Darkness

Eric couldn't sleep. He did everything he could think of, he took a hot bath, indulged himself, sat in Raymond's library and looked through his books. He couldn't read, but there were some books with pictures in them. He walked around the house and rummaged through the snacks in the fridge. He had finished his gulab jamun and even now, his fingers and the corners of his mouth were still sticky. He still couldn't sleep.

Where is Raymond, he wondered? His heart began to speed up at the thought of the elderly man. What if he doesn't come back? What if something happened to you? Eric's stomach hurt. He was never alone before. There was always someone near him, if it wasn't for the boys then Narweh, if it wasn't for the guy, maybe a regular customer.
