Dahlia.

“You two, knock it off. She’s off-limits.” Atlas growls.

My brows twitch at his words. I try to push down the anger building inside me.

He’s my brother AND the future alpha. Mom told me not to get on his bad side, but what the hell?

Deep inside, I felt disappointed. They were all I had fantasized about in high school. Why does Atlas have to ruin it all for me? And since when did he get to decide who I could and couldn’t date?

I seal my lips shut anyway for the entire drive. In the end, I regretted not bringing my jacket. I wasn’t feeling it anymore.

Atlas tried getting me into their little conversation but I just plastered on a fake smile and laughed if necessary. He had me sit on the passenger seat while the guys jumped on the back. Then I realized… Isn’t this their car? Why the hell is Atlas driving it and not one of them? Unless…

No. My brother couldn’t be that petty to ask them if he could drive just so…

Damn it. He did, didn’t he?

The moment I get out of the car, I see Lola waving at me. Seeing her face made me smile. Enough to calm me down. She smiles back. Her sandy blonde hair framed her small face, bouncing on her breasts as she walked towards us. Her slightly tanned complexion made her eyes pop.

Lola is petite, but don’t let that fool you. It’s like they always say; looks can be deceiving.

“Atlas.”

“Lola.”

Atlas sticks out his chest, staring down at Lola. He towered over her, but Lola didn’t care. She glares up at him.

“Did you finish it?”

Atlas furrows his brows, looking confused. Lola narrows her eyes.

“You didn’t do it.”

Oh boy, here we go again.

“I knew it. I knew I couldn’t trust you to write a part in the essay. So useless!” she hissed.

Holy shit. She did not just say that.

“What did you say?” Atlas glowers over her, and she scoffs. She takes a step forward, challenging him.

I resist the urge to run a hand down my face as I stood between them. Seriously, every time I’m around them I feel like a kid stuck in between.

“Want me to say it twice? Fine. YOU ARE SOOOOOO USELESS!” she screams loud and clear for everyone to hear. They all stopped what they were doing and watched. Hades and Valerian stood perched on their flashy brand-new Hummer. Equally amused. I groan. They have seen Lola and my brother bicker back and forth with each other, and they still get entertainment from this? Nope. Not me, I am out.

I look at my brother, but his intense eyes are locked onto Lola’s.

“I’ll, uh, head inside first.”

I’m not sure if they heard me, but I guess they are too busy with their usual squabbling to even notice.

I walk past them, about to head inside when a deep, raspy voice sounded in my ears.

“Dahlia.” My eyes widen. I could feel his breath in my ear, making me jump. My body spins 180 degrees before my head hit a damn wall.

“Ow,” I whine and massage my forehead, opening my eyes to see it wasn’t a damn wall, but a chest. The rumors are right. His body is hard as f—how is that even possible?

Valerian smirks at me. What did he want?

“You forgot your bag.” He grins, handing my bag to me. I take it, looking down. How did I even leave it there, I do not know.

“Thank you.” I say and turn around, ready to walk away.

I had barely made two steps forward when Hades’ voice reached my ears. “And Dahlia.”

I stop in my tracks.

He chuckles, “Don’t forget to check your bag before class.”

Without another word, I nod my head and take off to class.

What was that all about?
