●Khushi's P.O.V.●

"You're telling me that Darsh gave me a bath at night because the drug's effects were making me act strangely?" I questioned after listening to Farina describe everything.

"Exactly."

"So he was just making fun of me," I murmured in realisation.

"You said something, ma'am?" Farina hunched over.

"Nothing!" I smiled broadly as I cast a cheery gaze up at Farina.

"You changed my clothes, right?" I asked her to confirm my doubts.

"Yes, of course, ma'am." She answered with assurance.

I sighed in relief, "Thank God."

"Where did you take the man who tried to abduct me?"

"That can't be revealed. I'm sorry, ma'am."

My eyes squinted at her suspiciously, but she just stood there, unbothered.

I continued to stare at her with suspicion for a few more seconds before giving up. "I hope that man will be held accountable lawfully for what he did." Then I picked up the glass of water from the table and caught Farina flashing a forced, phoney smile at my words.

But as soon as I took a s

●Khushi's P.O.V.●I discovered Uma Pathak, Sushant's mother, as I shifted my head to the left. She had a prejudicial nature from the beginning. She used to critique me harshly because I used to perform the worst out of the three of us friends.Sometimes she would predict that because of my average qualities, I would lead a miserable life. Thus, it was expected that she would judge my husband as soon as she crossed the threshold of our house."Mrs. Pathak?" Although Papa didn't appear to be too delighted, he still allowed her inside. "Please come inside."Darsh glanced down at me for a second before turning back to Aunt Uma. Slowly and with a serious demeanour, she entered the living room."I heard he owned a business at least. But it turned out he is simply an employee," Aunt Uma paused, grinning. It was clear to me that Shushant was residing in a foreign country with his family. Hence, they didn't follow much native news.Nonetheless, the husband and wife's responses were remarkably c

●Khushi's P.O.V.●"You looked adorable while defending me, little wife." He mumbled, flashing a dangerous grin. "Could you act more like that for me?"And my heart skipped a beat.It should be illegal to flirt with that charming face.I inhaled deeply before firmly shoving Darsh's hand away and exclaiming, "Absolutely not!" His confused gaze expanded."Is something wrong?" Darsh questioned me in a befuddled manner."Don't come this close to me from now on!" I ordered."Why not?""It's just...." I took a breath and lowered my head to cover the heat on my cheeks.Darsh's lips curled slightly to the left as he hunched down to my eye level. "By any chance... does it make your heart flutter?"His question made me glance up at him, and I panicked. Is he reading my mind now?"I didn't read your mind." He mumbled. "It is simply written all over your face."My face turned bright red, listening to his words. I squeezed my eyes and pushed back Darsh, pressing on his chest with both my hands."St

●Darsh's P.O.V.●"Maybe I did take you as my family, or else I never would have married you in the first place."Her words left me speechless and my eyes puzzled. Khushi was talking about accepting me for the first time. But it didn't end there. She slowly reached up and fluffed my hair with her palm.I felt my heart begin to pound in my chest, and my eyes widened a little. What the hell is happening to me?"I may not recall what you are to me right now, but I can still promise you that when I married you, I took you as someone precious in my heart." She added, smiling kindly at me, and I froze at my place. Her response undoubtedly started ripping me apart from the inside out. Khushi assumed we got married out of love, but the truth was far crueller than that.My mind was compelled to think about what Khushi might do if she were to regain her memories. How she would act if she remembered how we met, how I treated her, and how she ended up getting into that accident. My spine quivered

Mother's words roused me from sleep."Good morning, Ma," I said as I wiped my eyes and rose from my bed."Morning," Mom said with a sour expression."What's wrong?" I yawned and stretched my back."You ask me, what's wrong?" Ma yelled. "Darsh woke up at 6 a.m. He is such a polite young man.He got up and went for a morning stroll with your father. Long ago, while you were still asleep, they both had breakfast. Do you also sleep this way at home, huh?""Aaaiii!" Her incisive yell made me grab my ears. "Ma, calm down a little bit. My ears are hurting from your shriek.""You shameless brat! Your entire body will hurt if you don't get up and shower right now!" She ordered and then stormed out of the room.I shook my head and murmured, "I didn't know you still got scolded by your parents even after getting married," as I gazed around the room. However, I soon realised I was on my bed when I should have been sleeping on the floor. Why

He chuckled."You wish." I scoffed as I began to wear my lipstick while talking to him when my eyes caught his reflection in the mirror. And my mouth fell ajar. I swiftly swung around to get a better look at him.Darsh was garbed in black jeans and a white shirt with stripes. His hair remained well-combed over his forehead. Although his abs were no longer visible beneath that shirt, his broad shoulders and well-toned frame were enough to attract attention.Darsh stood confidently in front of me. His hands remained nestled inside the pocket while the corner of his mouth twitched into a smile. He was breathtakingly stunning.Even though earlier I felt guilty for forcing him to wear something he didn't want to, it was worth it. At least to my eyes, it was."Khushi?""Khushi?" An abrupt call woke me up."Huh?""Yo

●Khushi's P.O.V.●We headed to the Lake Gardens after finishing our lunch. It seemed to be the best plan for the next destination. After staying under the direct sun, my body felt so much more refreshed under the blanket of leaves over our heads as we walked by the lake, looking for an empty seat to rest."There's one." I felt Darsh's hand take hold of mine when he pointed to an empty bench. Before someone else claimed it, he dragged me to the seat. I felt like I was out with a kid who just got a break from his busy school. As we took our seats, he mumbled, "It's beautiful.""I know right," I replied, admiring the lake and its other fringe, covered with trees. Most of them were flamboyant trees. The orange hue blended well with the green, giving spectators a pleasant glimpse. Some people were practising rowing in the lake."What's that?" Darsh gained my attention as he pointed at a Kulfi seller. It was a type of frozen dessert made of milk, sugar, and different types of nuts."You don'

I was taken aback by his abrupt request."You just said you would leave me if I were a bad husband to you," Darsh stated in between his sobs, causing me to gasp.He was undoubtedly upset about something, but I didn't anticipate him crying at a simple sentence I said.I took a step closer to him and wiped the corner of his eyes with my thumbs. Darsh suddenly flung up his arms and embraced me, resting his forehead on my shoulder. His entire body was subtly trembling. It took me a few seconds to fully comprehend what had just transpired. Then, I gave Darsh the tightest hug I could manage to stop the trembling."I am not leaving you," I said, rubbing his bowed back kindly."But you said—" Before he could mumble another complaint, I interrupted him. ●Khushi's P.O.V.●After Darsh left, it was almost 3–4 days, and he never called or texted me. Even if I tried calling him, Darsh ignored my calls and never called me back.At that point, I was certain Darsh was avoiding me on purpose. Hence, I stopped calling him because I felt annoyed. I asked him to go back, mostly because I didn't want him to abandon his responsibilities because of me, but he was acting absurd at that point. After a few more days, Mandira's wedding day finally arrived. We were having fun at her house during a Sangeet party, singing and dancing with our family and friends.Suddenly, Mandira's expression darkened as she received a call. She sprang to her feet and dashed to her room. I decided to follow her since I had a bad feeling. As I entered Mandira's bedroom, I saw her sobbing while hunching over on her knees. I hurried inside as soon as I could."What's wrong?""He called again," Mandira said."Your ex?"She nodded while pressing her lips against each other."W

●Khushi's P.O.V.●A Few weeks Later~"Are you nervous?" Darsh asked as he hugged me from behind."A little," I uttered as I smiled at him from the mirror."Why, though? It's just our anniversary party." Darsh said, kissing my head."I'm not sure." I grinned apprehensively."Just breathe.Or I can help you relax." As his arms began to gradually encircle my stomach, he whispered in my ears."Darsh!Everyone is at home." I scolded him."So what? You are my wife, and this is my house. I can always express my love to my wife." He said and started placing slow kisses on my neck, sending shivers down my spine."Darsh, would you please stop?" After a groan, I spoke."Well, you certainly don't sound like you want me to." I heard him chuckle in my ears as he kissed me down my neck and moved to kiss my back. I was about to push him away when our bedroom door was knocked on by someone."Everyone is waiting for you downstairs, Master and My Lady." Uncle Hemant spoke up from the outside."His timing

●Khushi's P.O.V.●Bip...bip..bip…The heart rate machine kept beeping as I stared at Darsh's unconscious face. He was unresponsive as he lay on the hospital bed. His face was covered in bruises, and bandages were placed across his body.I kept praying for him to wake up as tears streamed down my face. It had been a day already since he had been there. It was not a great view to look at. Nobody was aware of the cause of Darsh's fragile state. Though we assumed Harsh Raj beat him by taking advantage of the time when he was helpless. But the main question was, why did he not fight back and protect himself? I couldn't stop asking those questions to myself. When I was busy contemplating, I felt his hand move a little. Wondering if it was just my imagination, I focused all my concentration on him. I gaped when Darsh finally slowly opened his eyes after a few seconds.I wiped my tears away quickly and drew nearer to him.Darsh closed and opened his eyelids quite a few times. He appeared to b

From the other end of the call, Akash informed me.My dejected eyes brightened as I slowly rose to my feet while holding onto the trunk of the car."Send the cops," I smiled through my painful, gushing wounds as I ordered and disconnected the call."Harsh Raj?" I spoke clearly enough for Harsh Raj to hear. He came to a stop and looked at me with a knitted brow as he turned around."Has the shock driven you insane?" He smirked."Uh, well, there is no fellow alive in the world to make me go insane," I said, smiling through my bloody teeth. Harsh Raj appeared uneasy when he observed my sudden confidence."Then, what is it?" However, he still managed to smirk."Heh, It's your end that I could see with my open eyes," I grinned, earning a sneer from him."You're still trying to act arrogant after lo

●Darsh's P.O.V.●I was waiting at the mentioned address for twenty minutes. It was an empty region with a deserted roadway and tall, wild trees lining both sides of it. Every two minutes, I glanced at my wristwatch and looked around to check if Harsh Raj was there or not.Only I knew how I was able to leave my office, avoid the reporters, and make it to my destination at the specified time.Every second that went by made me more and more frustrated. I hit the steering wheel, clicking my tongue in fury. It was my mistake to not make sure whether the guard was being strict and proper at the hospital. Khushi wouldn't have to experience such a nightmare if I were a bit more cautious. How could I have overlooked the possibility that Harsh Raj might harm Khushi? How? I hit my head on the steering wheel, feeling my skin crawl with fear deep inside my heart. Why is he still not here? Wait! Did he lie to me? Will he kill her before we meet?I flinched at a startling noise, but when I realised

●Khushi's P.O.V.●I remained in the room alone as Akash left, having promised me that he would deliver the message I had sent to Darsh. The words from Uncle Hemant and Akash were still circling in my head.Doesn't that mean Darsh has truly changed if Akash can even recognise his sincerity towards me? He genuinely wants to be with me for his love and not to uphold his reputation.Maybe I should give him one chance to prove his words. I thought about it as I consumed the food that the nurse had given me.After a while, the doctor came and checked me up."How are you feeling, Mrs. Sinha?""Better.""That's great. Any dizziness or headache?""Last night, I felt a little lightheaded, but I'm fine now. Though I can feel a slight headache," I answered."It'll be alright soon," He assured me with a smile."Has Mr. Sinha left the hospital, by the way, Mrs. Sinha?" He lowered the stethoscope from his ears and asked.I replied, "Yes, he left a while ago," in a low voice, while his name made me r

●Darsh's P.O.V.●I fixed my gaze on the screen displaying Rishav Mittal and Harsh Raj's earlier works, which they had attempted to conceal but which my spies had dug up from the grave."F***king Pervert Ba*****!" As I looked at the data on the screen, I clicked my tongue."You are shocked as well, Master? When I read the case of Harsh Raj raping and killing a girl, I felt the same way. After that, Harsh Raj threatened to kill her other family members to shield himself from the law. In the end, the victim's family was powerless to take action against him, and he got out of it easily." While wiping the sweat from his brow, Uncle Hemant stated it."As I suspected, Harsh Raj is really a filthy pig. We have just unlimited files to send him behind bars." I expressed my anger as I spoke. I was truly disgusted by Harsh Raj."Mittal is also involved in illicit activity, but it is all associated with business. The real scumbag is Harsh Raj.First, we need to take down Harsh Raj anyhow. ●Darsh's P.O.V.●Later that night~A nurse approached Khushi's room, carrying a food tray. I got up and stopped her."Let me take it to her," I said. The nurse blinked twice before nodding her head and handing over the tray of food to me. I inhaled and exhaled heavily before going into her room.As soon as I entered, I found Khushi sobbing, sitting on the bed with her face buried in her palms. I hurried over to her, set the tray down next to her bed, and worriedly asked, "What's wrong?""Khushi, what's wrong? Why are you crying? Tell me!" I touched her head.Khushi slowly raised her face, wiping her tears away as her eyes grew furious."Nothing!" She declared. "Just leave."I couldn't help but neglect her order."When I used to cry, you always stayed with me and comforted me," I said, feeling remorseful. My voice got stuck somewhere inside my throat as the sweat beads formed on my temples.I didn't know how she was going to react at that moment. In my entire life, that was the situation I dreaded the most. I was frightened to hear about the old days when I was a jerk to her. When I treated her so poorly!"Well, I….I…." I tried to speak but couldn't find the exact word to put in a sentence. Khushi was staring down at me with the same smile on her lips."I want you to know that what you witnessed at the office wasn't true. I can prove it. You can check the footage." I finally blurted it out anxiously."Let's not talk about all this," Khushi murmured."What? Why not?" My fear was replaced by confusion. I was certain she didn't forgive me for kissing Anannya, so why was she avoiding the topic?"I think I have done enough of these things after memory loss." She smiled."What thi
