Maxwell walked out of the bedroom indifferently and headed downstairs, his footsteps steady but heavy. As he heard the crying behind him and thought about Flora's desperate attempts to defend herself, he felt a twinge of pain.

However, he didn't feel a hint of regret. Once the idea of locking her in the room took root, it was hard to get rid of it, and he had never considered getting rid of it. This was how he should deal with a woman like her!
