Hearing a low-pitched voice that spoiled the ears, Mia suddenly shuddered. Her hearing wasn't wrong at all. The young man holding her hand was indeed named Liam.

"What is it, Miss? Is there something wrong with my name?” the personal assistant asked while raising an eyebrow. His charm successfully snapped the girl in front of him back to her senses.

“Sorry,” Mia sighed as she lowered her hand and stepped back a little. With stiff lips adorned with a grimace, she made up an excuse. "Your name sounds familiar."

With a small nod, Liam flashed a wider smile. The man seemed to hide something behind the mysterious twinkle in his eyes.

Not wanting to be hypnotized anymore, Mia immediately moved her palm towards the door. However, before she could speak, another voice had already interrupted.

"Uncle Howard? Why are you here? Gosh, I should be the one approaching you. Now I feel a little bit cheeky,” Julian chimed in as he approached with arms outstret

"Like siblings?" Mia asked, testing."Yes. In the past, whenever Julian had a fight with Max, he always ran off to Mr. Carter's house. There, we spent a lot of time together. But, since Julian's heartbreak and fled to another city, we never saw each other again. Our relationship was broken, until finally, you sent a cooperation proposal to our email,” Liam explained as he circled the table and ended up in front of the secretary. After tilting his head and warming his gaze, the man flashed the best smile. "Thank you for making today's meeting happen, Miss."Unknowingly, Mia gulped. Liam's gaze was too intense for her.“Why are you thanking me, Sir? I am only in charge of submitting proposal. The idea came from Mister Julian. So, you should be thanking him, not me,” the girl said, blinking the other way."As for Julian, I should ask for his apology. He's already put Mr. Carter and me in a memory he wanted to throw away. Just because

After a moment of silence, Julian raised his voice again. "She is my lover."In an instant, Mia's heart was beating fast. She didn't expect that the CEO would admit her status in front of Liam. However, before the girl had time to think of a response to show, the man beside her had already snorted."Do you think I believe it? A woman as sweet as Miss Sanders could not possibly fall for a man as emotional as you. She definitely wants a man who can treat her gently and lovingly.”Hearing the ridicule, the CEO's ears suddenly heated up.“How dare you underestimate me,” Julian grumbled before looking straight at the secretary. “Mia, quickly tell this man about our relationship. He really needs an explanation.”Unexpectedly, the girl's hands clenched. The image of Julian with Katniss had clouded her senses. Forcing a smile, she turned to Liam.“Please ignore Mr. Evans' words. “What's wrong, Miss Sanders? Why are you standing here?” Liam whispered, making the secretary take a quick breath and lift her head. While blinking, the girl looked for an excuse."I ..." Mia sighed as she waited for the brain to send an idea. Right at that moment, the girl's eyes fell on the tray she was carrying. "I forget whether this tea has been given sugar or not," she continued, nodding. After replaying the memory for a while, the man who was also holding the tray said, “Yes, you have. I saw you put a spoon in it.""Are you sure?" Mia asked, pretending to be stupid. She needed to buy some time for the sadness to sink from her eyes."Yeah," Liam said before sending a signal over the line of sight. "Let's go in. The CEOs must have been waiting.”“Yes,” the girl replied before gulping. Strengthening her grip, she walked towards the table between the sofas. As soon as he saw Mia enter with Liam,

“Mia, may I borrow Julian for a moment?” Katniss asked between gasps. She completely ignored the expression on the face that was avoiding her. "What's the matter, Katniss?" the man inquired with furrowed brows. Without waiting for the secretary's reply, the uninvited guest grabbed Julian's arm to follow her. “Wait a minute, Katniss. You can't just drag me around like this," the man protested, trying to escape the model's grip. "I have a serious talk with Mia." "But this is more urgent, Julian," Katniss whispered as she placed the CEO's thumb on the sensor. As soon as the door opened, the two of them instantly disappeared from Mia's sight. In an instant, the tears flowed even more profusely. "Isn't that pretty obvious? What else would you like to talk about, Sir?” the secretary sighed, full of emphasis. A second later, the girl staggered towards her desk. After taking a deep breath, she sat down and wiped away the sadness.

"Hello? Mia? Are you okay?" Minnie asked because there was no sound. "Mom, I'll call you later. I have urgent work to do now," the secretary said, suppressing the trembling of her voice as best she could. "Mia—" Without waiting for the continuation of her mother's words, the girl hung up the phone. While rubbing her burning neck, she put the phone in her bag. "I can not take it anymore. I really can't." A second later, Mia left her desk, walking towards the elevator. The girl didn't care if there was still unfinished work. She didn't want to meet the man who had broken her heart. In the narrow room, the secretary hid behind the eyelids that felt very hot. The tears kept pushing out. As much as possible, Mia locked them in pain. “Stop crying! Aren't you embarrassed if other employees see your messy face?” the girl thought to herself. But unfortunately, the heart did not want to compromise. It continued to struggle, beati

After signing the affidavit and sealing it, Julian handed Katniss the piece of paper. "Are you sure this is enough to refute the wrong news about us?" the man asked with brows drawn in concern. "At least, we don't just sit back and let people think the news is true," Katniss said while putting the paper in the folder containing her statement. After nodding, Julian tilted his head and narrowed his eyes. “Will these rumors affect your reputation?” Without thinking, the woman chuckled. "Of course it matters, but I'm becoming more and more famous." “Then, after the affidavit is expanded, will you receive any bad repercussions?” "No. People will even praise me for being kind enough to help you out in between my very busy schedule,” Katniss replied as she put the folder into her big bag and got up from the chair. "Enough. Instead of worrying about my career, you better think about your lover. Before she hears from someone else, you have to t

"I'm sorry, Julian. Sorry," Herbert said as he bowed deeper. “I want to give the best for my sons. But ... everything I do always ends in fatal mistakes,” the man sighed, sounding like an afterthought. With blood already reaching the crown, Julian wanted to vent the anger. His forefinger was itching, about to blame his father, while his lips twitched, almost spitting out regret. However, before the CEO exploded with emotion, the image of Mia flashed back into his mind. Instantly, the man remembered that he had promised to be a man the girl could rely on. Looking up, Julian took a deep breath. Gradually, the burning feeling in the chest subsided. Fingers that were originally clenched tightly, began to stretch. A second later, his hands rose and landed lightly on both of his father's arms. "Mia!" Julian called at the door of his lover's apartment. He had made loud noise several times. However, the girl who always filled his mind was nowhere to be seen. “Mia, please open the door! We have to talk!” Two seconds, three seconds, the atmosphere remains silent. Only Julian's roar shook the air. Not wanting to despair, the man banged on the door again. Right at that moment, his senses tapped. He just remembered with the bell that could be used near the door. Wasting no time, the man pressed the button as much as his heart screamed the girl's name. “Mia, we really need to talk. "Whoa!" Cayden sighed as his father placed him on the back of a pony. With round eyes, he surveyed his height from the ground. Even though it was not much, the toddler in the cowboy hat still showed a happy smile. “How is it, Little Evans? Are you happy?” the woman who held the horse's rein asked. Not daring to move much, Cayden nodded at a limited angle. "Yes, Greta. I am happy. It's thrilling!” he answered enthusiastically. “Thrilling?” Gabriella muttered, furrowing an eyebrow. While continuing to rock her niece, the woman expressed astonishment. “Where did you learn that word, Little Prince?” "Daddy often mentions it," the toddler replied, successfully making his father wince. "Daddy said that the nights spent with Mom were always thrilling." As Gabriella glared at her husband, Greta burst out laughing. "Gosh, Max. I think you should be more careful now. Your genius son can absorb all the words you speak.” "Right. I'll be more caref

"If you kept avoiding me, I would really quit the company," Julian said, successfully freezing Mr. Hunt's steps. The old man was then blinking, digesting the words he thought he heard wrong. “Actually, my position as a CEO is being threatened for some reasons. I tried to keep it a secret from all of you. I didn't even let Mia know. But as it turned out, it wasn't easy at all. My mind became adrift. And because the burden was too heavy, my emotions finally exploded. I'm so sorry it had to happen in front of you." Hearing the tone that seemed honest, Mr. Hunt slowly turned his focus. Two seconds later, he saw the tears slide from the grandson's eyes. "I've tried to be strong and tough, Grandpa. I thought I could solve all problems. But it turns out, I haven’t found any solution yet. That's why I was angry when I failed to find Grace and you at the cemetery. It got me think that I am a useless man," Julian explained with the gloomy eyes landed on the grass.

“Tsk, why does Grandpa run away like this? It just makes me feel even guiltier,” Julian grumbled between gasping breaths. Holding on to Mr. Hunt's message, he walked down the tree-lined path. “What should I do if Grandpa isn't there? Where should I look for him?” the man thought as he couldn't erase the wrinkles from his face. The burden in his heart was too heavy to ignore. After a few moments of struggling with the noise in his brain, Julian finally shook his head and blinked strongly. "No, no. Grandpa must be there. I'll take him home and things will automatically return to the way they were before," the man nodded, fostering hope. Ignoring the anxiety that kept swirling in his mind, he went faster. Unfortunately, as soon as Julian passed the cemetery gates, his steps were frozen. His jaw was dropping while his eyelids were lifted to the maximum. What he had hoped for quickly turned into disappointment. "No way! This is impossible!” he curs

"Dad," Cayden called quietly. A second later, the toddler handed Max a piece of bread that had been cleaned of jam. "I'm already full," he continued with a meaningful smile.Understanding the son's intentions, Max spontaneously raised an eyebrow. After a faint exhalation, the father began to vibrate the air with laughter."Gaby, look at what Little Prince did! I can get fat if he keeps handing me food,” the man said while showing the second bread he received from his son.“Just eat it, Max. You need more energy to help the Little Prince take care of Hasty,” the woman who was cleaning the dishes with a sponge replied.Hearing his mother's response, Cayden's eyes immediately widened. This matter can be discussed amicably.”While gritting his teeth, Julian shook his head. Confusion had returned to cover his eyes. “What should I do now? I already made Grandpa sad.""Apologize?" Mia answered with a grimace."Is that enough?" the man asked doubtfully. He began to realize that his anger had indeed crossed the line.Pondering, the woman nodded. “As long as it's sincere, Grandpa will definitely forgive you. “Greta, have you prepared delicious toast for us?” Cayden asked as the hostess opened the door wider to welcome him. Seeing her father was still able to walk, the woman with high arch of the brows spontaneously sighed in relief. After shaking her head for a moment, she turned her gaze to the toddler who was still holding Mr. Hunt's hand and waiting for her response. "Of course I have. There is also strawberry jam for you. "Sorry, Julian. I took Grace to see your grandmother for a while. Now, I intend to take her home. We're not wandering around or straying like you said," Mister Hunt explained with an indescribable expression. Even so, his hoarse voice was able to touch the hearts of the listeners, apart from his grandson. "But the way home is over there, Grandpa!" Julian snapped, still with eyebrows raised to the max. The young man didn't feel sorry at all for the hunched back that was getting weighed down by guilt. "I really can’t understand what’s on your mind. Don't you realize that your recklessness can lead to trouble? Didn't we agree to go together? Why did you secretly take Grace away?” he continued, thickening the wrinkles on his grandfather's forehead. Sensing her father's anger, Little Princess began to furrow her brows. Arriving at the cemetery, Julian was taken aback. What he saw was completely beyond expectation. There were no old man and baby among the tombstones. The grandfather and Grace left absolutely no trace. "This is impossible," Julian muttered as he quickened his pace. Neglecting his initial attempt to remain calm, the man sped toward the direction Greta had given. After searching for a while, he finally found the grandmother's name on one of the stones. “Right, this is the place. They should be here," Julian sighed, sounding desperate. With deep furrows, he circled around, trying to find any trace of either his daughter or Grandpa Hunt. Unfortunately, as far as the eye could see, the two remained off the radar. Confusion instantly grew bigger in Julian’s mind. "Tsk, how could it be like this?" he grumbled while clutching his head. Knowing that irritation, Mia gently touched her husband's arm. Carefully, Mr. Hunt wiped his great-granddaughter's cheek. Grace's red eyes no longer shed sadness. However, the old man still felt guilty for making the baby cry. "I'm sorry, Grace. I should have walked more calmly so you wouldn't wake up," he whispered in between his ragged breaths. After her face had been dry, Grace rested her head on Mister Hunt's shoulder. Blinking slowly, she pursed her lips. The furrow of her tiny brows indicated that she still wanted to roll up in the blanket on the crib. The baby wondered why she was with her great-grandfather, sitting on a long bench at the edge of a path. “When I was young, I only need fifteen minutes to arrive at your great-grandmother's grave. But now, why does it feel so long and tiring?” Mr. Hunt grumbled as he wiped his forehead with one hand. After one quick breath, the old man stood up again and held Grace in his languid arms. Although the baby was a bit heavy, his lips still curled up warmly.
