CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN

Alexia’s POV

The drive home was fun, I don’t know how to explain it but it felt like a weight had been lifted after Ethan told me nothing happened between him and Melinda. I know I’m not meant to care about whatever he does with his life but the truth is I would rather he sleeps with an entire football field than Melinda. Call me petty but that is just how it is.

After that whole hitch was settled, I genuinely felt lighter, like maybe this whole marriage arrangement with Ethan wouldn’t be so bad after all I started to feel genuinely happy about being married to him and I am starting to have faith that these three years will work out just fine.

We get home and as soon as we try to go upstairs a voice booms “where on earth have you two been?” we turn around at the same time to see his mother standing crossed armed looking like she is about to devour both of us.

“We just needed some time away mother” Ethan replies, I don’t think I have the confidence to say anything after the way I left
