Chapter 25

After art class with Mrs. Ruiz as our teacher I was ready for the day to end. I was so tired of Angels new attitude, and most of all I was tired of talking it was making my head hurt. I never had to have so many conversations my brain was not used to this. I have never used my link so much in one day with so many people. I found out later in art class Mrs. Ruiz didn’t bother waking Cody for sleeping in class. Turns out she is a member of our pack, and she knew Cody. Not sure how she knows him, but I think she his aunt or something.

After art class was lunch, and I was starving. Mom had put money on mine and Jacobs’s accounts, so we can buy lunch each day. Lunch time was the first time I got to see Jacob since this morning. I didn’t even see him in the halls between classes.

I stood in line with Bobby behind me holding me. He had his arm wrapped around my waist. Kind of protective like. Rubbing small circles with his thumb on the smal

Chapter 26 Bobby and I walked in silence down the schools hallways and out to the waiting limo. David was waiting there and opened the door for us to enter. I looked around and wondered why Jacob was not with us; my dad must have known what I was thinking because he spoke up.“Jacob will be fine. I do not need to take him from class because his life is not in danger.” Dad said sadly. Danger what danger, suddenly Bobby was holding me in his lap very protectively. I gave him a week smile and looked back at my dad. Almost as if on cue he knew what I was thinking again.“Robert is here for added protection, mates are very protective. Besides he will help keep you calm as well.” Dad informed me. Bobby held me tighter in his lap. I knew Bobby would not be leaving my sight any time soon. I don’t think I wanted him to leave though anyways. I felt so attached to

Chapter 27 Bobby sat outside my bedroom door for over half an hour before he started to talk to me. He wanted me to open the door. But I lay on my bed in wolf form, I had no intension of changing back yet because my wolf was helping me cope and this form kept everyone out of my head without me trying.“Penny I don’t understand why you ran from me, can you please change back and talk with me?” Bobby kept talking to me.“Penny do you remember the night we met?” He paused and I shook my head yes even though he could not see me.“I remember like it was yesterday. When you just so gently touched me my skin sparked and was set on fire. It was a good fire; I felt warm and safe and loved. In that moment I knew you we were mates.” He stopped taking a few breaths.“I could remember your smell, your eyes everything about you I loved

Chapter 28* Jacob POV * After Angel took Penny and I to school I went to get my schedule then parted from the girls. I had all the opposite classes from my sister. I was kind of happy, this way it would force Penny to open up and talk to others, and I mean mind link with others in the pack. Dad said we could trust members of the pack so I knew any person she met here from our pack was safe. At least I hope he was completely right. My sister met her mate and most likely she would meet up with him today so I had to let her grow up some and move out from my shadow. Besides I had my own issue with my mate. I was not interested in seeing her. I needed to make sure my sister was alright before I get tangled in a situation of my own.&nb

Chapter 29 Bobby and I followed my father down the stairs to the living room. We held each other’s hands the entire way. It was nearly the evening by now and if I had to guess it was probably six in the evening. When we reached the living room the giant grandfather clock chimed six times making my guess correct. I was momentarily impressed with my guessing capabilities. Dad sat us down on the same couch as earlier. Mom looked more refreshed then last time we talk, she must have calmed down considerably during the time I was freaking out. I think my parents knew why I was upset and knew it would all end well. They must want me and Bobby to be together, but it bothers me when dad calls him Robert. I was brought out of my thoughts when dad started to talk.“Ok, well we all know that there are people who are

Chapter 30 Bobby chased after me, with much enthusiasm. His chocolaty eyes glowed with delight. I had to admit this was also much fun for me as well. The hall to my room was a long one and as soon as I made it to my door I felt Bobby’s hands on my waist. After that chase having his hands on my body lit me up like fireworks. Bobby took me by my waist and picked me up bridal style. We were still outside my bedroom. I had never been carried by a man before. Bobby opened my door with a quick flick and pushed it open with his foot. He took me over to my bed and laid me down. The entire time our eyes were locked on each other. I did not have the strength to look away. “Penny would you like to change into your sleeping clothes?” Bobby said, breaking my g

Chapter 31 I lay in my bed just taking in Bobby’s smell, and thinking about the day before. I don’t think I moved all night as Bobby held me in his strong arms. It was the best night of sleep since the night Jacob laid down with me to keep the dreams away. Those very dreams that have haunted me for years I’d never wish what Mrs. D had done to my brother and I on anyone not even my worst enemy. Or what happened with the other homes we were in after Mrs. D died. But if it happened any different, I might not have the family I have now or the life I have now. Things happen for a reason, and I kind of rather like the outcome. Even if we are still trying to figure things out, I have powers and now we need to see what Jacobs’s powers are. I wasn’t ready for Bobby to find out how bad my past was or that I still had nightmares.

Chapter 32Jacob sat on his bed sipping his still hot coffee. He was looking towards his window in a daze when he spoke up. “When I followed Angel through the woods, I had no idea it would lead to the end of her life. She was only a year older than us and now she’s gone. I can’t believe she’s gone. How can a father kill let alone harm their own child?” I shook my head with my own discuss over the issue. I was going to miss her. She was my first friend ever and even if that last day was weird, I know knew it wasn’t her fault.‘You had no idea this would happen. But please try not worry. I had seen what you saw and I know that there was nothing you could have done. He moved to fast and there was no way you could run to her fast enough. You had no idea he was going to hit her, let alone so hard it could kill her.’ I told him. I was still holding his other hand, gently rubbing circles on his hand trying to reass

Chapter 33 We sat at the table eating the food mom cooked for us for a long time. It was nice having everyone sitting together and especially treating Bobby as family. It felt good to be part of a loving family. Father had Jacob’s mate called so she could be brought to our house. She was told she needed go to a meeting at the pack house. This way Jacob could meet her, and she could learn they were mates. No since in waiting. Dad said she should be with him anyways. He would have his own support system. If our enemy found out who she was she could be in danger as well. I think my brother was afraid of being rejected. We share the same self-esteem issues. Heather was beautiful and very popular in school. We both felt like outcast ever since we were small. It has always been just the two of us. It was hard to open up, and a lot has been happening recently that we needed to adjust to.&n

Chapter 52 Barnett looked just like Id imagine Albert Einstein would look like in real life, maybe a little bit younger in mid-forties. But I was bad at guessing ages, especially now that I know about werewolves. Since we age slower. Father doesn’t look more then forty. I’m not even sure how old mom and dad are. That’s something I’m going to need to find out. I don’t even know when their birthdays are. Even after almost three years of living here. I never thought to ask about such details. We never celebrated it before, just our birthdays ever mattered. Back to this Barnett guy. He was sitting with mom, in dad’s office. We seemed to have a lot of meetings in here. He had a stack of old leather-bound books siting on the table in front of him. Mom and Barnett looked like they were just casually talking like they were old friends. &nb

Chapter 51 Alpha Dillion and his Beta Arthur made their way to the fighting ring towards my brother. They stood side by side in a ready fighting stance. He stood in the middle waiting. Jacob didn’t even look phased from the first fight. They were going to go at him head on and all at once and not from opposite sides. I think they wanted to see what he would do with two at the same time. Jacob is fast on his feet and creative in his fighting. They stayed in human form and ran towards my brother. Dillion went high with his claws extended towards Jacob. Arthur went low. Arthur dove down towards his legs, he tried swiping with his claws extended to claw at his thigh. But my brother jumped over him up high in the air and summersaulted down and slid passing under Dillions launch. Dillion flew over Jacob not expecting his movements to be so f

Don’t worry you have gotten a lot stronger with your magic.’ She told me. I told my dad, Bobby, and Jacob what my wolf said. Jacobs wolf on the other hand didn’t like either of the guys. He was on his back and my head was on his chest my leg swung over his body. I lay there listening to his breathing. I think he was still asleep. So, I tried to softly move off him to get up and attend to my bathroom needs. I was almost up off his body when grabbed me tightly and brought me back to his chest. “Don’t you dare move.” He spoke. ‘But I need to pee.’ I pleaded with him. We have been spending the last week pouring over any books or documents we could find. Even anything paranormal that might relate to our situation. I was impressed how well Penny could wiz out of the room and back so easily now she called it blinking, because that’s how fast it looked. No doubt she’s been practicing behind my back. I’m proud of her though she’s taking this rather well, she’s tougher than she looks. Our new theory is the Doctor might need the healing abilities for some reason. Maybe for himself or someone else. William the only one with his car that day drove himself. We headed home close to dinner time. Mom had pizza ordered and it would be delivered by the time we got home. Once home we all entered the kitchen area. Daddy greeted me with a hug “How was your day sweetheart?” he said. ‘Good’ I tried to introduce all the guys, but dad knew all of them. I hadn’t seen him since him since last Monday when school started, I missed him he was the first person I got to know at school. I sat with Bobby to my left Jacob on my right and Heather to his right. Kris was in front of me. “Penny, I’m so glad to see you back. Were you sick or something what happened?” Kris had asked me. We were all in dad’s office talking about Jacob’s ability to heal amazingly fast. “I don’t want him to keep trying to see how well he can heal, its scary what if its like a power cell and you deplete your abilities just practicing and when you really need to heal you can’t because you used it up.&rd
