Lila
Seconds passed and everyone waited patiently for me to say something.
I didn't even know what decision to take.
Do I get married to a cursed wolf and live a more miserable life?
Or do I just allow myself die in the hands of Veronica and Vivian?
I simply couldn't let all those years go to waste.
Those years I had patiently waited for my mate.
At the same time, I had suffered too much from Veronica and Vivian to suffer even more from a beast I didn't even know.
I looked at my father. His eyes screamed at me to turn down the Alpha's offer. I averted my gaze to the Luna. She had a soft motherly look in her eyes. I couldn't quite guess what decision she hoped I took but I felt she wouldn't want me to turn down the offer.
The Alpha waited patiently to hear my answer.
I felt so pressured and it was sickening. If I turned away, I was going to die. If I gave in, it was simply a sentence to live with a cursed wolf until the day of my death.
Either way, I was still going to die, somehow, someday.
But I didn't want to be alone when I died.
I wanted to know the feeling of being married, before I died. It didn't have to be my fated mate, it didn't have to be Aiden.
All that mattered was that I was with someone before I died.
I guess agreeing to take Vivian's place wouldn't be such a bad idea after all.
Whatever Miguel would do to me, I would endure it all.
I've endured worse from my step mother and sister.
"I have decided that…." I exhaled sharply, closing my eyes.
Once I accepted, there would be no turning back.
My father's grip on my hand tightened.
"I have decided that I would accept your offer Alpha." I managed to smile at the end of my words.
Alpha Smith sighed in relief, smiling back at me.
"You have made a good decision Lila." He nodded.
"Lila are you sure this is what you want to do?" My dad asked me, disappointed that I had accepted the Alpha's offer.
"Yes dad."
"But you don't even know what he looked like." I could tell that my father yearned to tell me that this warrior was the rumoured cursed wolf.
I already knew that and even if I didn't, I still wouldn't change my mind.
"I will when I get married to him." I assured my father, holding his hand too.
I knew he was worried about my safety and happiness.
I wasn't safe and happy in that house anyway, maybe I would be with Miguel and even if I still didn't end up happy, I would accept it as my fate.
"Lila…" He whispered, tears welling up in his eyes.
"I know you're worried about me dad but I promise you that this is my decision. I didn't do this out of desperation, I did it because I wanted to." I lied.
Of course I was desperate to leave that house for good. Now that I finally got the opportunity, I wasn't going to let it slip.
"If I may ask Alpha, when do I get to see him?" I turned my attention away from my father to the Alpha who seemed very joyful about my decision.
"You two would meet tomorrow morning. Once you've met,we would begin preparations for your wedding with him. If you ever feel like we are taking things too fast, just voice out your feelings Lila." He explained.
"I'm fine with your decision Alpha." I responded.
Soon, I was going to be married, soon I was going to leave Veronica, Vivian,Aiden and the entire Mistwood pack.
The only person I was going to miss was my father.
I never really imagined leaving him like this but I guess fate had its way of springing surprises.
Tomorrow, I would finally be meeting with Miguel and know what he looked like.
Miguel
"Miguel, it's the curse. Isn't it?" Cable stared at me, waiting for my reply.
It’s too bad he had to bring it up.
"Look, I understand that you're scared that you might lose another one. But have you ever thought about it from another perspective? What if you tried again and this time, she didn't die, hmm?" Gone were the days when those words did something to encourage me.
"Seven of them died already. What would make this one any different?" I used to think that eventually, one of them would survive.
Not anymore.
"Miguel you can't find out if you remain alone."
"Find out by endangering a life?" It was painful and annoying that this was my life and I couldn't fight it.
"I don't want to kill more people, don't you get it? My curse is a curse I have to carry alone. Forcing some one else to would be the greatest evil ever committed." I tried to make him understand that I was stuck like this.
I mean, if there were a way to uplift my curse, the moon goddess would have shown it to me by now.
"I'm sorry if my decision makes you feel uneasy. It's just….. you're still my brother Miguel. Everyone would get their mates one day. I really do not wish for you to be an exception. You have done your best in keeping Eclipse pack together and safe. At the least, you deserve to be loved by your own mate."
After the death of the other she-wolves, as a result of my curse, I didn't think I deserved anything, ever.
Not anything good.
I was about to give a response when one of Mistwood pack's guard approached us, interrupting our discussion.
"Greetings Alpha. The Alpha of Mistwood pack awaits your presence." He said, bowing curtly.
I and Caleb exchanged looks and I rolled my eyes.
He signalled for the two guards we had brought from our pack,to come over with all the items he had brought along.
"If I may?' Mistwood pack's guard offered to help our guards with the gift items we had brought along.
One of it included a dress for my bride and would-be-mate.
"Just so you know, I don't consent to this marriage." I said to Caleb before walking ahead with the guards, leaving him behind.
Alpha Smith and his mate; Luna Evelyn received us with open arms.
Apparently, they were as thrilled as Caleb for the marriage.
Had they forgotten about my curse?
Everyone seemed to have suddenly forgotten about it.
Or was there possibly something more to this marriage?
"It's an honor to have you here Alpha King Caleb." Luna Evelyn smiled at us both.
I didn't care so I didn't bother to reciprocate her smile.
Both Alphas conversed about several other things before coming down to the reason for our meeting.
"I believe Miguel already knows about the reason for his needed presence here tonight." Alpha Smith started.
"Very well then." He commented in response to my nod.
"After the Alpha King approached me about his decision to find you a mate, I felt honored. But for a while, I felt it was going to be impossible since no she-wolf seemed perfect enough for you."
Yeah, perfect enough to kill .
" But it's with a joyful heart that I tell you this day, that I have found you a perfect match." Caleb and Luna Evelyn celebrated for a while.
"This is indeed good news Alpha Smith." Caleb signalled for me to show even the faintest excitement but I ignored him.
"And she agreed to be with me?" I asked Alpha Smith.
As soon as I asked that, everyone went silent.
Did I ask the wrong question?
Was this wolf also bring forced like I was?
"I don't see why any she-wolf wouldn't want to be with someone as strong, good looking and wealthy as you." Luna Evelyn spoke this time.
'Because I am cursed!' I wanted to yell loudly at them all but Caleb stepped on me, shutting me up immediately.
"So when would Mistwood pack begin her preparations?" Caleb was quick to change the topic, easing the tension that was already building.
"Tomorrow. Although, I have organised that they both met tomorrow. What do you think about that Miguel?" Alpha Smith asked.
"Yeah, what do you think Miguel?" Caleb asked like he was daring me to ruin the meeting.
"I think it's just perfect." I said with clenched teeth.
If I was indeed meeting with her tomorrow, I had enough time then.
More than enough time to convince her to stop the wedding from happening.
If she didn't know about my curse, I would gladly fill her in with every single detail about it.
Lila "Hello?!" I shouted for the umpteenth time. Mysteriously, I had found myself in a strange place. It was wide and void. I couldn't see anything because of the darkness but I could feel water under my feet. It felt as though I was walking on a river but a very shallow one as I could feel earth
Miguel Caleb had done a lot of unnecessary things just because of my wedding. He had hired an older wolf to educate me about the laws of marriage and what I could do to make my mate happy. Which of course, didn't matter. How could I make someone happy when she was dead? As evening drew nearer,
Lila I stared at him in shock as he satisfactorily enjoyed my surprise. Die?! What?! I hadn't cared about dieing until right now. So he really was cursed and his curse could affect others too. Had it affected his pack? Was that why they had him thrown out? "You're not saying anything else Lil
"You wanted proof, didn't you? Is that enough for you?" He raised his brows as he spoke. He seemed drunk but not in liquor. He was drunk in whatever was making his eyes switch colours like that. "W…..w…. What do you mean?" I stuttered, shaking in fear. Had he been married before and then killed
Miguel I watched as she stormed off, struggling with the big gown. How did she fit in it though? I could remember how tiny she was when I first saw her. Who was she anyway? The fact that Alpha Smith and Luna Evelyn were so willing to give her to death was disturbing. Alpha Smith would always p
Miguel "What?!" I yelled at Caleb. How could he do such a thing to me? "Listen Miguel….." He started explaining but I interrupted him. "Listen to what?!" "How could you fix a date for my wedding without my consent? What the hell is wrong with you?!" Anger rose like fire against my skin as I sta
Definitely, ignoring him was not the best way to stop this wedding. Lazily, I got out of bed to open the door for him. He jumped at the sight of me, completely startled. Did I now look scary too? Ironical how everyone saw me as a monster, except Lila. Wasn't she afraid of me? He came with the
Miguel Bursting through the doors of the pack house, it aimed straight for Lila, like it had been hunting her for a really long time. But before it would lay its paws on her, I defended her. I shifted form with Black who was ready to hurt anyone that dared to come close to Lila. Jumping in front
Lila Two Week After the War "How do you feel?" Miguel asked. I sighed, turning over so that my face was against his chest as I drew invincible circles on his abs, my eyes shut, feeling nothing buy his hard hand on my bare skin. "I feel like it might take eternity before I recover. I lost a lot o
"I'll kill you!" Lila yelled, preparing to use the same dagger with which Matilda had stabbed her mother, to stab her. Just then, she felt Miguel's warm hand on her shoulder. "I think your mother would be more proud if you did this the right way." He said to her. Her hands stopped midway, a tear
Writer's POV Matilda regained her balance and launched at Abigail. "I'll make sure you pay for tricking me!" She screamed, stabbing Abigail right in the back. Lila watched as the dagger went through her mother. Tears filled her eyes as the witch took it out. Blood spilled on the floor. Lila caugh
Soon enough, the Alpha King was nothing more than the witch's puppet. "Kill them all." She repeated and he moved to act just like he had been told to. He took out his claws, swinging it at anyone in his way. "I hope you enjoy this after you've known what you did." She laughed before returning int
Writer's POV "Remember to call for backup when you need to. There'll be warriors around for that." Miguel said to them as he rounded up. "We've lost too many pack members already. No matter what happens, we don't retreat, we do not surrender, not until we have gotten revenge for our dead pack memb
"Can I come in?" He asked, that was when she realized that she had left him standing outside for far too long. "Uhmmm sure, of course." She opened the door and gestured for him to come in. "Were you resting, I'm sorry for interrupting." He turned around and folded his hands behind him. "I could l
Writer's POV Lila and her mother returned to the pack just in time for another meeting. They took their seat, trying to act as normal as they could to avoid suspicions. "Anyone with another plan better than the Luna's?" Miguel asked and the room fell silent. Not even the Alpha King had a better
Writer's POV Lila had suggested that they didn't wait to Matilda to attack instead, they attacked. It was a risky decision but it was the best chance they had at Matilda. She wouldn't expect their attack giving them an advantage over her. "I know that it sounded dangerous but when you thought ab
Writer's POV "Lila?!" Miguel screamed her name as he made his way across the river, past the waterfall. "Lila!" He called her even louder, making his way into the main room. When he eventually got in, he met Lila and her mother hugging each other. He was startled however, seeing the love in Lila
