PRISCILLA'S POV

It's been a whole day since Brent's argument about the party came up and I've done everything I could to avoid getting into another argument with him.

He's been trying to speak to me and make it seem like there's nothing awkward between us but in between handling the kids and getting to work I've barely had time to notice him.

He's been in the room, playing with the kids while I used a fraction of his office to draw some of our designs.

As I added final touches to one of the designs, I felt myself taken back to the fashion show that led to one of my biggest moments in the fashion industry.

I knew how terrible that could've gone if Brent hadn't helped out and thinking about it, I must say he's changed a lot now compared to then when he only did things because of the kids and as a means to stay in touch with them but now, I could feel and sense the intentionality in his actions towards me. I sighed, dropping the pen after adding the lady touch.

“Maybe I should give him a

PRISCILLA’S POV“Flowers for me? Who would send that?” I asked in confusion, standing up to join Brent at the door. Truly, there was a delivery man with a bouquet of tulips in his hand and a big beautiful box as well. I stared at the gift and flower in confusion before glancing at him. “Who asked for this to be sent?” I asked him and he shrugged. “I have no idea, my job is to get the package delivered.” He said and I took the bouquet and gift from him in confusion. “Are you sure you want to take that?” Brent asked and I didn't miss the hostility in the way he spoke. “Yes, of course, would you have me send it back to the delivery company?” I responded, signing the papers the delivery man presented me with. “Thank you.” I muttered after signing and the delivery man left, leaving me to wonder who the mysterious person must be. “I think you could've just done that. Send it back to the delivery company, I'll have it paid for to be sent back to the owner, whoever it is.” He said and

BRENT’S POVThat prick! I should've known he won't back away from her after he pulled that antic at the hospital. I huffed, leaving Priscilla behind in the kitchen. I could feel the words she wanted to say, seeping through me but I ignored her. For once, it felt like I truly had competition for her. The way her eyes lit up at the sight of the flowers and diamond jewelry, made me realize how much I didn't know her and if I wanted to be with her, I had to prove that I know her, before other men can. I got to the room and found the kids asleep in each other's arms on the bed. I bent to look at their faces and my heart swelled with pride. The serenity and innocence on their faces was second to none and I wasn't about to lose that to another man. I pulled out my phone and dialed Evelyn's number. “Good afternoon, sir.” Her voice came on immediately. “Let's cut to the chase, Evelyn. I need the home phone number of Sylvester, yes, our competitor. I need his home address as well.” I dishe

SYLVESTER’S POV“Who was that?” Damien asked, puffing the smoke from his cigarette. He turned easily in the chair, spreading the smoke everywhere but I didn't mind. I had something more important to deal with and someone was obnoxiously in my way. “Are you going to spill who it is or just sit there like an old Japanese master? That would look terrible on you, by the way.” He said sarcastically and I sighed. “I wonder how your wife and kids put up with you. You're such a mouthful.” I responded, standing up from my seat. I walked to the window and back to my seat. There was a lot eating me up terribly and the past few days have been nothing but mind wrecking. “Is this why you invited me over? To just sit and listen to your footsteps? Man, I don't have all the time in the world and shouldn't you be busy as well? What's with the whole pacing and silence?” He complained with a groan whilst still smoking. I snorted. “First, you don't have an actual job and you're only lucky to live of

PRISCILLA’S POVUgh! The nerve of this man to think he owns me. I was so surprised when Sylvester sent me a text with a voice recording of his call with Brent. To say I was shocked would be the least of statements, I didn't understand why Brent felt the urge to call Sylvester and threaten him to stay away from me. “I'm so sorry about this. It won't happen again.” I texted Sylvester back after a while of just scrolling through my phone aimlessly. Not only was I fed up with the antics he had thrown, I was nervous about dealing with Sylvester again after the hospital drama. The last thing I wanted was for us to be in the same space at the same time. “You know you can't stay mad at me all day. Besides, I apologized already, just let it go.” Brent stood beside me in the kitchen with a bottle of water but I chose to ignore his words. “It was just a call, nothing more. What did he say to you?” He was more than determined to get in my hair but the last thing I wanted was to get into a fi

BRENT’S POV“Priscilla, I'm so sorry about my mother. I don't know what came over her, she's been acting differently. Please.” I pleaded desperately. Seeing my mother pounce on her was the toughest thing for me, the two women I love getting into a scuffle was something I'd never imagined to happen. But what was more shocking was the fact that my mother, the highly revered Mrs Kingston, would stoop so low to pounce on the mother of her grandkids. I wanted to believe that she heard something totally horrible or disgusting about Priscilla but regardless of whatever she heard, what could've been her excuse for breaking into my home and fighting my woman. Priscilla ignored me, shoving more of hers and the kids' clothes to her bag. With every movement she made she released a deep sigh and it broke my heart to watch her do so. I stood by the dressing table, watching get ignore me and act as though my presence was a mere flicker in the room. “Hear me out, please. I know you wanted to lea

PAMELA’S POVIt's another day back at the lair and honestly, I've grown to like the place. The strong smell of smoke and mist combined, the dark hue filling the pace as soon as the doors are closed, the presence of my partners, this has evolved from being a mere task to a goal. Jack was smoking heavily as usual while Evelyn stood by the window, making calls to the hospital. In accordance with the suggestion I gave, we've decided to go ahead with the pregnancy stunt. I had a prosthetic pregnancy bump gotten for different stages in my supposed pregnancy. “Do you really think he'll believe that fake thing? Anyone can tell it's fake just by looking at it from afar?” Jack glared at the prosthetic before glancing at me. I smirked, feeling prideful in his pain. “Anyone would believe it because it's prosthetic, it's made to look real. Just because you know what it is, doesn't mean others would.” I responded, caressing one of the prosthetics. He hissed loudly, puffing the smoke of his cig

BRENT’S POVThe next morning came faster than I expected. The bright rays of sun shone through the window blind, resting on the faces of my kids. I took a minute to admire their faces again and for once I could see the resemblance between them and Priscilla. Aiden had her bone and face structure while Avery had her tiny, little freckles and smile. I sighed, feeling confused, battered and in disarray. After Priscilla left the room last night, she didn't come outside, not even to the kitchen and I know because I waited under the disguise of getting water. Walking across the room she was in, I had the irresistible urge to knock and speak to her but I understood that she needed her space. After a while of brooding, I decided to retire to bed when I got a call from Pamela. The only reason I had her number saved on my face was because I hadn't had time to delete it. I hesitated the first and second time but she seemed persistent so I changed my mind about it. “I'm pregnant with your b

PRISCILLA’S POV“Yes, definitely. My assistant and I would be there in a couple of weeks to collect the fabrics and inspect for others as well. Yes…thank you.” I dropped the call and sighed. It's been hours since the kids and I returned from Brent's place and I buried myself in work ever since. When we got home, I was surprised to see how much work had been put in to make the house look exactly just like it was before. I had no idea how he got a picture of the entire house but everything was just the same, just like it had been before the fire and with improvement. Almost everything in the house now had a fire safety guide, including the kids bathroom. I smiled deeply after taking a tour of the house, my heart ached deeply to call him and express my gratitude but I pushed it aside knowing it might give way to other topics. The kids, however, did not share my sentiment about the house. They both have refused to speak to me on our way home and in the house, I tried talking to the

BRENT’S POVThe minute she bolted for the guest bathroom, I knew I'd caught her red handed. She didn't seem to have suspected that I was aware but I was well informed about all of her plans. It took a while for me to accept that she could do such but I wasn't going to let my woman get hurt due to my assistant's psychotic behavior. “I need everything ready.” I said to the intercom before leaving the room. I headed to my security room to watch the spy camera installed in my room. Seeing how frantic she'd been while trying to get rid of the camera she installed in my room, I guessed that would keep her hooked for the time being while I got the rest of her punishment prepared. I was yet to decide what I would do to her but torture was definitely top on my list. No one messes with me and gets away with it. She rushed back into my room and started calling out for me. When she saw that I wasn't in, she proceeded to start viciously attacking the camera like I'd predicted. My hands clen

EVELYN’S POV “This is the last time I'll be saying it. You either take her or kill her. I don't care what you have to do, take her or kill her.” I instructed my men before leaving home. Something told me to do this, just in case things try to go out of proportion. “What are we to do when we take her, ma’am?” One of the men asked. “What else? Kill her, of course. Do you think I care if she lives? The goal is to have her dead and out of my way, so you'd better do your job well.” I said and dismissed them. “Where are you going in such a frenzy? Are you okay?” Ruby asked as I threw on some clothes. My heart was in pure panic but I couldn't let that reflect on my face. “I had to be at Brent's. There's something I can't let him find.” I responded, grabbing my car keys. I sped out of the house in my car with my hands trembling on the steering wheels. “You've got this, Eve. You've got it.” I muttered to myself. The minute I pulled up to Brent's house, I rushed in without parking p

PRISCILLA’S POVNo! No! No! This can't be! No!” I exclaimed in shock whilst staring at the pictures on my phone. When I opened the message at first, I thought it was a random mistake from a stranger but I found the video and my heart crumbled. Tears were already gushing out of my eyes while I held my hand over my mouth to prevent my cries from making it out. His face had pleasure all over it as she bounced on his throbbing member. “How could he do this to me?” I thought, still in shock. I recalled it to have happened on the night of Evelyn's party, which means he saw her at the party and hid it from me. More tears rushed out of my eyes as I skimmed through the pictures of the pregnancy test kits. It had blue lines, meaning she was pregnant with his baby. “How could you do this to me?” I cried silently and broke down to the floor. My body shook violently with tears. My vision was clouded by the tears rushing out of my eyes but I couldn't stop myself from staring at the pictures

PAMELA’S POVAfter the call with Brent, I felt heat rising up in every part of my body despite the air conditioning in the room. I paced around the room as worry and fear filled up my chest. I tried severally to reach Evelyn but her phone was surprisingly off. “Oh goodness, don't tell me I'm in this mess alone. What should I do?” I groaned loudly. I sat on the bed with my head in my hand while tears hung at the brim of my eyes. His words echoed in my head again and each time, it gave me the thought that he had found out the truth. “I can't lose like this.” I muttered knowing I was either alone at this point or dead if Brent found me. I rushed to my door and locked it tight, in fear that one of Brent's men could burst in through the door and kill me. “Calm down, Pamela. You have to think this through.” I whispered to myself again. I was losing my mind so everything felt strange to me, like I was in the middle of a burning maze with no escape route. I tried calling Evelyn again

PRISCILLA’S POVThat was strange.” I muttered and returned to working but I couldn't get the thoughts off my mind. His words felt like a soothing balm over my wounds, I smiled a little, letting myself fall for him all over again. “What's making you smile so hard?” Claire's voice appeared from the kitchen. I turned and found her smiling as well. Her hair was ruffled and she had eye bags heavy enough to hold water. She clearly eiffored a boatload of jet lag.Claire gave me a surprise yesterday by coming into New York without informing me. I had no idea that all these while she'd been claiming to be busy, she was putting things in place for her arrival in New York. “Is it who I think it is?” She asked with a bigger teasing smile. “Girl, please, I'm just trying to cook.” I refuted, despite smiling hard. “The smile on your face is saying an entirely different thing. Did he make you smile again? Or are you just obsessed with thinking about him?” She asked and I laughed. “It's either

BRENT’S POVI got terrible news from my private investigator and I've been struggling to accept it. I woke up with a heart as heavy as gym equipment. I struggled to believe that someone I'd trusted with my entire life would stab me in the back in such a dangerous manner. The morning was dark and gloomy for me because I just couldn't bring myself to accept the truth. “Are you sure about your research? Will you take some more time to confirm it?” I said. I wanted to avoid the truth by all means if it was inevitable. “No, sir. I've been trailing this person for a while now, I'm very certain it's the truth. There's actually a lot more to be uncovered but this is just to give you basic knowledge of what has been happening right under your nose.” He'd responded. How? Why? When? Several questions bugged my mind at the same time but there was none I could provide answers to. I picked my phone to call Priscilla and reveal the truth to her. I wanted to tell her about Pamela's pregnancy be

EVELYN’S POVAh! You must be wondering why I finally got to show my point of view. It might be a little late to explain how much I matter in the equation of things here but I'll try as much to make a recap. First, from killing Jack. That bastard always tried to make himself seem smarter than he really was. He was constantly trying to prove his intelligence and tried to make himself superior over the course of our partnership but he wasn't as smart or sleek as he thought. I'd always known that he was bound to betray me or at least try to. It was obvious when he started making more attempts to reach me and get in on one of my plans with Pamela. One night, he offered to pay me to get him Priscilla but that was not part of our agreement and ever since then, I've never missed the glint of hatred in his eyes whenever he looked at me. I saw the raw, brazen desire to get rid of me and I figured he couldn't take me out personally so he was bound to pull something stupid. I'd cloned Pamel

PAMELA’S POVI won't lie, since this whole pregnancy thing started, I'd never felt as terrified as I was when Brent threatened to make me disappear without trace. Heck, I knew what he was capable of and if he was still hesitating to get my ass picked up and thrown away, it meant that I had some influence over him. Or Evelyn did. Anyways, I took the easy way out by saying something dramatic before ending the call. I immediately called Evelyn. “I think Brent is getting suspicious of my words. He threatened to have me killed just now.” I let out to her with a sense of fear hanging over my head. My heart was beating so fast and I could almost hear myself breathing. “First, you need to stay calm and stop fretting. He doesn't suspect, he's either crashing out or trying to bait you and make you confess. You need to stand your ground. I'll suggest to him tomorrow to get a test done, then you can put your mind to rest after that.” She assured me with a soothing voice. “I guess that coul
