ISABELLA'S POV

The drive home was unbearable. The weight of Nicholas’ silence pressed against me, heavier than the oxygen mask I’d been forced to wear hours ago. Nicholas hadn’t said a thing since the doctor had temporarily discharged me, his hands gripping the steering wheel so tightly I thought it might snap.

I could feel his frustration radiating off him but I refused to acknowledge it.

I stared out the window, counting the streetlights passing by, hoping that if I ignored him long enough, he’d drop it. But Nicholas wasn’t the type to let things slide, and I knew it was only a matter of time before the confrontation came.

When we pulled up to the house, he was out of the car before I could even unbuckle my seatbelt. I didn’t get far before he was at my side, lifting me out with a gentleness that contradicted the storm brewing behind his eyes.

“You don’t need to—”

“Don’t argue with me, Isabella,” he snapped.

I clamped my mouth shut, my exhaustion winning over my desire to protest.

I’m not sure I understand why Isabella is shutting him out. He obviously loves her. Why can’t she see that?

ISABELLA'S POV I clenched my fists at my sides. I couldn’t let Nicholas see how much his confession had rattled me. His words echoed in my chest, threatening to tear me apart, but I forced myself to look away, avoiding the intensity in his eyes. “I don’t feel the same,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I don't love you, Nicholas" The lie tasted bitter on my tongue, but I swallowed it down. Nicholas didn’t respond at first. His silence was more unbearable than his anger and when I finally dared to glance at him, his expression was raw, disbelief written all over his face. “You don’t mean that. Isabella, I know you. You’re lying.”“I’m not,” I said sharply, the crack in my voice betraying me. “It’s the truth, Nicholas. Whatever you think we shared, it wasn’t real.”"It was nothing but a fling. A passing moment. Attraction, maybe. But that’s all it ever was"Nicholas’s hand trembled slightly as he lifted my chin, forcing my gaze to meet his. His eyes burned with a storm of e

  • CONVENIENT VOWS WITH THE BILLIONAIRE    STEPPING DOWN FROM THE EMPIRE

The tension in the Montgomery Empire's boardroom was strong. The inheritance board sat in their polished leather chairs, each exuding authority. With them sat Victor.“For weeks now, we’ve seen a disturbing pattern,” Victor began, clasping his hands together as though he were making a benevolent appeal. “Nicholas Montgomery has been distracted. His focus is no longer on this empire. Instead, it’s... elsewhere. On personal matters.” He let the last words linger in the air.Victor’s sharp eyes scanned the room, noting the hesitant nods from a few board members. Encouraged, he pressed on “Take his wife’s condition, for example. I sympathize—truly, I do. But let’s not forget that Nicholas is a man who has built his reputation on being ruthless, unyielding, and always in control. And yet, where is that man now? The same man who couldn’t even protect the only family he has left—his wife. If he cannot keep her safe, how can we trust him to safeguard this empire?”Murmurs broke out among the

The rest of the board fell silent.“Now, if there are no further insults to my wife, we can move on.”No one dared to respond.Nicholas leaned back in his chair, his gaze sweeping the room as silence stretched. Finally, he spoke.“I want to make one thing very clear. This is not me walking away. I am stepping down temporarily. If the lot of you think this empire is so fragile that my absence will lead to its ruin, then perhaps you should appoint someone else to manage things in the interim.”His gaze flickered toward Victor, whose jaw tightened.“I trust the Empire will endure,” Nicholas continued, “because I have ensured its foundation is unshakable. But right now, my wife needs me more than any of you do.”The room was still. Several board members exchanged uneasy glances.Victor sat stiffly, his fingers curling into fists beneath the table. • CONVENIENT VOWS WITH THE BILLIONAIRE    I'LL NEVER STOP FIGHTING FOR YOU

ISABELLA'S POV I didn’t bother knocking. The doors to Nicholas’s study swung open with a loud bang, the sound reverberating through the room. My chest heaved as I stood there, staring at him. He was bent over his desk, surrounded by an endless pile of papers and folders. He glanced up, his piercing eyes immediately softening when they landed on me. That look—calm, steady, and far too understanding—only made the fire in my chest burn hotter.“Sunshine,” he called gently “What’s wrong?”“What’s wrong?” I repeated, my voice rising “You tell me, Nicholas. Why don’t you start with the part where you gave up everything for me?”His brows furrowed, but he didn’t answer right away. Instead, he closed the folder he’d been working on and leaned back in his chair, watching me carefully. That patience only added fuel to my anger.“You stepped down, Nicholas! From Montgomery Empire! Your family’s legacy. Your life’s work! And for what?” My voice cracked, tears of frustration threatening to spill o

  • CONVENIENT VOWS WITH THE BILLIONAIRE    THE GREATEST PUNISHMENT

CHRISTABELLA'S POV The muffled murmur of reporters outside filtered through the thick walls of the courtroom, blending with the quiet rustle of papers and whispered exchanges inside. Everyone was here for one reason—Isabella Sterling’s case against Daniel. And though I wasn’t exactly rooting for her, I couldn’t deny the pit forming in my stomach.I shifted in my seat, trying not to think too much about how far I’d fallen. And yet, here I was, watching Isabella of all people stand at the center of the courtroom with her head held high. Her lawyer stood up confidently, as he presented the next round of evidence. My gaze flicked to Daniel. He sat stiff in his chair, trying to look unbothered, but I knew better. His jaw tightened, his fingers clenching against the armrests. He’d always hated being cornered. Then it came—the bombshells.Financial documents, neatly bound and stamped, exposed how Daniel had siphoned money not just from their shared ventures but even from Isabella’s law firm

DANIEL'S POV I shoved the heavy doors of Victor Montgomery’s office open without hesitation, fury burning in my chest. The sharp crack of the doors echoed through the grand room, but the man behind the desk didn’t flinch. Victor, calm as ever, leaned back in his leather chair, his piercing eyes meeting mine with disinterest. The sight of his composure only stoked my anger. I stormed toward him, my fists clenched at my sides. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I snapped "We had an agreement, Montgomery! You said you’d help me get everything Isabella stole from me—everything that’s mine! We agreed you’d make her and Nicholas pay for humiliating me! And yet, here we are. Third hearing in, and she’s still winning. The last hearing is in two weeks, Victor. Two weeks! With all the evidence she has, the court is going to rule in her favor!"Victor raised a brow, unimpressed by my outburst.I slammed my hands on the edge of his desk, leaning forward until I was towering over him. “Why haven’t

ISABELLA'S POV The air in the courtroom was stale as the judge flipped through the last pages of the case file. Every shuffle of paper felt like the ticking of a bomb.I clasped my hands tightly in my lap, my fingers trembling despite my effort to appear composed. On the outside, I looked steady, every bit the woman who had fought tirelessly to reclaim her life. But inside? Inside, I was a mess. A storm of fear and hope clashed violently in my chest, making it hard to breathe. I’d done everything to fight for the truth, to prove what Daniel had done to me. But the system wasn’t always fair. Justice wasn’t always served. What if this was one of those times?I stole a glance at Daniel. The sight of him made my stomach churn. He wasn’t sweating or fidgeting like I’d imagined he would. No, he was—too calm. His arms were crossed over his chest, a smug smirk stretched across his lips. He leaned back in his chair, looking more like a man at a business meeting than one whose life hung in

  • CONVENIENT VOWS WITH THE BILLIONAIRE    IT'S TOO LATE

ISABELLA'S POV As the courtroom emptied, I lingered in my seat, letting the silence wrap around me. Everyone else had gone except for Nicholas, my lawyer, and Christabella, who stood off to the side with an unreadable expression. I closed my eyes, drawing in a deep, trembling breath. For the first time in years, I felt a measure of freedom. The chains Daniel had wrapped around me were gone, yet this wasn’t a happy ending. It was far from it.My thoughts drifted to what would come next. The assets I had fought so hard to reclaim—they weren’t mine to keep. I’d already made the decision to give everything to charity, to let the money do something meaningful. The law firm, however, was different. That, I couldn’t let go of so easily.I had it signed over to Nicholas. It was selfish, I knew that. After pushing him away, I had no right to cling to him in this way. Yet, a part of me couldn’t help but want him to have it. When I was gone, I wanted him to have something to remember me by, eve

The soft rays of the morning sun filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a golden glow across the room. I stretched lazily in bed, savoring the warmth of the covers and the smell of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air. Somewhere down the hallway, faint bursts of laughter echoed—a sound that filled my heart in ways I could never fully explain.“Mommy!” a sweet, high-pitched voice broke through the tranquility.I turned just in time to see a small blur of auburn curls barreling toward me. My daughter, Chloe, climbed onto the bed with a delighted giggle, her hazel eyes sparkling with mischief. “Mommy, Daddy’s being silly again!”Hot on her heels was her twin brother, Caleb. He shared her curls but had Nicholas’s sharp, gray eyes—the kind that seemed to see through everything. He scrambled up beside her, his grin so wide it threatened to split his face. “Mommy, Daddy said we could have pancakes with chocolate chips today!”My heart swelled as I pulled them both into my arms
