Chapter 415

Sean was panting as he rushed back to Alyssa's place, the chilly fall air clinging to him. His forehead glistened with sweat.

Alyssa didn't immediately ask him about the outcome; instead, she strode to the coffee table and poured him a glass of warm water.

She handed the glass over to him and said, "Take a rest first and have some warm water. It's cold outside, isn't it?"

As Sean took the glass, the tips of his chilly fingers brushed against Alyssa's. It felt warm, and his heart skipped a beat.

"Have a seat and relax."

Alyssa turned and sat on the couch. She had her legs crossed beneath her nightgown and her peach-colored velvet slippers perched on the tips of her toes.

Sean's face was slightly flushed as he held the glass awkwardly in his hands.

He took a moment to regulate his breathing before speaking, "Ms. Alyssa, everything turned out just as you expected. Bryan and Abigail knew each other, and they're much more than just friends!"
