My heavy eyes fluttered open, the world around me a hazy blur of shadows and dim light. My head throbbed, a dull, persistent pain that seemed to pulse in tandem with my racing heartbeat.

I tried to sit up, but my body felt heavy as if I was sinking into the mattress beneath me.

Panic coursed through my body, and I quickly fought against the disorientation, forcing myself to prop upright.

My wary eyes scanned my surroundings. It wasn't familiar. The room swayed, and I quickly gripped the sheets, her fingers digging into the fabric as I struggled to regain my bearings.

Damn! I felt like shit! What the hell happened to me? And why was I here?

Panic spread through my veins like wildfire as I realized I wasn’t in any place I recognized.

What sort of place was this, and who could have brought me here?!

The last thing I recalled was a blur of faces, a chase in the dark, and then… nothing. My breath hitched in my throat, my chest tightening with fear. Where the hell was I?
