounter, they didn’t stay much longer, especially since the weather was getting hotter. They only had lunch at a restaurant, and now the twins were asleep in the back of the car. While on the road, Camille suddenly crossed Claire’s mind. “Zekiel, where is Camille, by the way?” Zekiel glanced at her briefly, his brow furrowing because she had brought it up so suddenly. “That girl? According to Hero, she’s in jail.” “Jail? Why? Is she locked up permanently?” Zekiel’s frown deepened at her question. “What do you mean ‘why’? Of course, she deserves to be there! She almost got you all in danger because of her, and I won’t let that slide.” Zekiel’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, while Claire fell silent, lost in thought. ’In danger…’ she whispered in her mind before her eyes suddenly widened. “Do you think Camille was the one who did that to Zoey?!” Zekiel looked at her briefly. “Impossible, my life. “Z-Zekiel, fine. I’ll introduce you to Mama, and we’ll visit her grave. But I have one question,” Claire said nervously. She didn’t want to reject him—it would hurt him, even though she did want what he was offering. It just wasn’t the right time. “Go on,” Zekiel replied quickly, making Claire sigh. “The kids, Zekiel. We can’t just forget what happened to Zoey. What are we going to do about it?” Zekiel fell silent, then immediately felt anger rise within him. In the brief moment of happiness with his family, he had forgotten about the person who had tried to kill his child. “I’ll find him,” Zekiel said firmly. “I’ll go with you, Zekiel.” He turned to her, his expression softening. “No. I won’t let you put yourself in danger, Claire—especially not while you’re pregnant.” “Who said anything about fighting? I’ll just help you plan and search.” Zekiel was taken aback—how did she know they were going to fight? “How did you know we’d be fighting?” “Huh? O-Oh—“ Claire flinc

We won’t let anything tear us apart,” Claire said sweetly, making Zekiel glance at her and smile, which she returned. “Goodnight, Mommy and Daddy!” Zayne suddenly said, already lying down and yawning, making them laugh before they settled in as well. “Goodnight, twins,” Claire turned off the lampshade beside her and hugged Zayne, who snuggled into her. Her eyes met Zekiel’s from the other side of the bed, their children nestled between them. ‘I love you,’ Zekiel whispered into the air, and the woman understood, replying softly. ‘I love you too.’ --- THE NEXT MORNING, Claire woke up early and saw that her family was still fast asleep. Everyone had dinner together after arriving at Zekiel’s house. The noise around them never stopped, especially because of the kids—Bea and Dylan’s child was there. “What’s your baby’s name again, Bea?” Quinn asked with a smile, holding the baby’s tiny hands. “His name is Fritz.” “What a beautiful name, baby boy! And you’re so cute!” Quinn cooed happily. “Do you want one like him?” Bea teased, grinning as Quinn nodded while playing with the baby. “Then tell your boyfriend that,” Bea added, making Quinn widen her eyes in shock as she stared at her friend. “How did you two even happen?! I was only gone for a few months, and now you and Kuya are together?!” Claire pretended to scold her friend, making Bea burst into laughter at her reaction. “W-wait! I had nothing to do with that—“ ”Oh, Claire! Quinn here loves me so much—she’s absolutely obsessed with me,” Quinn’s eyes nearly popped out when Timothy suddenly appeared. “You’re so shameless! You twisted the whole story!”

Take care there!” After that call, she went straight to Zoey’s room and saw that the twins were already asleep, while Zekiel was waiting for her. “Why did you take so long?” the young man greeted her. “Louise called to check up on me.” Zekiel frowned at her words. “Louise? I blocked that guy—how was he still able to call you?” Claire’s ears perked up at what Zekiel said, remembering Louise mentioning he couldn’t reach her. “You! You’re the reason Louise couldn’t contact me right away!” Claire whispered sharply, almost shouting, making Zekiel freeze. “M-Me? But isn’t that Timothy? He didn’t say anything back then.” Bea glanced at her friend, realizing that even she didn’t know the full truth about Claire’s past. “Why don’t you ask Timothy? I’m sure he knows something since he’s acquainted with Claire’s brother, Clark.” Quinn shot her boyfriend a sharp look. “A-Ahh, well… it’s a long story,” Timothy awkwardly laughed at his girlfriend. “Hey, my life,” Zekiel called out, causing Claire and her friends to freeze. “I think we should head out now. “Wait, Bea, I have a question,” Zekiel said, making everyone turn to him—even Claire waited for what he was about to say. “What is it?” “Did you have anything to do with why Mom and Dad showed up at my meeting with the board members back when Camille and I almost got married?” Suddenly, Claire remembered that incident—the very reason she had to go to Gray’s Company in the first place, because of the arranged marriage between Zekiel and Camille. “Ah, about that… Quinn was the one who made that decision, Claire, not me!” Claire frowned at the sudden shift in Bea’s expression, especially since she was looking at her when it was Zekiel who had asked the question, not her. “Why am I being dragged into this?” she asked, glancing between the two friends. “What do you mean you? It was Bea!” Claire only got more confused by what was happening—until the men approached them and Timothy spoke up. “They both said you were the owner of Cs Boutique.” (Flashback) “This is a huge mes

CLAIRE I couldn’t move from where I stood because of what I heard. Suddenly, the words of Kuya Clark and Timothy flashed through my mind. “How did that person get in here?! Don’t you have security?!” Zekiel’s voice rose, and I didn’t stop him because even I was furious about their negligence. “I’m really sorry, Mr. Gray, but this is a hospital. Anyone can enter, and we didn’t expect something like this to happen.” The doctor was right—we shouldn’t blame anyone because, first of all, no one wanted this. Who would’ve thought our daughter would be in danger? “Z-Zekiel, that’s enough. The doctor’s right. All we need to do now is find out who did this,” I said, tightening my grip on his hand, which made him sigh. He stared at me for a long moment before forcing a smile. This was one of the changes in him that I liked—he’d become humbler for me, unlike before when he was so prideful and quick to yell. “Okay, fine. Give me the footage, Doc. We’ll handle it.” The doctor nodd

When they turned toward the source, they saw Zoey was awake. “Zoey!” Claire immediately approached the child and asked how she was feeling. “Z-Zoey! You’re awake! How do you feel? How are you, sweetheart?” Claire asked rapidly. “I-I’m okay, Mommy… I’m thirsty…” “She wants water! Call the doctor, hurry!” Claire said frantically. Zekiel moved quickly and handed Claire the water. “Hey, calm down, okay? You’re panicking too much,” the man said to the woman, holding her hand that was clutching the glass of water.
