Two

Brandon frowned when he saw Candice talking to a nerd guy. He wanted to laugh at them but he restrained himself. It is so unprofessional of him if he will do it in the presence of his employees. So he disregard what he saw and continued heading to his private office.

His eyes form into thin line when he saw the guy massage Candice's shoulders. Something seemed to rise up inside of him. His blood suddenly boiled at what he saw. But then, he realized that all his employees knew nothing about their relationship. He sighed and leaned back to his swivel chair.

He dialled her phone. His eyes didn't leave the cctv monitor from his private office. He saw everything Candice did in her desk. The way she smiled sweetly to that nerd. He then saw her pick up the telephone.

" Harrison Construction, how may I help you? " He heard her sweet and soft voice from the other line.

" Come to my office, now !" He said angrily. He clenched his fist.

" O-Okay. " He saw her bit her lower lip. She looked tense. He sneered. Let's see if how are you going to handle this situation?

He was looking for a perfect time to break up with her. And maybe this is the right time to do it.

After awhile he heard a knock outside his door. He smirk. Let's see, huh!

" Come in. " He tried to put a serious tone in his voice. The door opened. Candice walk towards his direction.

She was about to approach him but he stopped her in the middle.

" Sit there, woman! " He raised his voice to her while pointing the chair in front of his table. She followed quietly what he said. Though she wanted to be near with him but he didn't want to, so she stayed at her seat.

" Is something wrong, babe? How are you feeling now? " She asked him worriedly. She thought that maybe he was just tired so she tried to understand his sarcasm. His eyebrows arched.

" Are you flirting with that nerd guy? " He asked her. That was not the right words he wanted to say to her but it just came out of his mouth without realizing what will be the consequence.

Her eyes twinkled. She had no idea what Brandon up to.

" Donald is just my friend, babe. My shoulders stiffened a while ago that's why he offered to massage me. " She smiled to him sweetly. Her cute dimples appeared on her cheeks. That was her asset.

Eventhough she dressed and looked like a nerd, her cuteness showed when she smiles.

For a moment he was stunned, seeing her smiling innocently at him. Something seemed snap in his chest.

Brandon just looked at her, as if he was captivated for a moment, he forgot the reason why he called her here in his office.

She sigh. " I think you're still sick, babe. Why don't you go home and rest? " She suggested softly. She reached for his palm on the table and gently stoke it with her delicate fingers.

" I can see that you're still not okay, babe. You want me to bring you home? I can drive --." She suggested again but cut off by him.

" Stop! " He pulled his hand from her. She had no idea that Brandon was angry with her. He pointed his forefinger to her.

" I don't like you dictating me, woman ! You have no right telling me what I will do to myself. Have you forgotten that you are just my employee? " He said it between gritted teeth. Her eyes widened and her lips parted. She looked at him with pain in her eyes. Shocked was written all over her face.

" B-babe. " She stuttered . She didn't know what to say to him. This is the first time she saw him explode like this and that is so unlikely of him. He was very sweet with her all the time they were together.

Wait !

Was he jealous of Donald ? He shouldn't be because she and Donald are just good friends since day one of her stay in Harrison Construction.

" I-I'm so sorry, babe. I did'nt mean to interfere. I-I'm just so worried of you. I, I--".

" I said stop! " He cut her off again while looking sharply at her. Her tears began to roll down from her doe brown eyes wetting her natural pinkish cheeks. She was literally hurt by his harsh words.

" W-What's wrong, babe? I- I don't understand." She said while wiping the tears from her eyes. She stood up from her chair and met his gaze. The angry look on him did'nt even change, causing her to feel scared with Brandon.

" I did'nt want this relationship anymore! " It was like a bomb exploded in front of her when he said it. Automatically, her tears flowed like a waterfall in her eyes. She quickly approached him and held Brandon's hands.

" Please, don't do this, babe. I can't accept this, I love you so much that it breaks my heart hearing you said that." Then she quickly hugged him tight. Brandon was surprised with her action, he was shocked when she reached for his lips to give him a kiss. Though she did'nt have the experince, she managed to gave him a peck on his parted lips.

Candice closed her eyes as she deepened the kiss only to be surprised by Brandon pushing her away from him.

" You bitch! How dare you !" He shouted at her. He looked menacing to her eyes.

Shocked and can't beleive what just happened. Slowly, she stepped back , covered her mouth with her hands. Her tears suddenly stopped. He never once hurt her, just now. And she could not accept it. She felt she was not important to him anymore.

She thought that there must be something that made him mad at her. But she couldn't think of a reason why he resorted to this.

" You have no right to kiss me, nerd! " Now, he showed his true color to the stunned Candice. She didn't expected it. Did he just ignore what they shared ?

Cruel ! Her mind spoke. Her admiration for him disappeared like a bubble.

" When I said we're over, we are OVER! So, don't try to seduce me co'z it's not working. FYI, you are not beautiful. " Her eyes widened of surprised and her lips parted. She couldn't believe what he was saying.

" B-Babe. " She tried to call him but stopped when she saw him proudly smirked at her. It's only now she realized that she shouldn't have believed in his flowery words when he was courting her. Because it was all a lie. Everything was a lie. And she was a willing victim.

Her tears gushing from her eyes again. Her heart was broken and aching. Candice didn't know how to handle the situation. She didn't do anything that could make Brandon angry with her.

Things happened so fast that she wasn't even prepared for this. She couldn't talk and react. She just heard him sending her away.

" Get out! I don't want you here and I don't want to see your face ever again! " He gestured his hand to his door. She was forced to obey him so she headed to the door. But before she go out, she turned around and face the only man she ever loved. With tearful eyes she promise to him.

" I-I promise to stay out of you and you will never ever see me again in your lifetime. If our paths accidentally cross, I'll pretend that I didn't know you, that we are just strangers passing by each other . " After she told him that, she turned to leave him... forever.

Crying, she went to her desk to put away her belongings. So, this is goodbye. She will leave this place with a wounded heart. If only she could turn back the time, she will not argue with Brandon. But the damage has been done.

She dried her tears. The time that Donald notice her.

" Hey! What happened in there? " He worriedly came to Candice. She just shake her head and didn't bother to answer him. Donald took her by the hand.

" Are you alright, Candice? " He asked.

" I-I'm leaving, Donald. I just came her to fetch my things. " She answered him sadly.

" But why? What did the boss told you inside? " His voice grow louder.

" N-Nothing, my parents want me to go back to the province. So here I am, leaving this beautiful place and my only friend. " She took a deep breath trying to control her emotions.

" Thank you Donald for always there for me when I needed help. I will never ever forget you. " She hug him and cried on his shoulder.

" I'll never forget you also, my friend. " A tear escape from his eyes and dried it. " Thank you too. Don't forget to call me always. " He continued and laugh to ease the situation.

She nodded.

" Yeah, we're just a phone call away from each other. I'll definitely call you, Donald. " She agreed.

Then they loosened their embrace. Donald sweetly wiped her tears.

" Take care of yourself Cands. "

" Thanks. "

He walked her to the parking lot. When they got there, he hug her again for the last time. After that she get in to her car and wave her hand to say goodbye to Donald.

" Call me! " He gestured using her a phone sign to his ear.

" I will! " She answered through him with a thumbs up. One last time she looked around the beautiful place. Her comfort zoon for the last two years.
