Chapter 5 Black ink marks

Kenny stopped the car outside a small apartment and pushed the door in.

Inside the house, a man said on the sofa as he waited for him.

"I never thought you would come so fast," Zeres said.

"Stop teasing me, you can't imagine how I tried to act so caring before they could allow me to leave," Kenny said as he sat down on the other end of the sofa.

"I can guess that you have lied to them about the place you are going?" Zeres said while giggling.

"Go straight to the point, I told them that I was going to pick up clothes for them and I would be back soon," Kenny said.

"Sorry bro for what you are going through. Where is she now?"

Kenny knew that he was asking about Natasha.

"She is okay, and she is at one of my apartments in the city," he said.

"Did you sign the divorce papers?"

"I had to. I know there are cameras installed all over my house, so I had no other option."

"For real? You signed the papers?" Zeres asked again.

Kenny smiled," the divorce papers are fake," he said.

"I knew it."

"Kenny, I think the antidote must be at their secret organization which I recently got information about," Zeres said.

"I just guessed it, they must have a secret base where they made such a deadly poison."

"So ,the problem is how we are going to get the antidote," Zeres said.

Kenny scratched his head as he responded, " Bro, we don't even know what it looks like, and where it is located on the base," he said.

"What did that monster tell you?" Zeres asked.

"He said that he would give me the antidote only after I married Sophia."

"Do you know that man?" Zeres asked.

"I don't know him bro, nor have I ever seen his face, since he is always putting on a face mask," he explained.

"How long will it take before the poison starts to act up?" Kenny asked.

"In a few months bro," Zeres responded.

"Fuck," Kenny cursed as he kicked the wall.

Zeres could feel his pain. If they couldn't get the antidote before the end of those few months, then Natasha would go blind if she didn't get the antidote.

There was a lot that Natasha was not aware of.

She did not know that her body was injected with a poison that could kill her in a few months' time.

The man she thought hated her was busy trying to find out a way to help her.

All the dark marks on her hands were just marks made by permanent ink but would fade away with time.

Everything was part of his plan. The blood that was being given to Sophia never belonged to Natasha.

There was something that Kenny guessed too, that Sophia's coma was faked too, but he could not prove it.

Zeres stared at Kenny, "we need to come up with a way of finding that antidote as soon as possible," he said.

Kenny could not even think properly. His mind was too much occupied with the thoughts of Natasha.

"Zeres, do you think I have become weak since the time I met her?" Kenny asked with his head low.

"Kenny, people usually say that love makes people weak, but that will never be the case for you. You can't blame yourself for being weak. It's only that we have not been cautious and careful for a while and that's why they knew your weakness and attacked when we least expected."

Kenny listened to Zeres carefully, then responded, "Bro, I am afraid of going back to my usual self of being ruthless. I don't want to scare her away."

"Kenny, there is one thing you need to understand. A person who truly loves you will never get scared of you. Once they know something about you, they will understand and support you wholeheartedly."

Kenny nodded his head in agreement.

"You just need to be open to each other, tell her who you are and what you do and I am sure she will support you."

Kenny left the place with the map of the place where the antidote might be and went back to the hospital only to find his mother and Sophia deep asleep.

He stood at the side of the bed and looked at the two women sleeping.

They were so lucky that they attacked him when he was unprepared.

While he was deep in thought, he heard a phone vibrating and when he looked around he realized that the phone was inside Sophia's bag, which was placed on top of the bedside drawer.

After checking and making sure that the two women were deep asleep, he opened the bag and took out the phone.

He checked the contact which had not been saved, with a name, and quickly memorized it in his head.

Kenny then returned the phone inside Sophia's bag and went outside.

He entered the contact information on his special wrist watch, then pressed the call button and the call was immediately picked up.

After hearing the voice from the other end of the call, he quickly ended the call, then smiled as he whispered, "guess it is the one and I guessed correctly that there was a relationship between them."

As soon as he ended the call, he went back to the ward knowing that even if that person he had called tried to call him back, the call wouldn't go through.

Kenny could not understand what the person and Sophia were planning to do. The man had given him so many threats but he could not act recklessly or else Natasha's life would be in danger and that's the thing he never wanted.

He had to play along with them, but once he saves Natasha and makes sure that she is okay, then he will make them pay for all the pain she has gone through.

He wanted them to enjoy thinking that they had won against him, but later he would make them fall down to a depth that they had never thought of.
