Chapter 5

"What's wrong with him?" Rita asked.

 "I'll talk to him, don't worry. Liam said and left behind Arvan.

I didn't know what was happening. Why did he leave after hearing about my mate? Did I offend him again? But I didn't do anything.

I was worrying about Arvan when Vector said,

 "Don't worry Rose. He'll be fine. Maybe something came up and he had to go."

 "Yeah maybe," I replied.

"No, I know him, he would never do that unless someone offended him. Did you do something unusual, Rose? " Lina asked while looking sharply at me.

 "No, I didn't do anything," I replied immediately.

 Lina rolled her eyes and started to talk with Rita.

 "Don't worry, maybe he is disturbed by something." Alice said.

 I nodded. A few minutes later, I said, 

 "I need to go to the washroom, excuse me."

 "The washroom is outside the left corner," Rita informed.

 "Thank you." I smiled at her.

 Alice looked at me and asked,

 "Do you want me to come with you?" 

 "No, I'll be back soon," I replied and left.

 I was searching for the washroom. Rita said the left corner so I went there.

When I reached the corner, I heard murmuring, someone was talking.

 Then I saw Liam & Arvan standing beside the gents' washroom. Arvan was smoking and Liam was saying something to him. Right opposite them was the lady's washroom. I stopped there and couldn't go far.

"Arvan, relax. She came because Vector told her to come. It's not her fault," Liam said.

 "That girl! How dare she come? So what if Vector told her? That doesn't mean she had to come. She could deny him easily. Does anybody want her there? The answer is no, a big NO." Arvan replied.

 "Please buddy, calm down. She looks like a good girl." Liam added.

 "What did you say? Good girl? You know how much I dislike her, right? She is such a weakling. Whenever she is around I feel disgusted." He growled.

I felt disgraced. Was he disgusted by me? Why? We only had one conversation. After that day I didn't even try to talk with him. Why is he feeling disgusted? Am I too weak? Was it that bad to be an omega? I was feeling numb. I felt heartbroken. A tear rolled down from my eyes to my cheeks, then I realized I was crying. 

 Then I did what I always do, run. 

 I ran from there as fast as I could before they saw me.

I was crying, I didn't know how I could go home with my current situation. I was afraid that mom would see me in this condition. But I had to go home. I didn't want to stay here anymore.

 I sent a message to Alice that I was leaving.

 She called me and asked me what had happened but I didn't tell her anything.

When I went home it was already night.

 When I entered, I saw mom was sleeping on the couch. I felt bad for her.

 "Mom, wake up, I'm back," I reported.

 "Rose, are you back? Why do you come late? Are you okay? What happened to your eyes?" She interrogated.

 "I'm okay, mom. I'm just feeling sleepy. Please go to your room and sleep peacefully." I hugged her and whispered.

 She looked confused but didn't say anything more.

I went to my room and lied down on the bed without changing my clothes.

 I felt awful. I didn't know why he was hating me. Disgust was a very difficult statement that I couldn't take it. I thought about what my mom told me. I should stay away from him.

I contacted my wolf with our mind links.

 "Next week we will find our mate. I hope he will accept us without being disgusted, Rosalie." I said sadly.

 "Don't cry, Rose. He will never feel disgusted. He was born to be with us. We will be happy after finding our mate." My wolf assured me.

 I silently cried and didn't know when I fell asleep.

Time flew so fast.

 Tomorrow would be my birthday. After the club incident, I always ignored Arvan. I didn't cross his path again. I stayed away from him. But the feelings inside my heart for him had been growing deeper. Why did I feel like that for him? He was a stranger to me. He insulted me twice. How many times he insulted me behind my back in front of his friends I didn't even know.

But I still thought about him. I was not like that, I was better than that. But one thing was strange, my wolf also liked him, was attracted to him. I was just hoping that everything would be fine soon. Maybe tomorrow my life would be changed. I would be happy in my life forever and forget about him.

"Rose, come downstairs." My mom yelled.

 "Coming, mom." I shouted from upstairs.

 When I went downstairs, mom said, 

 "Alpha Michael just called me." 

 "Alpha Micheal? The former head Alpha? Why mom?" I was surprised.

 "He wants us to go to the pack house and celebrate your birthday." She declared happily.

 "What? Celebrate my birthday? But why did he want to celebrate my birthday? I remember I met him only once. We are not that close to his family." I argued with my mom.

 "What are you saying, Rose? Your dad was very close to him. It's just after your dad died I didn't want to go to the pack house and meet with everyone because it would remind me of your dad. I was sad and broke. But how long? And he told me that your dad died by saving him so he doesn't want you to feel lonely on your 20th birthday, it's the day when you will find your mate after all " she chimed.

 "Mom, I don't feel good about it. I don't want to celebrate either. And what if my mate is not from this pack?" I buzzed.

 "It's ok, you can wait but you have to celebrate honey, it's your day. I can't deny the former Alpha, he is a very respectful person. He has already told everyone to come." She stated.

 "But mom- "

 Before I could complete it, mom interrupted me, 

 "Now get ready, it's already dark. We'll leave soon. We'll celebrate your birthday at midnight. Call Alice to come. Now go, hurry up." She demanded.

I went to my room. I felt uncomfortable about all of this. What if Arvan thought I was impudent? 

 But what should I do? His father invited us by himself, so it was not my fault anyway.

Then I got ready. I was wearing a cute long white dress. My mom bought it for me to wear on my birthday. Three weeks ago, I was very excited about my birthday and my mate. But now I was not feeling happy because I knew I couldn't get the person whom I wanted.

I went downstairs and met mom.

 "My Princess is looking so good. If your father was alive, he would be very happy to see you." She got emotional.

 I controlled my tears and hugged her, 

 "It's okay mom. I believe that he is happy by watching us happy from far away." I said to her and stroked her hair.

 "Yeah, let's go now. Don't want the birthday girl to be late." She smiled.

Mom and I got in the car sent by the former Alpha to receive us.

 When we went to the pack house I was surprised.

 It was still the same. I came here with my dad when I was little. But after so many years, it felt the same.

We went inside and saw it was simply decorated. Did they decorate this for me?

 There were some people I didn't know and some I knew. Alice came and hugged me.

 "It's your birthday, my girl. Happy birthday." She screamed.

 "There is still time for that, Alice," I said and everyone laughed.

 "Hey, birthday girl," Vector said.

 "Hello." I said.

 I saw Rita and Lina. Then they nodded to me and I nodded back.

 "Rose Lee. You are a big girl now, I couldn't even recognize you." Former Luna, Rivana said when she and Alpha Michael came to us.

 "Thank you." I thanked her.

 "Your daughter is beautiful just like you, Selena." She told my mother.

 "Yes, you are right, Rivana." Alpha Michael agreed with his mate.

 "It's been a long time since we met. I'm grateful that both of you arranged the party for my daughter." My mom let out.

 "What are you saying? Your husband was my best friend, I can't forget how he fought to save me, my life is indebted to him" He said sadly.

I was impressed by them. They were humble. Because in every war so many beta and gamma died by saving their Alpha but nobody took it as a debt.

"It's time to cut your cake," Alice cheered.

 "But without our head Alpha, how can we start the celebration?" Lina asked.

 "And the Alpha's beta is not here either." Rita added.

"It's okay, I'm still here, so no need to wait for them to start the celebration. Maybe they got some work. They will come back soon. Don't worry." Alpha Michael said.

 I nodded to him and cut the cake. Everybody was clapping and cheering for me. I was happy. I fed a piece of cake to my mom and Alice then hugged them. Everyone was wishing me, cheering me on.

But suddenly I smelled a very strong scent. My heartbeat was so fast that I had to take deep breaths. The Scent of Rain & Dark Chocolate was driving me crazy. I started to walk and followed the scent. I knew whose scent was that. But why was the scent pulling me and I couldn't breathe?

When I went outside of the pack house, I saw Liam coming towards me. 

 "Happy Birthday to you Rose, sorry I'm late." Liam said and smiled.

 "It's okay. Thanks, Liam." I said while looking for the one whose scent was making me insane.

 "I'm going inside. Are you coming? Liam asked.

 " I'll come back soon. I just want to get some fresh air." I replied.

 "Okay, be careful." Liam said. He was looking very nervous.

 I nodded and he left.

I felt someone approaching me and the smell got closer and closer. I couldn't think straight.

 My wolf started to roar.

When I felt someone behind me, I turned around and saw him. He was so close to me! 

 I looked into his eyes. His eyes were glowing dark red.

"Mate." 

 My wolf said and started to howl happily.

I was so shocked and happy. But how was that possible?

I whispered while looking into his eyes, 

"MATE?"
