A Kid Like Him

I spent the entire night waiting for Vivienne to message me, but she never did. It kept me up, tossing and turning, my mind racing with thoughts and questions.

Why didn't she message me? Was she okay? Did something happen? Did Jeremy actually take her home or did they eat first?

By morning, I was exhausted and still had no answers. If Alex didn’t call me, I wouldn’t be distracted from my thoughts.

“Kiel, are you up?” Alex asked me as soon as I answered her call. Her voice was tinged with urgency. “Something came up, and I can’t get to my niece’s dance class. Could you please pick her up for me?”

Reluctantly, I agreed, figuring it would be a good distraction from my restless night. “Alright. I’ll handle it.”

“Thank you so much,” she replied, relief evident in her voice. “Her class ends in half an hour. I’ll text you the address.”

After hanging up, I got ready and headed to the dance studio. The drive over was a welcome diversion from thinking about Vivienne and Jeremy.
