REID'S POINT OF VIEW

I paced back and forth in my study, nearly at the verge of losing it.

It had been three days since Brian's last call, and I still hadn't heard back from him.

The pressure was nearly crippling. I needed answers, and I needed them soon.

What was taking him so long? Had Nyla not agreed to it yet? And why had she not?

I rubbed my temples, trying to ease the tension building behind my eyes.

Just then, the door to my study creaked open, and my father stepped inside, his expression grave.
