Chapter-6 Pay with himself

In the main building of Lu corporation, the top floor that belonged to Lu Jingzhe the CEO of the Corporation was in a mess.

People were running from here to there to complete their tasks before the scheduled deadline.

Deadlines to complete the work in Lu corporations were always tight, however, they were paid more than enough for their hard work, and thus, no one ever complained. This was nothing new to them.

But, what irked the atmosphere was the scary aura of the devil boss itself.

They were on their wit's end of thinking of ways for what had caused this sudden thunderstorm in the company.

Inside the CEO's office or devil's den, two subordinates were standing feeling scared to death.

"What is taking him soo long to complete the task and reach here? Wasn't it a mere short meeting with the client?" Devil asked.

Lu Jingzhe was leaning against the sofa, relaxing, after the tiring meeting of two hours. Though he was trying his best to relax, he was feeling anything but relaxed right now.

"He will be here anytime soon sir." One of the subordinates said.

Who was boss kidding? Just a meeting with the client? Yeah, it's true. But isn't the meeting in the most undeveloped area of this city. Even the roads around there are so bumpy that one can expect back pain every time he travels there.

"What about the information that I had asked you guys to search? Who is she? Have you figured it out yet or not?" Devil asked again while closing his eyes.

"That... we are afraid that only secretary Han knows about it." That subordinate said again.

They were silently cursing secretary Han inside their minds for putting them in such a situation. They had clearly asked him if they could go in his place, but the latter swiftly denied, saying it's a really important deal.

It was not until later did they came to know about the truth.

The truth was that the lady's information was really hard to find and was taking a lot more time than needed, and thus, to get himself more time, he had deliberately taken the project to the village, leaving them as a pawn in front of the hungry lion.

As both of them were busy thinking of how they had been tricked by a particular cunning secretary, they failed to notice the slight smile that appeared on the face of the devil momentarily.

Remembering how the girl had patted his shoulder daringly, with her soft hands, Jingzhe couldn't help but feel happy if a woman like her could stay with him for his entire life. He didn't know why but he was having the constant feeling that he has seen the girl somewhere even before the airport incident but couldn't pinpoint where exactly.

For him, it was love at first sight. 

This was not the first time he had seen the lady though.

She was on the same plane as him. Earlier he was angry at his secretary for not arranging the private jet ahead of time, but seeing how his journey went gazing at the beauty he couldn't help but smile.

He could still remember...

He was standing in the queue for boarding the plane. He happened to hear an old man quarreling with the security guards that his son had booked the ticket for the business class, then why his seat had been changed to economic class. 

It was true maybe. Lots of people use their power and influence wrongly to get things done their way. Similarly, in this case, also someone might have exchanged the tickets with him before confirming. 

Not thinking much into things, as it was only a few hours ride where he will be sleeping or working anyways, he politely offered him his own seat and took the economic seat ticket. 

When he reached there the first thing he saw was how crowded the economic class was compared to business class. 

He made his way towards his seat and coincidently that lady was sitting just parallel to him.

Even without the stylish clothes and branded things he could tell that the lady belonged to a noble or high-class family. The way she talked, carried herself, her sitting posture, everything screamed elegance.

However, what lured him most was her cold emotionless eyes. He wanted to know the deep secrets the lady was hiding and take the pain away for her.

It was an impulse of possessiveness he had felt towards the lady.

Even though he liked the beauty, he could not help but still curse the economic class because of the way those air hostesses and girls around him were reacting.

She was the kind of beauty that no one can forget easily. At the airport, as soon as they landed, it felt like the girl was just a mystery vanishing into thin air. 

It was not until later when he saw her jumping around happily, did he felt assured that it wasn't his illusion.

At that time also, he had deliberately bumped into her for getting some chance to introduce himself or maybe know her name. 

But none of that happened. Her cool attitude destroyed every hope of ' get to know each other ', that he had planned.

Not only that but the way she rushed and jumped in the arms of that other guy he felt like all his hopes had crumpled. 

But he was still determined to know more about that lady. Maybe he can use some of his influence to scare that man away from her.

With this in mind, he had asked his secretary to collect all the information he could about that lady.

Thinking about his secretary who was yet to appear in front of him, he opened his eyes impatiently.

What he didn't expect was to see his secretary standing soo close to him.

"What the hell are you doing?" The devil said as he stood up startled.

"I thought I saw you smile. So I was just inspecting from up close whether it was real or not." Secretary said nonchalantly. 

Having been working for him for more than 6 years he had already established the brother kind of bond with his boss. He was actually a friend of his from school times and had gladly and willingly followed him wherever went. 

Thinking that his friend who had been accompanying him for soo long will be the best candidate for the position of being his secretary, Jingzhe wanted to propose the idea of him being secretary, but what he didn't know was that his friend was already eyeing that position for very long.

"You! What had taken you soo long?" Jingzhe said as he went and sat at his own chair behind the table.

"You know the reasons. Haven't you heard about the bumpy roads in that village? I am already feeling the start of upcoming back pain." secretary Han said as if annoyed.

"Hmm...Is the information ready?" Jingzhe asked, trying to look as ignorant as he could.

"You don't care about me at all. I am wounded. Mmm...Yes and No." Secretary Han said dramatically.

"What do you mean by that?" He asked confused.

"It means that I have found out maximum information I could collect about her life, from birth to 16 years of age. 5 years ago she had gone to Canada to study and it feels like she had become nonexistent for these 5 years. There is no news regarding her or what she did, where she went in these years, apart from the fact that she studied at a prestigious university there." Secretary Han said, himself feeling that something wasn't right with this lady.

"There can be only two reasons for this. Either she has been hiding in that country and had gone just in the name of studies or that someone else had deliberately removed her information. It can be both too." Jingzhe said as he was finding this lady more and more appealing as the time passed.

"There's one more thing. From the photo of her when she was 16 years old, I think she was the one." Han said smiling.

"Are you sure about that?" Jingzhe said, with a tint of excitement in his eyes.

"Hmm...very much." 

"Let's go then!" Jingzhe said as he picked his custom-made mobile and coat.

"To where?" Han said confused. As long as he remembered, there was no important meeting scheduled for today which the boss himself has to attend.

"It's time to pay my savior with me," Jingzhe said before exiting the office.

The secretary and other two subordinates that were his personal bodyguards stopped in their tracks when they heard what their boss had muttered. What was the meaning of this sentence? are they missing something, or is there something that they didn't know off?

They looked at each other to confirm that they had heard correctly and were not being delusional. 

Before anyone could say anything they heard the voice of the boss again.

"If you don't come out then I am going by myself. Don't come nagging at me later asking who your future lady boss will be."  Jingzhe said, clarifying himself more than needed.

Since it was the lunch hours of the company, no one was outside of the office, and thus, no one other than the bodyguards and secretary heard it.

'Was boss really going to meet lady boss?' 

'Who is the lucky one?'

Were the thoughts that were passing through everyone's head.

Qingxi sneezed twice while eating her favorite noodles and couldn't help but curse the person.

"Geez. Who is cursing me at this time?" She thought out aloud before resuming her eating.

After a few hours of going through different job portals for a part-time job, she was feeling extremely tired. She had sent her portfolio for the acting career to almost all the agencies available within 50km parameters today and was thinking of sending it to the remaining ones tomorrow.

She looked at the home page of High Spirits. High Spirits was owned by the Gao family, and the current actress they were nurturing was none other than her sister Luo Xialing.

She decided not to send her portfolio to this company, otherwise, it will make things more peachy for her. 

She then clicked on the page of Star High which was owned by the second young master of Lu's family. Star High was the only company at this time that was ahead of High Spirits. 

'If she'll be able to get into this company then the chances of her becoming a good model soon will be doubled.' She thought before sighing loudly.

She had always thought that mental work is more tiring than physical work and true to her assumptions, her whole body was aching because of sitting constantly.

As she had decided to call it for a day of job hunting, the doorbell of her apartment rang twice.

"Who could be here at this time?" Not thinking much into things she went to open the door.

What she didn't know was that this person on the other side of the door will be turning her life upside down. And can change all of her dreams and goals just by a flicker of his fingers.
