The cab soon arrived at the dry cleaning or laundry company. Kavinsky got down from the cab and carried his laundry basket along with him. He entered the waiting room and went directly to the receptionist behind the marble cabinet. She was typing something away on her computer when he got there. He knocked twice on the cabinet to gain her attention.
Tthe he receptionist looked up and grinned immediately she saw who it was.
"Kavinsky", she called out with a smile plastered to her face and stood up from her seat.
"Hi, am here to drop some clothes", he said, going straight to the point.
"Oh!", she said sharply, somewhat disappointed.
"But of course, you are in a dry cleaning company, so-", she added immediately and trailed off .
"Yeah, obviously", Kavinsky replied nonchalantly.
"Pass it here, I will make the arrangements quickly", she said beckoning at the laundry basket he was holding.
"Thanks, Janet", he said with a smile.
The cloth was checked and the price for that many clothes was billed to Kavinsky.
"I will come back for the clothes later in the day", Kavinsky said while paying for the clothes.
"That's fine", Janet said and Kavinsky left immediately he had finished making the payment.
He walked back outside and entered the cab that had just dropped someone off at the dry cleaning company. He wasn't going to spend his day, sitting at some dry cleaning company and wait for them to finish making his clothes clean. And he also had no time for a chit chat with some dry cleaning company receptionist.
'No no no, it is definitely not for me', he thought before bringing out his phone.
He spent the little drive checking his w******p messages. He has tons of messages from a particular contact; Vanessa. He massaged his head with his thumb and middle finger when he saw the messages and switched off his phone.
He wasn't ready to face replying to Vanessa's messages as well.
He looked outside the window when he got to the house next to his but the person he had intended to see was already gone. He looked all around the house but saw no traces of her.
"We are here", the cab driver's voice made him realize the cab had come to an halt.
He thanked the man who is in his late forties and got down from the cab.
He walked slowly into the sitting room and walked up the stairs quietly. He soon arrived at his room doorstep and opened the door slowly.
"Honey, is that you?", he heard his mother's voice from the next two rooms and he rushed into his bedroom quickly.

Mrs Mark felt scared when she got no answer. She left the clothes she was neatly folding and stood up from the bed. She looked around her and her eyes fell on the glass vase beside her make up table and dressing mirror.
She walked towards it and carried it carefully.
'I hope it's not what I am thinking', she thought and walked out of her room.
"Hello?", she called out again before walking towards Kavinsky's room.
She turned the doorknob slowly and walked in immediately it was ajar.
She walked further in until she was in the middle of the room before she felt someone's movement at her back. She turned immediately and aimed her vase up at the person, hoping to hit 'their' head.
Kavinsky caught the vase almost before it hit him. Mrs Mark opened her eyes which she had closed before she had wanted to smash the vase on whoever's head it was.
"Seriously mother?", Kavinsky asked before sighing shortly.
"What? I thought it was a burglar trying to burgle our house through your room's window!", she explained.
They both looked towards the window at the same time and saw that it was closed.
"So you brought a glass flower vase?", Kavinsky asked in utmost disbelief
"Yes. I needed to protect myself with something even if truly a burglar was in our home", she said and brought the flower vase down.
"Next time, you should run mother", Kavinsky said while walking towards his study table
"Oh honey, I have always known that you care about me", Mrs Mark said with a soft tone.
"Nope, I said that so you would save me from all these frustration and disturbance. You would not have to come to my room at all if you had run to save your life", Kavinsky said with a smirk.
Mrs Mark raised the vase up to show him that she still had a weapon with her. She gave up with a sigh and walked towards the door. She can't bear to hit him with the case.
"I am not sure if you really are the child I gave birth to", she said sarcastically and closed the door with a loud thud.
Kavinsky laughed a little before bringing out his laptop to search for answers to that projects once again.
He was about to start working when his phone started buzzing. He looked at the caller and took a deep breath before picking up.
"Hey baby", the person on the other end said with a giggle.
"Hi Vanessa", he said massaging his forehead.
"what's wrong? You do not sound too good", Vanessa said with worry laced in her voice.
"I am fine. Why did you call?", Kavinsky asked.
"You have not been calling me and you are not even replying my messages", Vanessa complained with a sad, childish pout on her face as she spoke.
'When have I even ever called you first? You are always calling all the time', Kavinsky thought
"I am really busy right now, Vanessa", Kavinsky said nonchalantly with a sigh.
"Oh, I will call you later then", Vanessa said after a while
"No, let's just talk when we see each other in school tomorrow", Kavinsky said almost immediately.
"Okay then. I can't wait to see you!", Vanessa replied with a high pitched shriek
"Yeah, me too",Kavinsky replied and cut off the call.
He dropped his phone on the right side of his table and heaved another sigh before logging in into the internet.

Kaylee walked into the house back after enjoying the morning breeze. She placed her drawing materials on the couch in the sitting room and walked up the stairs. She passed by her room and went directly towards her father's own.
She heaved a huge sigh before knocking on the door
"Come in", she heard her father say from inside the room and she turned the doorknob.
Her Dad was working on his laptop when she walked in. He turned to look at his back and gave her a dry smile when he saw her. Kaylee sat on the bed and looked down at her fingers before she spoke out.
"I want to talk to you", she said silently and slowly, causing her father to turn his chair to face her in concern
She looked up at his face and he signalled for her to go on.
"I thought about it. You loved mother, there is no way you would want me to forget all about her. I am very sorry for what I said to you, I shouldn't have said all of that and I regret it now. I am sorry", she said as tears started to cloud her eyes.
Mr Blaine stood up from his seat and took another seat beside Kaylee on the bed. He hugged her tightly and let her dirty his shirt with all her snot and tears.
"I would never want you to forget your Mom. Even if I wanted to, there is no way I could do it because she will always be here in all three of us", Mr Blaine said and touched Kaylee's chest with his finger.
"She has become a part of all the things she has ever touched or made", he added and never stopped hugging Kaylee.
They stayed like that for some minutes before Kaylee spoke up again.
"I have decided. I am going to attend that school that you talked about", she said, releasing herself from her father's grip slowly
Her father widened his eyes in amazement and joy.
"It is what mother would have wanted me to do", she added and her father nodded in agreement before sighing.
"I am already applying for a job online as well. I am going to try my very best and take care of you and Laura. I want your mother to be proud of me wherever she is", Mr Blaine said in a low tone and with so much concern in his voice.
The two of them stayed like that for a while before Kaylee left the room. She walked to the room opposite her father's own and knocked on the door.
"Come in!", Laura's high pitched voice could be heard all across the hall.
Kaylee laughed at it and walked into the room
Laura gasped when she saw Kaylee in her room and went to hug her immediately before going back to her bed.
"What was that?", Kaylee teased
"Nothing", Laura replied immediately and Kaylee walked in further
"What are you doing?", Kaylee asked, taking a seat on the bed
"Making decorations for my room, you are free to help if you want to" Laura said nonchalantly but was secretly hoping Kaylee would help her with it.
"Sure, if you insist", Kaylee replied and they both laughed at it.
Soon, they were done with the room and Laura was ogling at it with contentment. She loved the way her room looked now, compared to the plain light blue colour that it had on it before.
"Now, let's do your room!", Laura announced with a huge grin on her face.
"No no no, I don't want glitters and ribbons on my bedroom wall", Kaylee replied immediately, as if she was already waiting for that announcement. She knew Laura too well.
"Do you want to make cookies instead?" Kaylee asked Laura after an awkward silence between the two of them.
"Sure. Dad and I bought a lot of groceries when we went out yesterday", Laura replied with a grin and they walked down the stairs towards the kitchen together!

June 1st, Sunday night Kavinsky finally completed his project after having dinner with his father and mother. His parents had retired to bed early while he stayed a little while more in the living room, playing video games. "I want to sharpen my skills in this new video game 'cause I know I desperately need to before Harry learns about it", he had told his mom when she asked why he wasn't going to bed early. "Alright but go to bed early, you know you have to go to school tomorrow", his mother had said. He had rolled his eyes at the moment as he muttered. "I am not a kid" His mother had heard him and she replied to him while going up the stairs; "I know but you will always remain my kid" Kavinsky went to bed after he had mastered the game and played it for a few rounds. He got up from bed when he remembered the brunette colored hair girl who lived just next door. He couldn't pinpoint the actual deal with this girl but he knew he was attracted to her. He stood up and walked
Vanessa pulled Kavinsky up when she saw that he was not intending to stand up, away from this lowly-looking girl. "She can do it herself", Vanessa said with a shrug and rolled her eyes. Kaylee got up and Stiles asked from beside her if she was okay. "I am fine", she replied before an announcement was made all over the school speakers. "Kaylee Blaine, please report to the principal's office. Kaylee Blaine, please report to the principal's office", the announcement was made twice before it stopped and only the echo from the announcement lingered against the school walls. "Let me accompany you there", Stiles offered calmly "No, it's fine. I can go myself", she said and turned to leave. She soon arrived at the Principal's door and knocked three times on it. "Come in", Mr. Bull, the principal's voice was heard from the other side of the door. Kaylee pressed down the door handle and walked in. She met Mr. Bull sitting behind his table having coffee while he is checking some paper h
"Vanessa Anderson. She comes from an affluent family. Her father is running for the post of commissioner. His campaign stickers are all over town. And also, he donates a lot of money to this school, so-", Anna replied and shrugged "That does not give her the right to act like that in the school", Kaylee protested with a frown. "Everyone knows that Kaylee", Anna told her and continued eating her food "Wait a minute, don't tell me you are planning something against her", Anna said all of a sudden, widening her eyes for emphasis. "Of course not! Why would I?", Kaylee replied and faked a laugh "Okay, cause I would advise you not to. You don't want to get yourself meddled in Vanessa's business. Just keep ignoring her and you would be fine", Anna advised her "I told you I wasn't", Kaylee said sharply 'The students in this school sound dumb', Kaylee thought and continued eating * * * Wednesday afternoon, June 4 At Seattle high school, The bell was rung to notify all students f
Kavinsky ran downstairs and met his Dad alive and well. He checked around for any cut or injury on his body and saw none. He looked only at his father, oblivious to what stood beside his father. All he cared about at that moment was his father. He stood there in anger. He realized he had been tricked but why?? His mother laughed and laughed till her cheeks hurt. "You should have seen the way he ran, honey", she said in between laughs and went to stand beside her husband. "What did you say to him?", Mr. Mark asked. He was curious to know what would make his son run down the stairs like that. "That you got into an accident", Mrs. Mark said and smiled. "An accident? Me?", Mr. Mark asked in shock. "Why would you even think of saying that?", he asked in disappointment. "Uh oh!", Mrs. Mark realized it wasn't a funny matter anymore and her laughter died down. "I was just-", she started but was cut off by Kavinsky's loud voice. She secretly thanked God that Kavinsky had chosen that t
Kaylee could not believe her father had just said that. "Dad?", she called out in disbelief. "It's much faster, honey. I won't have to", Kaylee cut her father short rudely by walking towards Kavinsky's house. Mr. Blaine just heaved a sigh of defeat. "I will be taking my leave now sir", Kavinsky said with a bow and went after Kaylee. Mr. Blaine smiled in the direction of Kaylee and Kavinsky. It felt good to see that his daughter was making friends already. He unlocked the car and entered the driver's seat. Laura too hopped into the passenger seat, beside her father and he drove out of their front porch. Kaylee sat in the front passenger seat waiting for Kavinsky to come in. She was angry at the way her father had traded her away to some guy he just met but she wasn't all that angry. Kavinsky went into the car as well and put in the key to start the engine. "Do you have a driver's license?", Kaylee asked immediately as he put the key into its hole. "Yeah, trust me", Kavinsky repl
The next morning, Kaylee woke up very early to arrive at school quickly. She had a bath and dressed up. After she was done, she picked up her earphone and her phone before carrying her backpack. She arranged all her utensils in her bag the way she could before dumping her phone and earphone in it as well. Kaylee walked down the stairs and looked around the dining room. It was really quiet. Mr. Blaine and Laura have not woken up yet. Kaylee's walked to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. She brought out a nylon of slice bread from the fridge and took some jam too. Kaylee sat in front of the kitchen cabinet. She opened the nylon of slice bread and picked out some of the slices. She put the jam on it as she ate. After eating for a while, Kaylee stood up and poured herself a glass of pineapple juice from the fridge. After eating breakfast, Kaylee stood up and picked up her backpack again before hanging it on her shoulder. She carried the plates to the kitchen and washed the plate s
Kaylee was shocked to see Kavinsky in her home. Kavinsky saw the shocked expression on her face as well and he smirked in achievement. "What are you doing here?", it was time for Kaylee to speak up "Did you forget about that restaurant we said we were going to?", Kavinsky replied with the sweetest smile on his face. He knew it would be weird in front of everyone if he said he had just come to pick up Kaylee without even her consent. Not to talk of the fact that her only parent is a Dad, not even Mom. Mm mm, he would not like to play with fire. Kavinsky had not expected to meet Kaylee's Dad at home. All he planned for was for him to convince Kaylee to go with him to the restaurant, they needed to agree on some things that he thinks they should agree on. "Oh. You should go and dress up quickly then Kaylee", Mr. Blaine said and Kavinsky had a grin on his face. His plan was going smoothly. "Why would I go and dress up?", Kaylee protested with a frown on her face. "You can't stand
Kaylee walked into the house and met Laura sitting on the couch as she wrote down in her notebook. 'Probably her assignment', Kaylee thought as she walked towards the dining table slowly. She was tired from all the bantering she had done that afternoon or evening. Sometimes, Kavinsky would tease her, just to make her angry and she would fall right for his trick and sometimes they would just agree on things and laugh at each other's jokes. Mr. Blaine walked out of the kitchen and saw Kaylee as he placed the dishes on the table. "How was your date?", he asked "It wasn't a date but it was fine", she replied. Mr. Blaine was about to complain about the time she had returned but when he looked up, he held on to his words. She was smiling, the smile was not a fake one, it looked very real. It has been a long since he had seen her smile like that and he did not want to ruin it. "I should take a shower and join you in the kitchen after I am done", she said and he nodded with a smile o
Hey guys, I am really sorry about this. I can't complete this story as I intended to but I would make a summary of it. I am sorry, please bear with me. ... SUMMARY... It has been a week since Kaylee and Kavinsky had stopped talking to each other. Even though they went to school together, things were still pretty weird between them. The next Saturday after Kaylee's game, Stiles visited Kaylee and asked her to go somewhere with him. He told her he had something very important to show and also tell her. Kaylee got into his car when she thought of how they had been friends once but when she found herself unconscious in a junkyard, she understood what had happened. Stiles had helped Vanessa to kidnap her. Kaylee was locked in a wrecked bus and Vanessa lit a fire around her, making Kaylee go into a traumatic state. The memories never stopped cause she was still seeing the fire in front of her. Vanessa, Zoe, and Stiles left her there to face her fears. Zoe called Kavinsky about it
SATURDAY EVENING, Kaylee walked past her father and Laura in the sitting room when she got home. They cheered her up concerning the game and she smiled at them widely as she walked out of the sitting room and up the stairs. She sat on her bed with a sigh and the memories from a few minutes ago played back in her head. She gripped her hair tightly when she remembered how Kavinsky had looked at her. "But we are not dating yet", she groaned before lying on the bed with a frown. 'Or was it just right to kiss him without being official?', she thought again with a frown. She groaned when she could not think straight and walked to the bathroom. She just took a long shower before walking out and dressed up. MONDAY MORNING Kaylee walked towards Kavinsky's front porch as usual and got into the car. He was already waiting there anyways. "Hey", he greeted in his thick, alluring tone and Kaylee turned to look at him. Instead of his usual smiling face, his face just looks dull and stiff.
Kaylee walked into her front porch after she got down from Stiles's car. She was about to open the front door to her house when she saw Kavinsky standing there, beside her house. She jumped at first before holding her hand against her chest and breathing out deeply. "What the heck, Kavinsky?", she asked immediately as she opened her eyes before walking towards him. She noticed the frown on his face when she got in front of him and she moderated her tone a little. "What are you doing here?", she asked but Kavinsky just kept staring at her with that frown stuck on his face. "You were with Stiles?", he suddenly asked and Kaylee rolled her eyes at him. "Yeah, he brought me home", she said nonchalantly. "Wow, how nice of him", Kavinsky replied sarcastically with a roll of his eyes. "So, what's up anyways?", Kaylee changed the matter as she shifted her weight on her legs. "You did not go out with Anna any longer?", Kavinsky finally eased the cold look he had on his face before. "Y
Vanessa groaned as she made her way inside the school. She could not believe she had left her phone on the chair before going to speak with that Bianca girl and Zoe did not even pick it up for her. She walked quickly with a frown and when she got to the basketball court, her legs went slow. The door was slightly open, so Vanessa could see the two young girls sitting on the bench inside, just beside the basketball court where players who did not play had sat. She scoffed and was about to barge in when her eyes glanced at Kaylee again and she realized what was happening. Kaylee was crying. Vanessa was sure she had just seen a tear fall from her eyes right now. Vanessa quickly took a step back and relied on her listening sense only. She could not risk them seeing her and she had to know what was happening. It could be her perfect comeback at Kaylee. But what was wrong? Did Kavinsky dump Kaylee? Did Kavinsky break Kaylee's heart? Oh, that would be great! ... Anna panicked when she
Kavinsky, Anna, Harry, Mr. Blaine, and Laura walked toward Kaylee with smiles and looks of pride on their faces. "Hey look! It's the star of today's game", Harry called out with a grin as they moved closer and Kaylee could not help but laugh. She met them halfway and said with a blush. "Stop teasing me", she said with a helpless pout and Harry chuckled. "You were really good while playing, honey", Mr. Blaine said with so much pride laced in his voice and Kaylee smiled. His daughter was cooking back to life little by little after all. "Thanks, Dad", she said softly, and soon when they had all taken turns teasing and praising Kaylee, Mr. Blaine left the hall with Laura. Kaylee turned back towards the trio and her eyes landed on Kavinsky. He had helped her so much in getting better at basketball. The thought of how he had helped her so much brought tears to her eyes, joyful tears. "Thank you", she said with misty eyes and he shrugged at her words. "Do not mention", he finally sa
Kaylee smiled. She had never been a part of something so huge and sportive. It felt really good. They all moved their hands away at once and the five players walked to the court. They wore a top and free skirt with a mixture of yellow and blue colors. Their opponent from Winston high wore red and blue instead. At the National Basketball Association (NBA), they play basketball in four quarters for 12 minutes each. Both schools have decided to play in only two quarters instead of 12 minutes as well which means in almost thirty minutes, the game would be over. The announcer told both teams to move to the court and they did. The game commenced and the ball was passed to the opponent's team. Seattle high players tried to get the ball from them but failed. One of Winston's high players managed to get to the other side of the court and jumped up, throwing the ball in the hoop and they got three points instantly. They gave themselves high fives and the game continued. They tried pass
He went to the kitchen and sipped water. The house had never been so empty and lonely to him before. He knew his mother had to go to school and his father, to the hospital but seriously, this was how the house was? He walked up the stairs and immediately crashed on the bed when he arrived in his room. He was heartbroken. He controlled himself and fought the urge not to go to that window right now just to look at her. He remembered her basketball game tomorrow and he looked around for his bag. He remembers not bringing out of the car which was still outside but who cares? All he needed was his phone. He grabbed his hair when he realized his phone was in his front right pocket. 'Seriously Kaylee, what have you done to me?' He thought as he pulled out his phone from his pocket and dialed her number. The phone rang and she picked up on the third dial. "Hello?", her smooth voice echoed continuously in his ear. Kaylee could not believe he was calling her when he was just next do
"It wasn't a mistake, Kaylee", he said closing his eyes for a while before opening them back, and Kaylee's eyes which were already on his lingered for a long while. He loved Vanessa, didn't he? So, why is he saying this now? Well, there is only one answer to that if truly he had kissed her on purpose. He never loved Vanessa. It was all a big old facade; he and Vanessa's relationship. Well, had he not said so to her before? She looked at him and he stared right back. She realized she had not answered him and when she was about to talk, he beat her to it. "I like you Kaylee and I always will", he said and her eyes went wide. She panicked internally. What? Does he like her? Since when exactly? "I liked you since the moment I saw you and you had hit that door on my face", he started with a small smile on his face as the memories of that day replayed in his head. " And that time when you walked into the class in your black leather pants and black jacket and black boot. You emitted
Anna and Harry got down from the car as usual and took the next bus home. Kaylee placed her head on the car backrest with a sigh and Kavinsky took a glance at her in concern. She shut her eyes for a while and a few minutes later when she opened it, she got both confused and surprised. "Where are we going to? This is not the way home!", she said in a panicking voice as she turned her head to look at Kavinsky. Don't judge Kaylee, she was afraid. I mean, have you watched horror movies? Yesterday, he kissed her, and well, she didn't treat him so well. Then, he comes to school today and acts as if nothing had changed between them. Kaylee was thinking about a lot of things in her head right now. "Hey", Kavinsky called out to her and she turned to face him again. "We are just going to a restaurant in town, that's all", he said and Kaylee wasn't taking that as an explanation. "Why exactly are we going to this restaurant?", she asked squinting her eyes at him as if she was interrogati
