BRENT’S POV

Getting the kids to sleep last night was a strenuous task, especially after I offered to do it since I wanted Priscilla to rest early for the day but little did I know what I was signing up for.

If it wasn't a “How did you build this big house?”, it was a “How much money do you have?”, “Can you talk to our friends so they'll know we have a rich daddy?”, “Can we go to the park tomorrow?”

At one point, I almost harbored the thought of waking Priscilla to get them asleep but watching her beautiful face and the serenity on it, I couldn't bring myself to do it. I was finally able to get them to sleep after hours of trying.

The next morning when I woke up, I got hear the sound of water rushing in the bathroom. I looked around in confusion because I couldn't remember on time that I had my family over until I saw the footwears in the room.

“This feels so good!” I muttered, rolling to the other side of the bed.

My phone started ringing almost immediately and I groaned, knowing

PRISCILLA’S POV“What's going on Priscilla? What is the problem?” He asked for the umpteenth time, shaking me violently as he did. I tried to respond but I couldn't. The only thing in my head was the image of Pamela moaning his name and getting on top of him, the scene I'd walked on six years ago when he called me a liar and a cheat and the one I walked in on in his office. They all seemed to be playing in my head at the same time. As he tried to touch me, the only thing I could think of was him touching other women, especially Pamela. I felt like the scenes were playing in my head all at the same time. Few minutes later, I was finally able to get it out of my head and let out a deep sigh. “What was that? Are you okay?” Brent asked as soon he saw that I wasn't hyperventilating anymore. “I…I don't know, I think we should just keep things on a low for now. None of this intimacy stuff.” I said and he stared at me as though I was running out of my mind. “What? Talk to me, what's goi

BRENT’S POVAfter Priscilla returned from shopping with the kids last night, her mood had for some reason become sour. She barely talked to me or the kids, even. All she did was put the minor things they bought away and when I tried to ask what was wrong, she brushed me off with her signature response. “I'm fine, there's no problem.” “You know you have to talk to me when you get issues like this, I can't help you if you keep staying silent.” I'd said after sneaking up to her in the kitchen but she was still giving me a cold shoulder. I'd thought it was just me who did something to upset her but she was going all out on the kids too. She snapped at them at every slight inconvenience, leaving them teary or surprised. “Priscilla, you can't keep yelling at the kids because you're upset, just tell me what's going on, I'm sure we can find a way around it.” I told her after we'd managed to put the kids to bed. “It's fine, I'm just tired, I need to rest.” She withdrew her hands from min

BRENT’S POV“Okay, that's weird.” I said after Evelyn got her hold off me. She laughed gaiky at my words and it felt like I was really seeing her for the first time. “You look so happy.” I said to her as she held my hands in. “I know, it's been a while since I've had fun like this with all the people I love under a roof. Thanks for making me take the break and for coming too. Your presence means a lot to me.” She turned and hugged me again. I almost cringed at how much she was hugging me but I didn't want to make things awkward for her. I'd never seen her look so happy and judging by the way she was interacting with the people outside, it was safe to say this was the most fun she'd had in a while. “I must force her to take breaks at intervals now.” I thought to myself as we got in. “Oh, my wife asked me to give this to you as your birthday gift. You know I'm bad at shopping for women so she helped me pick out a gift for you.” I said, handing her the box I came with. Her face wa

PRISCILLA’S POVWatching Brent leave the house gave me sort of relief. It felt like I was finally able to breathe properly. He's been staring at me, watching every of my movements and acting like I'm a fragile glass, trying to hold and touch me at every slight inconvenience. The way he won't take his eyes off me, even while we were with the kids, made me feel uneasy for a bit. I wanted to assure him that I was fine and didn't need to be watched over like a kid but I couldn't shake Pamela's last words off either. They sounded like a threat and after the fire incident, I've slowly thought myself to be wary of threats, especially as they could put my kids in danger. “Mummy, can we have ice cream before going to bed?” As usual, Aiden was trying out his luck with me again but he got a smile instead. “No, Aiden. You have school tomorrow, okay? You can't take ice cream tonight.” I told him and he stuck to watching the television instead. An hour after Brent left, I got a message notific

PRISCILLA’S POV“How bad is it?” She asked after I'd managed to stop crying. I sniffed my tears again. “She'd let me walk in on him cheating with another woman, which anyone can tell was meant to break my heart.” I told her and she sighed. “It still doesn't look too bad to me. Maybe she's putting up all that attitude because she's just a bit jealous of you, it'll definitely pass away after a while. Don't let it ruin the beautiful relationship you're building with him.” She urged and I nodded. I mean, that was the least I could do. Deep down it felt like no one was taking me seriously. Brent laughed at me when I said and called me delusional, now my best friend thinks I'm taking it too far, how else would I have gotten them to believe that as a woman I can tell that Evelyn wants my husband? It hurt really bad that I had to bear the burden alone but what else could I do? “Pris, you're distracted which means there's more to this story. What is it?” She asked and I decided to open up

BRENT’S POV“Ughhh, what the hell?” I groaned at the first ray of light that hit my face. I tried to open my eyes but the sunlight shining brightly into my face sent me cowering almost immediately. That split second made it feel like I was losing my eyesight. However, there was more to come. My head started banging almost immediately. It felt like I was in the midst of a chainsaw and was getting my head ripped apart. “Where am I?” I muttered because my head and mind felt cloudy and foggy, I couldn't actually remember anything, neither could I look around because the slightest pain would send my headache off. I held my head tightly because any single attempt to let go made it feel like I would lose my head. The ache in my head increased with every second, while my eyes burned crazily and my stomach churned loudly. “What the heck is going on with me?” I asked myself but didn't get the chance to answer that because the next thing I could mutter was a loud retching sound. Thankfully

BRENT’S POV “Wait!” I said before she could walk away. She stopped but did not turn to look at me. I sighed, frustrated by her words and actions. “Could you at least look at me?” I could feel my ego crumbling but there's nothing I wouldn't do to keep her happy. “I believe you can say whatever you need to say this way, Brent. Let's not drag this out.” She said, making it clear that she wasn't abiding by my biddings. Since it seemed as though I was wrong, I couldn't protest her choice so I gulped the humiliation down my throat. “I'm sorry, okay?” I said, throwing my hands in the air. “I'm sorry but I still don't think I drank too much at the party and even if I did, I'm not a novice, I know how to compose myself and control my actions. There's no way I would've acted out in front of the kids.” I explained and she turned sharply to me with a dark look in her eyes and slowly, a mocking smile broke out on her face. “Control? I don't think you're one to speak about contro

My heels clicked on the floor and I could hear my footsteps echoing. I was about to take out my phone from my bag when I heard the voice I dreaded most. “Can't you walk a bit more quietly?” I heard her voice behind me and froze. It was dark in the lair so I couldn't see her but I had her face engraved in my mind so I could tell she had an irritated frown on her face and the distance with which she'd stopped, made me sense that she was closely behind me. My breath paused for few seconds in anticipation for her next words and for some reason, the darkness I complained about just few minutes ago was now a blessing. “I…uhm, I didn't know you were there.” I managed to stutter but I heard her scoff instead before shoving me out if the way, almost hauling me into a pile of abandoned items. I winced in pain but didn't make a sound, I heard her footstep

BRENT’S POVThe minute she bolted for the guest bathroom, I knew I'd caught her red handed. She didn't seem to have suspected that I was aware but I was well informed about all of her plans. It took a while for me to accept that she could do such but I wasn't going to let my woman get hurt due to my assistant's psychotic behavior. “I need everything ready.” I said to the intercom before leaving the room. I headed to my security room to watch the spy camera installed in my room. Seeing how frantic she'd been while trying to get rid of the camera she installed in my room, I guessed that would keep her hooked for the time being while I got the rest of her punishment prepared. I was yet to decide what I would do to her but torture was definitely top on my list. No one messes with me and gets away with it. She rushed back into my room and started calling out for me. When she saw that I wasn't in, she proceeded to start viciously attacking the camera like I'd predicted. My hands clen

EVELYN’S POV “This is the last time I'll be saying it. You either take her or kill her. I don't care what you have to do, take her or kill her.” I instructed my men before leaving home. Something told me to do this, just in case things try to go out of proportion. “What are we to do when we take her, ma’am?” One of the men asked. “What else? Kill her, of course. Do you think I care if she lives? The goal is to have her dead and out of my way, so you'd better do your job well.” I said and dismissed them. “Where are you going in such a frenzy? Are you okay?” Ruby asked as I threw on some clothes. My heart was in pure panic but I couldn't let that reflect on my face. “I had to be at Brent's. There's something I can't let him find.” I responded, grabbing my car keys. I sped out of the house in my car with my hands trembling on the steering wheels. “You've got this, Eve. You've got it.” I muttered to myself. The minute I pulled up to Brent's house, I rushed in without parking p

PRISCILLA’S POVNo! No! No! This can't be! No!” I exclaimed in shock whilst staring at the pictures on my phone. When I opened the message at first, I thought it was a random mistake from a stranger but I found the video and my heart crumbled. Tears were already gushing out of my eyes while I held my hand over my mouth to prevent my cries from making it out. His face had pleasure all over it as she bounced on his throbbing member. “How could he do this to me?” I thought, still in shock. I recalled it to have happened on the night of Evelyn's party, which means he saw her at the party and hid it from me. More tears rushed out of my eyes as I skimmed through the pictures of the pregnancy test kits. It had blue lines, meaning she was pregnant with his baby. “How could you do this to me?” I cried silently and broke down to the floor. My body shook violently with tears. My vision was clouded by the tears rushing out of my eyes but I couldn't stop myself from staring at the pictures

PAMELA’S POVAfter the call with Brent, I felt heat rising up in every part of my body despite the air conditioning in the room. I paced around the room as worry and fear filled up my chest. I tried severally to reach Evelyn but her phone was surprisingly off. “Oh goodness, don't tell me I'm in this mess alone. What should I do?” I groaned loudly. I sat on the bed with my head in my hand while tears hung at the brim of my eyes. His words echoed in my head again and each time, it gave me the thought that he had found out the truth. “I can't lose like this.” I muttered knowing I was either alone at this point or dead if Brent found me. I rushed to my door and locked it tight, in fear that one of Brent's men could burst in through the door and kill me. “Calm down, Pamela. You have to think this through.” I whispered to myself again. I was losing my mind so everything felt strange to me, like I was in the middle of a burning maze with no escape route. I tried calling Evelyn again

PRISCILLA’S POVThat was strange.” I muttered and returned to working but I couldn't get the thoughts off my mind. His words felt like a soothing balm over my wounds, I smiled a little, letting myself fall for him all over again. “What's making you smile so hard?” Claire's voice appeared from the kitchen. I turned and found her smiling as well. Her hair was ruffled and she had eye bags heavy enough to hold water. She clearly eiffored a boatload of jet lag.Claire gave me a surprise yesterday by coming into New York without informing me. I had no idea that all these while she'd been claiming to be busy, she was putting things in place for her arrival in New York. “Is it who I think it is?” She asked with a bigger teasing smile. “Girl, please, I'm just trying to cook.” I refuted, despite smiling hard. “The smile on your face is saying an entirely different thing. Did he make you smile again? Or are you just obsessed with thinking about him?” She asked and I laughed. “It's either

BRENT’S POVI got terrible news from my private investigator and I've been struggling to accept it. I woke up with a heart as heavy as gym equipment. I struggled to believe that someone I'd trusted with my entire life would stab me in the back in such a dangerous manner. The morning was dark and gloomy for me because I just couldn't bring myself to accept the truth. “Are you sure about your research? Will you take some more time to confirm it?” I said. I wanted to avoid the truth by all means if it was inevitable. “No, sir. I've been trailing this person for a while now, I'm very certain it's the truth. There's actually a lot more to be uncovered but this is just to give you basic knowledge of what has been happening right under your nose.” He'd responded. How? Why? When? Several questions bugged my mind at the same time but there was none I could provide answers to. I picked my phone to call Priscilla and reveal the truth to her. I wanted to tell her about Pamela's pregnancy be

EVELYN’S POVAh! You must be wondering why I finally got to show my point of view. It might be a little late to explain how much I matter in the equation of things here but I'll try as much to make a recap. First, from killing Jack. That bastard always tried to make himself seem smarter than he really was. He was constantly trying to prove his intelligence and tried to make himself superior over the course of our partnership but he wasn't as smart or sleek as he thought. I'd always known that he was bound to betray me or at least try to. It was obvious when he started making more attempts to reach me and get in on one of my plans with Pamela. One night, he offered to pay me to get him Priscilla but that was not part of our agreement and ever since then, I've never missed the glint of hatred in his eyes whenever he looked at me. I saw the raw, brazen desire to get rid of me and I figured he couldn't take me out personally so he was bound to pull something stupid. I'd cloned Pamel

PAMELA’S POVI won't lie, since this whole pregnancy thing started, I'd never felt as terrified as I was when Brent threatened to make me disappear without trace. Heck, I knew what he was capable of and if he was still hesitating to get my ass picked up and thrown away, it meant that I had some influence over him. Or Evelyn did. Anyways, I took the easy way out by saying something dramatic before ending the call. I immediately called Evelyn. “I think Brent is getting suspicious of my words. He threatened to have me killed just now.” I let out to her with a sense of fear hanging over my head. My heart was beating so fast and I could almost hear myself breathing. “First, you need to stay calm and stop fretting. He doesn't suspect, he's either crashing out or trying to bait you and make you confess. You need to stand your ground. I'll suggest to him tomorrow to get a test done, then you can put your mind to rest after that.” She assured me with a soothing voice. “I guess that coul
