Chapter 177: Another realm

My feet hit solid ground after the nauseating ride, but for the first time, I didn't stumble. Sam held me close, but quickly released his brother. We found ourselves in a vast field atop a hill. It was night, and a large, round moon hung in the sky. The grass beneath us was slightly damp, and the cool night air brushed against my skin.

But it was the castle that caught my attention first.

It bore a striking resemblance to Sam’s—well, mine too, I suppose.

A black Gothic structure, with towering pillars even higher than those at the castle of Wrath. A permanent swirl of dark clouds loomed overhead, occasionally lit by flashes of lightning. The castle stood below us, making it easy to overlook the expansive kingdom that lay before it.

“Wow.” Lucifer breathed, echoing my thoughts.

“My friend.“

I flinched at the voice behind us, spinning around and instinctively grabbing Sam's arm. Lucifer did the same. But Sam remained relaxed, shrugging off Lucifer’s grip as he stepped forward.
