While letting his wife calm down in his arms, Max observed the conditions around him. A set of men's clothes on the floor, the scattered ropes, a glass that was no longer upright on the table, and the woman that was starting to warm up. After giving her a few light pats on the back, the man broke the silence.

“Gaby, are you really all right? Why is your heart beating so fast?”

Inching away, Gabriella answered in a low voice. “That man force-fed me with stimulants. I've been trying to fight back, but the water kept going into my mouth."

Hearing such a confession, Max's brows arched high. Once again, he lifted his wife's face so as not to be burdened with regret.

"So, what do you want? Should we do it now? Has the effect already started?” the man asked while examining Gabriella's eyes carefully.

After blinking for a while, the woman shook her head weakly. "No, Max. I can endure it. It's okay, just feels a little hot. Now, I wa

“Hey, Little Prince, are you still not sleepy? You haven't rested in hours. Now you better get some sleep," Max said while patting his son's soft diaper.Instead of responding, Cayden Evans just blinked. He still felt comfortable leaning on Gabriella's stomach. His two tiny hands even refused to take off the clothes his mother was wearing."Leave him alone, Max," the woman sighed before slowly glancing over with a meaningful smile. “The Little Prince must really miss me. He's afraid that we could be separated again. So, it's natural that he wants to enjoy every second with me."“Then, what about me? You promised to serve me a delicious dinner,” the man pouted, sounding like a child.Knowing that her husband was deliberately exaggerating his expression, Gabriella laughed faintly. A second later, she stroked the slightly pale man's cheek.“Max, aren't you tired? You've been looking for me and taking care of Cayden alone

"Whoa!" Cayden sighed as he placed his tiny hand against the window pane on the right side of the car. His sparkling eyes were busy focusing on one by one the grass-eating animals at the side of the road. A few moments later, the three-year-old toddler looked back. With eyebrows raised to the max, he pressed the tip of his index finger against the glass. “Look at them, Mom! They are exactly like the ones in the story. Horses really like to play in the big grass field. They must be having fun before they head back to the stables.” Hearing the excited chatter, Gabriella smiled and stroked her son's hair. "Are you happy?" "Of course," Cayden answered with a firm nod. “There are a lot of horses here. They are more than ten!” Surprised, the man sitting in the front seat suddenly turned to look at his nephew. “Hey, Little Prince. Since when have you been able to count to ten?” Unexpectedly, the toddler shook his head. "Not ten, Uncle, but tw

As soon as he heard the sound of a car, Jack rushed out of the stall and closed the door. While cleaning the dirt stuck to his clothes, the man stepped towards the guests he had been waiting for. “Welcome to our stable, Evans Family!” he exclaimed, spreading his arms and putting on a friendly face. While Julian and Max were unloading things from the car trunk, the women walked first to the welcomer, along with their children. “Hello, Uncle Jack. Nice to meet you again," Mia said in a low voice. The baby in her arms was still asleep. "Hello, Mia. How are you? Long time no see makes you fail to remember the right call to me, huh?” Receiving such a reply, the woman suddenly gasped and let out a faint laugh. "Sorry, Jack." “Well, that's the right one! Just Jack. It's not only Greta who wants to forget her age," the burly man whispered before chuckling and turning to Gabriella. "Welcome to our small farm, Mrs. Evans." "It's not simp

After blinking awkwardly, Julian tried to widen a smile. Cautiously, he stepped forward, approaching the gap of the door. “Grandpa, don’t you remember? It's me ... Julian, son of James ... your grandson." Instead of turning friendly, Mr. Hunt's face became even more wrinkled. It was clear that his brain still failed to recognize the grandson. “Are you guys swindlers? How could my son already have a child this old? He doesn't even have a girlfriend yet. His focus right now is just making money. He wants to be a successful person. That's why he went to another state," Mr. Hunt explained, highlighting the erroneous memory. Getting such a rigid response, Julian spontaneously sighed. Frowning, he tried to find a chance to insert himself into the grandfather's thought. However, after a while, the young man still hadn't broken the silence. Knowing her husband's confusion, Mia took a deep breath and one step forward. “Hello, Mister Hunt. Do you rememb

"How is it, Cayden? Do you like your lunch?” Greta asked while raising an eyebrow. She was happy to see the toddler eating voraciously. "This is delicious, Greta. Thanks for cooking it for me," Cayden said with his mouth full. As he continued to chew, he pointed his index finger at the baby sitting across the table. “Look! Even Ace really likes your porridge. She must be happy too." "Oh, thanks, Cayden. You are very good at praising,” the host said while placing a palm over her excited heart. After swallowing, the Little Prince put on a big smile. "You're welcome, Greta." Witnessing the joy of the toddler, Mr. Hunt suddenly let out a quick breath. After placing his spoon on the plate, the old man furrowed his brows. "How old are you, Little Kid?" At the unexpected question, Cayden delayed to lift the plastic fork to his mouth. "Three," he replied with round eyes. “Is it just three, Little Prince?” Gabriella whispered while wiping the s

“Come here, Ace! With a blink of an eye, she signaled to her mother to walk faster.“Alright, Little Princess. Let's come to your cousin," Mia whispered while stepping wider.Jumping up and down, Cayden waited for his playmate to arrive. Only after the auntie passed the door, then he walked again. Vigorously, the toddler dragged Gabriella to follow his steps."Come on, Mom! Let’s greet every horse belonging to Grandpa Hunt," the Little Prince exclaimed while moving towards the nearest stall. With slightly curved lips, Gabriella kept up with her son's enthusiasm. Cayden's energy never ebbed. Even when he knew the window to peek was out of reach, the toddler kept trying to find the hole between the boards.“

"Visiting you is not in vain, Grandpa. Actually, my time feels much more valuable when I'm by your side," Julian said while rubbing Mr. Hunt's drooping shoulder. However, instead of being consoled, the old man waved his hand. It was clear that he did not agree with the grandson's statement.“The journey from your house to here is very time consuming, Julian. You can do more important things with that thousands seconds. Taking care of pending work, hanging out with friends, and even having a picnic in the park near your house. Coming here too often will only waste your weekends,” the old man argued in a hoarse, slashing voice.Once again, Julian confirmed the movement of his head. He wanted to show that his words were not mere small talk, but sincere from the bottom of his heart.“You know what, Grandpa? Someone recently gave me a precious advice. He said that I was very lucky to have a grandfather as great as you. Because of that, I don'

After waiting for a while, Julian still didn't get any answer. While stroking his grandfather's shoulder, he asked again, "Is there a problem?"After taking a deep breath, Mr. Hunt wiped his face. It was only then that he realized his tears were almost falling."Nothing, Julian," the old man replied in the same volume. While trying to carve a smile, he pointed at the toddler who was still excited spreading the joy. "Let's pay attention to the story from Cayden."Understanding that the grandfather was reluctant to express his feelings, Julian clenched his jaw. However, after nodding for a moment, he took a quick breath and looked away."Okay," the young man said softly, rubbing the back which felt cold even though the atmosphere was warm. He knew that his grandfather needed space."What's the matter, Julian?" Mia asked as her lips were brought close to her husband's ear. After meeting the gaze, Julian shook his head. "I don’t know. "Whoa!" Cayden sighed as his father placed him on the back of a pony. With round eyes, he surveyed his height from the ground. Even though it was not much, the toddler in the cowboy hat still showed a happy smile. “How is it, Little Evans? Are you happy?” the woman who held the horse's rein asked. Not daring to move much, Cayden nodded at a limited angle. "Yes, Greta. I am happy. It's thrilling!” he answered enthusiastically. “Thrilling?” Gabriella muttered, furrowing an eyebrow. While continuing to rock her niece, the woman expressed astonishment. “Where did you learn that word, Little Prince?” "Daddy often mentions it," the toddler replied, successfully making his father wince. "Daddy said that the nights spent with Mom were always thrilling." As Gabriella glared at her husband, Greta burst out laughing. "Gosh, Max. I think you should be more careful now. Your genius son can absorb all the words you speak.” "Right. I'll be more caref

"If you kept avoiding me, I would really quit the company," Julian said, successfully freezing Mr. Hunt's steps. The old man was then blinking, digesting the words he thought he heard wrong. “Actually, my position as a CEO is being threatened for some reasons. I tried to keep it a secret from all of you. I didn't even let Mia know. But as it turned out, it wasn't easy at all. My mind became adrift. And because the burden was too heavy, my emotions finally exploded. I'm so sorry it had to happen in front of you." Hearing the tone that seemed honest, Mr. Hunt slowly turned his focus. Two seconds later, he saw the tears slide from the grandson's eyes. "I've tried to be strong and tough, Grandpa. I thought I could solve all problems. But it turns out, I haven’t found any solution yet. That's why I was angry when I failed to find Grace and you at the cemetery. It got me think that I am a useless man," Julian explained with the gloomy eyes landed on the grass.

“Tsk, why does Grandpa run away like this? It just makes me feel even guiltier,” Julian grumbled between gasping breaths. Holding on to Mr. Hunt's message, he walked down the tree-lined path. “What should I do if Grandpa isn't there? Where should I look for him?” the man thought as he couldn't erase the wrinkles from his face. The burden in his heart was too heavy to ignore. After a few moments of struggling with the noise in his brain, Julian finally shook his head and blinked strongly. "No, no. Grandpa must be there. I'll take him home and things will automatically return to the way they were before," the man nodded, fostering hope. Ignoring the anxiety that kept swirling in his mind, he went faster. Unfortunately, as soon as Julian passed the cemetery gates, his steps were frozen. His jaw was dropping while his eyelids were lifted to the maximum. What he had hoped for quickly turned into disappointment. "No way! This is impossible!” he curs

"Dad," Cayden called quietly. A second later, the toddler handed Max a piece of bread that had been cleaned of jam. "I'm already full," he continued with a meaningful smile.Understanding the son's intentions, Max spontaneously raised an eyebrow. "Do you want me to finish your bread again?"While showing two rows of tiny teeth, Cayden nodded. After a faint exhalation, the father began to vibrate the air with laughter."Gaby, look at what Little Prince did! I can get fat if he keeps handing me food,” the man said while showing the second bread he received from his son.“Just eat it, Max. You need more energy to help the Little Prince take care of Hasty,” the woman who was cleaning the dishes with a sponge replied.Hearing his mother's response, Cayden's eyes immediately widened. His energy had just risen to the peak. “I've finished breakfast, Mom. Can I go to the stable now?”"Yes, but you have to wash your face

Suddenly, Julian dropped his face into his hands. After exhaling heavily, he lifted his head again and put on an indescribable expression."I didn't mean to scare anyone, Mia. I just don't want Grandpa’s mistake to happen again," the man said with frown on his face."Yes, I know," Mia replied with the same thin voice. “But you can do it without hurting Grandpa's feelings, Julian. This matter can be discussed amicably.”While gritting his teeth, Julian shook his head. Confusion had returned to cover his eyes. “What should I do now? I already made Grandpa sad.""Apologize?" Mia answered with a grimace."Is that enough?" the man asked doubtfully. He began to realize that his anger had indeed crossed the line.Pondering, the woman nodded. “As long as it's sincere, Grandpa will definitely forgive you. And I think, you should also explain to Cayden that what you did was wrong. Don't let your nephew imitate something t

“Greta, have you prepared delicious toast for us?” Cayden asked as the hostess opened the door wider to welcome him. Seeing her father was still able to walk, the woman with high arch of the brows spontaneously sighed in relief. After shaking her head for a moment, she turned her gaze to the toddler who was still holding Mr. Hunt's hand and waiting for her response. "Of course I have. There is also strawberry jam for you. Are you hungry?” Greta asked while faking a smile. “Not me, but Grandpa. I heard the sound of his breathing all the way. Grandpa is very tired! He should eat a lot of bread," Cayden said with his trademark expression—round eyes and pursed lips. While stroking her son's head, Gabriella bent her knees. After leveling their eyes, the woman tilted her head. "You know where Greta put the plate of bread, don't you?" No more than two seconds, the toddler nodded. "Yes. "Sorry, Julian. I took Grace to see your grandmother for a while. Now, I intend to take her home. We're not wandering around or straying like you said," Mister Hunt explained with an indescribable expression. Even so, his hoarse voice was able to touch the hearts of the listeners, apart from his grandson. "But the way home is over there, Grandpa!" Julian snapped, still with eyebrows raised to the max. The young man didn't feel sorry at all for the hunched back that was getting weighed down by guilt. "I really can’t understand what’s on your mind. Don't you realize that your recklessness can lead to trouble? Didn't we agree to go together? Why did you secretly take Grace away?” he continued, thickening the wrinkles on his grandfather's forehead. Sensing her father's anger, Little Princess began to furrow her brows. The baby had never heard such a loud voice. When her eyes fell on Mr. Hunt's gloomy face, she spontaneously pouted. A second later, her heavy cry b

Arriving at the cemetery, Julian was taken aback. What he saw was completely beyond expectation. There were no old man and baby among the tombstones. The grandfather and Grace left absolutely no trace. "This is impossible," Julian muttered as he quickened his pace. Neglecting his initial attempt to remain calm, the man sped toward the direction Greta had given. After searching for a while, he finally found the grandmother's name on one of the stones. “Right, this is the place. They should be here," Julian sighed, sounding desperate. With deep furrows, he circled around, trying to find any trace of either his daughter or Grandpa Hunt. Unfortunately, as far as the eye could see, the two remained off the radar. Confusion instantly grew bigger in Julian’s mind. "Tsk, how could it be like this?" he grumbled while clutching his head. Knowing that irritation, Mia gently touched her husband's arm. Carefully, Mr. Hunt wiped his great-granddaughter's cheek. Grace's red eyes no longer shed sadness. However, the old man still felt guilty for making the baby cry. "I'm sorry, Grace. I should have walked more calmly so you wouldn't wake up," he whispered in between his ragged breaths. After her face had been dry, Grace rested her head on Mister Hunt's shoulder. Blinking slowly, she pursed her lips. The furrow of her tiny brows indicated that she still wanted to roll up in the blanket on the crib. The baby wondered why she was with her great-grandfather, sitting on a long bench at the edge of a path. “When I was young, I only need fifteen minutes to arrive at your great-grandmother's grave. But now, why does it feel so long and tiring?” Mr. Hunt grumbled as he wiped his forehead with one hand. After one quick breath, the old man stood up again and held Grace in his languid arms. Although the baby was a bit heavy, his lips still curled up warmly.
