Kiara's POV

I took a long walk after I left the meeting hall. I walked through the gardens and watched the flowers in bloom then I walked around the ground with no one to talk to me or say anything remotely annoying to me.

I reflected on the fact that there was nothing I could do about my situation that wouldn't just make me feel worse.

It was late when I headed back up to my room wanting to rest feeling so emotionally drained.

When I got back to my room, I saw something on the bed. It was wrapped as a present.

I opened the box expecting it would be an apology gift from Dorian only to see a rose and boxes of my favourite brand of chocolate alongside a handwritten note.

It meant as much to me as it did you. Love, Damien.

I knew instantly what he was talking about. That night that he had told me to push Dorian away because I would only hurt him.
