Chapter 6

Two months swiftly pass, with Evan and Aiden preparing for their upcoming task in front of them. This night was to be their night. They were going to start sleeping outside for the full moon to rise fully.

"I think am nervous," Evan told Aiden

" There is nothing to be Nervous about, besides you got your family to be around you," Aiden told Evan

"I know but…"

" Okay boys, it's time, to go outside and sit in under the mood, close your eyes, and let the cool saint of the air take you away," Derrick said to them, and they did exactly what Derrick told them to do

It was already midnight, and the moon was rising slowly, so at the stars. Aiden and Evan weren't their selves anymore, they were taken away by the moon and the stars as they perform their rite on them

Three days slowly passed and at midnight, The moon and the stars had commenced fully, the night was shining bright, it rained heavily, thunderstruck everywhere, and immediately the moon and star shine on them, Loud groan was heard everywhere, and Aiden, Evan and the rest of the wolves that were around then groaning Loud, and they bowed to them.

After some time, the Moon slowly went inside as so as the stars, and that was when Aiden and Evan came back to their selves, They felt pain around them, they were weak and were taken inside to heal

"I had told you guys that the rites of becoming an Alpha aren't hard, what is going to be hard is the hard task that is ahead of you two" Gerrad said

"But am feeling the pain now dad, I don't know when I will be able to stand up from here," Aiden said to his dad

"By tomorrow it's going to heal," Gerrad said

"I will leave you two now, get some sleep"

Gerrad said and left

"Now, I can't wait to see what my mate would look like," Aiden said

"Why are you eager to meet your mate, didn't you hear we would face a heavy task ahead," Evan said

"When the time reaches, we would know what to do, but now, I wish I could see her now," Aiden said

"I need to rest, I may die if I keep on talking to you with this pain I am enduring," Evan said and faced the other side of the bed.

Evan and Aiden healed so fast, it wasn't surprising to them because they were already told about it.

The preparation for the attack started, They were going to attack their enemy in the next few days

"Everything is set," one of the Derrick men told him

"Go check on the starlight park and tell Gerrard to give you information, if anything is required there," Derrick said to the man and left

On his way, he called Dan, the inner eyes in the high court park

"Any information," Derrick asked

"The king has hired many guards to protect everywhere, it's going to be hard for you all to enter" Dan explained

"Is there not a place that isn't guarded? like a little entry" Derrick said worriedly, he wouldn't want all their efforts to waste

"There is, but that place is through the princess courtyard, I will lead you when you arrive," Dan said

" We will be attacking the night of her birthday, and remember, the princess's safety is in your hands, don't allow anything to happen to her" Derek cautioned him

" I know, I have to go now," He said and Hung up, Derrick was about to turn to go, When he saw Evan at his back

"Why to secure the princess, isn't she the daughter of the greedy man?" Evan asked

"She is, but she and her brother has nothing to do with it, Her brother can take care of himself when it comes to fighting but is not sure she can" Derrick answered walking away

"Is she my mate?" Evan suddenly asks, making Derrick stop in his track

"That I don't know, Am not supposed to tell you your mate, just secure any girl that gave a feeling to your heart," Derrick said without looking back at Evan

"You all are confusing me, how am I supposed to know any girl that has anything to do with my heart," Evan said almost yelling, all this was already frustrating him, and he doesn't like it

"I have no answers to that boy, calm down and you will understand, Get back to work immediately," Derrick said and left. Evan was confused, he stood there trying to formulate what his father had just told him when someone touched him on his shoulder

"Evan, what are you thinking about?" Aiden asked

"What are you doing here, aren't you supposed to be preparing for their so-called battle?" Evan questioned Aiden, trying not to answer the first question Aiden had asked

"So-called battle? Last time I checked, you are leading this battle, why the sudden sad expression on your face?" Aiden asked

"Why can't they just go straight to the point and tell me she is my mate, Than telling me some sought of feelings," Evan said sitting on the seat that was beside them, and Aiden followed suit

"Or maybe she isn't, or they were told not to tell you, remember dad said it was a task for us, You also told me we should prepare for the task ahead, Why are you running away from yours?" Aiden said, trying to comfort Evan, He knew his friend was in pain. He knew Evan loves sincerity

"I Know it's a task, but I just feel I need to know, what if I killed her in the process?" Evan said with said emotion

"Don't worry, I will make sure I have that feeling when though you don't want to" Aiden said Smiling and facing the other side

"Don't think of doing anything stupid, she is my mate!!" Evan said already becoming jealous

"Cool boy, I don't say I would take her away from you. Wait, is this jealousy?" Aiden asked, Making Evan glare hard at him before standing up and walking away.

Aiden laughed hard and followed his best friend who was already heading to the other park.
