My forehead creases as I turn to look at him. Damian is now back looking on the road so I tilted my head a little to make sure if if he isn’t kidding or what.

“Why the sudden invitation?” I asked, chuckling a little which made him look at me.

He shrug his shoulder once, not looking at me. “I just feel like drinking tonight.” He seriously muttered.

I smirk before I lean my back on the seat, trying to relax myself after what happened earlier. I never saw Rael that wasted. Often, he stays sober with Levi or even with Nathan for Everleigh and I but now, he just looks… devastated.

With a nodding head, I did not turn my head to look abct at Damian. Instead, I lean the side of my head on the window—entertaining myself on what’s outside.

“I know a place.” I simply muttered and I guess, that is an enough cue for Damian that we are really going to drink tonight.

I hissed inside. Odd.

A few seconds passed when I felt someone holding me on my arm before it slides down on to my waist.“I told you to slow down.”I shriek when I heard Damian’s voice on my ear. With a grin on my face, I turn to where he is before cupping his cheeks, moving it to and fro. “Slow down, slow down! I can’t!” I exclaimed, wanting to let go from his hold. “I want to

I entered the kitchen after Levi and I talked. He just simply told me that Rael woke up already but they both planned not to go to class today because according to him—he’s gonna talk with Rael himself and since it is Friday, they will be returning to the hometown and join Nathan and Leigh there. I felt bad a bit because I told them that I will join them both but he Levi did not allow me to. He made an excuse that it’s gonna be a man to man talk so even though I feel about it, I just shove the thoughts off and just decided to stay here alone since I still have a Saturday class with my foreign subject.Damian turns his head at me when he notice that there is someone entering the kitchen. He smiled while I sat down on the stool, facing the counter.“The omelette is almost over. Eat a sandwich for now.”I watch him do something I did not thought he would do for me. Days and weeks passed by so fast. Damian and I maintained the distance, we did not talk like the usual. We just talk about the improvements of the baby, nothing more personal. I have been hiding crying under the sheets for weeks now as well but I woke up feeling a lot better than the previous day. I kept reminding myself to be strong for this little me inside me and that I should continue this damn of a hell-hole.Today, it’s Friday. Leigh and Alaric would be coming here after class so I prepared and ordered foods for us. Damian already said himself that I can definitely treat this house as my own, so inviting my friends would not be a big deal. In fact, he even went to pay Aubrey a visit on their rented unit last day so I think we are both fair towards each other. I cup my belly when my stomach growl. I check for the time and sees it’s almost twelve in the afternoon already so I grab some few slices from the steak I ordered from Denvi’s place. I go on my monthly check up as well and

People there are enjoying their little vacation, perhaps some of these are students who just finished their term exam. We are both leaning on his car while we are on the side way. Silence envelopes us for long minutes now, no one is talking. We just enjoyed our company without necessary words to speak. I know that there are lots of question running through his head, even I.Questions like, why? Where did we go wrong? Did I trust him too much? Was I that gullible? And lastly, why is he treating Aubrey unlikely? But the latter seems cool seeing us yesterday—like the first day I saw her. I do not know if was I too stupid not to notice or there is really something going on between Damian and I.A loud sigh escape from my lips before tilting my head. “Aren’t you hungry?” I asked to break the silence, remembering that we never had our lunch still. It’s already eight in the evening when Alaric sent me home after hours of riding the car near the sea side. After Damian left earlier, Alaric invited me for a drive for me to ease the burden feeling I was dealing with earlier. Unlike what Damian said, I did not wait for him back there. And now, as I head inside the n=entrance of the house, the lights from the living room are already off except upstairs. I took a heavy breath while going towards the kitchen and drink a glass of water.
