With eyes glued to Julian, Mia tiptoed into the bathroom. The man lying on the bed was still closed. Even though the girl turned the door lever and made a “click” sound, he didn't move at all.

"Does he wake up?" the young servant thought while clutching two small bottles in her hands. One contained egg whites and the other was empty.

After a few moments, the girl could breathe a sigh of relief. Julian hugged the pillow even tighter.

“I have to hurry,” Mia thought as she entered and closed the door very slowly.

Once she arrived at the destination, the girl immediately took action. She put the bottles on the sink and opened Julian's face wash container. Without wasting time, she poured the gel into the empty bottle provided.

"Fortunately, there is little left," Mia muttered while securing the bottle that was already filled. Then, the girl took the egg whites and put it in the face wash container. “My apologies, Mister Julian. It's your brother's

"So, is Mr. Julian really your first love?" Minnie concluded with an incredulous sigh. She never knew that her daughter had such a story. "Can I not make him my first love?" Mia asked with a flat expression. "Not that you can't. It's just ... so ridiculous, Mia. You fell in love just because of egg whites." Listening to her mother, Mia sighed in resignation. "I can't control my heart, Mom." "And even now, you're still on your knees with that guy, hm?" the old woman inquired while lightening the corners of her lips. Seeing the answer of the daughter through a briefly raised shoulder, Minnie's smile suddenly turned sad. She understood that sometimes, feelings were hard to tame. "I don't know if this request is cruel or not, but ... I hope Mr. Julian's meeting with that woman does not go smoothly," she said in a low voice. "I want my daughter to be happy." "Honestly, I want to reject such evil thoughts, Mom," Mia sighed softly. “I

As soon as she opened the apartment door, Mia's eyebrows rose to the max. She didn't expect the CEO to greet her warmly. "Good evening, Miss Sanders. That dress looks perfect on you,” Julian said, raising the corners of his lips. Instead of being flattered, the girl sighed in disbelief. "Why are you here, Sir? Aren't you supposed to go get Miss Johnson?" "What for? She said she could come to the restaurant herself,” Julian replied innocently. "Did she say it when you offered to pick her up?" Mia inquired with a faint shake of the head. "No. I said that it would be more effective if we just met there. She agreed and declared her independence. Miss Johnson doesn't mind, Mia." Hearing that seemingly nonchalant answer, the secretary automatically lowered her head and tried to remove the heavy air from the lungs. But apparently, one long puff was still not enough to free the chest from tightness. "That's really rude, Sir. Where is y

“Do you mind this matchmaking, Sir?” Katniss asked with slightly narrowed eyes. Hearing the girl's offended tone, Mia instantly waved and shook her head. "Of course not." However, at almost the same time, Julian gave the opposite answer. "Yes. From the start, I never agreed to this matchmaking.” An spontaneous sigh escaped from the gap of the cracked smile. "May I know the reason?" Katniss asked, raising an eyebrow. Suddenly, stiffness ran through the secretary's nerves. The shoulders that had previously lost their enthusiasm, were already erect with the support of worry. In between the beating of the heart that resembled a drum, she slipped hope. "Dear God, please don't let Julian reveal our relationship. Don't let Mr. Herbert get angry as their relationship could break. I don't want Julian to suffer for maintaining our love." However, instead of answering, Julian glanced at Mia and gave a mysterious smile. He seemed to be able to hea

“Are you guys really this close? This is the first time I've seen such a close interaction between the CEO and the secretary." Katniss's words echoed in Mia's mind. The secretary really didn't think the model could guess that accurately. However, with too much worry, her brain had trouble processing ideas. Before she could speak, Julian had already made the problem worse. "Don't you know? I have known Mia since she was born. We even lived in the same house for a dozen years.” With fading warmth, Katniss turned her gaze to the secretary. "Why didn't you tell me about it, Miss Sanders? I have no idea that your relationship turns out to be this intimate.” “P-please don't misunderstand. Mister Julian and I are like siblings," Mia explained, trying to kill the seeds of "misunderstanding". "But I think we are more than that," the man chimed in, successfully adding to the chill in the air that enveloped them. “You are not only a sibli

“Is this the story that touched your heart?” Julian whispered to the girl beside him after Katniss went to the toilet. Without turning around, Mia nodded. "Then you must have been lying," Julian muttered before taking a deep breath and straightening his back. "The story of Katniss Johnson's struggles in life doesn't touch my heart at all." “But, isn't she great? She manages to be successful even though her family's mediocre,” the girl objected, finally glancing at the man with a languid look. "Then what's the difference with you? Haven't you been successful too? You manage to become a secretary of the largest company in the country, Mia,” Julian reminded. However, instead of lifting her chin, the girl hid her face deeper. “But, I always feel that I didn't get it from my hard work. I'm just lucky that Mr. Herbert's willing to send me to school and give me the trust." "Do you think my father would do that to everyone?" the CEO asked with

After swallowing hard, Mia answered the call. With a slightly bowed head, she greeted, "Good evening, Sir." "Hello, Mia. Am I bothering you?" Hearing that cold tone, the girl's neck automatically turned stiffer. "No, Sir." “I heard you went to dinner with Julian and Katniss. Is that true?" In a sudden, the atmosphere turned quiet. Mia could only hear her own breath. "That's right, Sir." "It's such a coincidence that I have an extra spy,” Herbert chimed in, inviting more tension to devour the secretary. “E-extra spy?” "Yes, you know that I often hire people to spy on anyone, don't you?" In an instant, the air around Mia grew heavy. The girl had a hard time catching her breath. Her cold hands were clenched in front of the chest, while her frozen feet were glued to the floor. “So, how is their relationship, Mia? Has Julian started to open up yet?” With trembling lips, the girl forced her vocal cords to work

“Max, don't tell me you're having fun. You can't have the heart to ignore me, can you?" the CEO asked with eyebrows raised to the highest. "Yes ..." his brother sighed, successfully inviting Julian's annoyance. "You guys are so outrageous! I'm talking about serious matters, but you guys are still playing," Julian protested, frowning. "Call us later," Max said in a shaky voice. A second later, the phone line was cut off. "Max? Gaby?" Julian called in disbelief. After realizing that his request had been ignored, the man suddenly slammed his head against the back of the seat. "How could they do this to me?" While tapping his fingers on the steering wheel, the man's brain was deep in thought. “How do I get Cayden? Should I kidnap him?” After a moment of contemplation, he exhaled fast. “I have to ask Mia for help on this one. Hopefully, she'll be willing to help." *** “Mia, have you thought about it?” Julian

With a small grimace, the secretary nodded. “Can we take Cayden to the zoo? We promise to take good care of him.” Hearing the magical word, the baby suddenly straightened up. His round eyes gleamed at his parents. "Ju ...?" "Right! Zoo. We can see a lot of animals there,” Julian explained with reassuring hand gestures. “You will be very happy if you go there.” Suddenly, Cayden raised his hands high and laughed. “Ju …!” Seeing their son's enthusiasm, Max and Gabriella looked at each other in unison. They both knew that no one had the heart to destroy the Little Prince's happiness. After one quick breath, the woman finally said, “Don't let Cayden out of your sights. Understand?" Having Gabriella's approval, a wide smile automatically brightened Julian's face. He didn't expect to be able to change his sister-in-law's decision so easily. "Take it easy! Cayden is safe with us,” the CEO said with his eyebrows raised in excitement.

"Whoa!" Cayden sighed as his father placed him on the back of a pony. With round eyes, he surveyed his height from the ground. Even though it was not much, the toddler in the cowboy hat still showed a happy smile. “How is it, Little Evans? Are you happy?” the woman who held the horse's rein asked. Not daring to move much, Cayden nodded at a limited angle. "Yes, Greta. I am happy. It's thrilling!” he answered enthusiastically. “Thrilling?” Gabriella muttered, furrowing an eyebrow. While continuing to rock her niece, the woman expressed astonishment. “Where did you learn that word, Little Prince?” "Daddy often mentions it," the toddler replied, successfully making his father wince. "Daddy said that the nights spent with Mom were always thrilling." As Gabriella glared at her husband, Greta burst out laughing. "Gosh, Max. I think you should be more careful now. Your genius son can absorb all the words you speak.” "Right. I'll be more caref

"If you kept avoiding me, I would really quit the company," Julian said, successfully freezing Mr. Hunt's steps. The old man was then blinking, digesting the words he thought he heard wrong. “Actually, my position as a CEO is being threatened for some reasons. I tried to keep it a secret from all of you. I didn't even let Mia know. But as it turned out, it wasn't easy at all. My mind became adrift. And because the burden was too heavy, my emotions finally exploded. I'm so sorry it had to happen in front of you." Hearing the tone that seemed honest, Mr. Hunt slowly turned his focus. Two seconds later, he saw the tears slide from the grandson's eyes. "I've tried to be strong and tough, Grandpa. I thought I could solve all problems. But it turns out, I haven’t found any solution yet. That's why I was angry when I failed to find Grace and you at the cemetery. It got me think that I am a useless man," Julian explained with the gloomy eyes landed on the grass.

“Tsk, why does Grandpa run away like this? It just makes me feel even guiltier,” Julian grumbled between gasping breaths. Holding on to Mr. Hunt's message, he walked down the tree-lined path. “What should I do if Grandpa isn't there? After a few moments of struggling with the noise in his brain, Julian finally shook his head and blinked strongly. "No, no. Grandpa must be there. I'll take him home and things will automatically return to the way they were before," the man nodded, fostering hope. Ignoring the anxiety that kept swirling in his mind, he went faster. Unfortunately, as soon as Julian passed the cemetery gates, his steps were frozen. His jaw was dropping while his eyelids were lifted to the maximum. What he had hoped for quickly turned into disappointment. "No way! This is impossible!” he curs

"Dad," Cayden called quietly. A second later, the toddler handed Max a piece of bread that had been cleaned of jam. "I'm already full," he continued with a meaningful smile.Understanding the son's intentions, Max spontaneously raised an eyebrow. Mia answered with a grimace."Is that enough?" the man asked doubtfully. He began to realize that his anger had indeed crossed the line.Pondering, the woman nodded. “As long as it's sincere, Grandpa will definitely forgive you. “Greta, have you prepared delicious toast for us?” Cayden asked as the hostess opened the door wider to welcome him. Seeing her father was still able to walk, the woman with high arch of the brows spontaneously sighed in relief. After shaking her head for a moment, she turned her gaze to the toddler who was still holding Mr. Hunt's hand and waiting for her response. "Of course I have. There is also strawberry jam for you. Are you hungry?” Greta asked while faking a smile. “Not me, but Grandpa. I heard the sound of his breathing all the way. Grandpa is very tired! "Sorry, Julian. I took Grace to see your grandmother for a while. Now, I intend to take her home. Even so, his hoarse voice was able to touch the hearts of the listeners, apart from his grandson. "But the way home is over there, Grandpa!" Julian snapped, still with eyebrows raised to the max. The young man didn't feel sorry at all for the hunched back that was getting weighed down by guilt. "I really can’t understand what’s on your mind. Don't you realize that your recklessness can lead to trouble? Didn't we agree to go together? Why did you secretly take Grace away?” he continued, thickening the wrinkles on his grandfather's forehead. Sensing her father's anger, Little Princess began to furrow her brows. The baby had never heard such a loud voice. When her eyes fell on Mr. Hunt's gloomy face, she spontaneously pouted. A second later, her heavy cry b

Arriving at the cemetery, Julian was taken aback. What he saw was completely beyond expectation. There were no old man and baby among the tombstones. The grandfather and Grace left absolutely no trace. "This is impossible," Julian muttered as he quickened his pace. Neglecting his initial attempt to remain calm, the man sped toward the direction Greta had given. After searching for a while, he finally found the grandmother's name on one of the stones. “Right, this is the place. They should be here," Julian sighed, sounding desperate. With deep furrows, he circled around, trying to find any trace of either his daughter or Grandpa Hunt. Unfortunately, as far as the eye could see, the two remained off the radar. Confusion instantly grew bigger in Julian’s mind. "Tsk, how could it be like this?" he grumbled while clutching his head. Knowing that irritation, Mia gently touched her husband's arm. Carefully, Mr. Hunt wiped his great-granddaughter's cheek. Grace's red eyes no longer shed sadness. However, the old man still felt guilty for making the baby cry. "I'm sorry, Grace. I should have walked more calmly so you wouldn't wake up," he whispered in between his ragged breaths. After her face had been dry, Grace rested her head on Mister Hunt's shoulder. Blinking slowly, she pursed her lips. The furrow of her tiny brows indicated that she still wanted to roll up in the blanket on the crib. The baby wondered why she was with her great-grandfather, sitting on a long bench at the edge of a path. “When I was young, I only need fifteen minutes to arrive at your great-grandmother's grave. But now, why does it feel so long and tiring?” Mr. Hunt grumbled as he wiped his forehead with one hand. After one quick breath, the old man stood up again and held Grace in his languid arms. Although the baby was a bit heavy, his lips still curled up warmly.
